This hotel was booked as part of tour of Japan and we were there for only 1 night. As a solo traveller I was allocated a single room which was very small. It did however have a large bed which based on the space available was probably too big for the room. In order to get my case open to just get a small number of items I needed for one night I had to rearrange the chair and table so I could get the case open. The “closet” if you can call it that, was so small it only had 3 hangers and was probably only about 18inches wide right next to the door. I wouldn’t want to stay in this room more than one night. On the basis you pay a single supplement I find it poor that we solo travellers are given such small and inadequate rooms. In addition, as a tour from the UK, hardly anyone spoke English so it was hard to get the staff to understand when something went wrong, like my kettle which wasn’t working. In credit to the Reception staff, once I finally managed to get him to understand the problem he resolved it very quickly. Finally when we went to breakfast at 7.45am they were already full and we had to wait about 10 mins or so, then a number of the breakfast items had run out. There were 2 coach tours in and they didn’t seem to be able to cope or cater for the amount of people there. I did find the staff very friendly and helpful, so it certainly isn’t their fault. I wouldn’t recommend it for solo travellers.

A super hotel, convenient for both Matsumoto train and bus stations, with the best breakfast in Japan! We stayed for two nights in a twin room, which was reasonably sized, with a small seating area. Everything was spotlessly clean, with a compact bathroom and decent over the bath shower. The hotel has excellent facilities, including two laundry rooms, so we were able to get our washing done for 300 yen a load. You can monitor the progress of your washing and drying from your bedroom TV, which also tells you how busy the breakfast room is! The breakfast was amazing! Such an incredible array of sweet and savoury dishes, including roasted pumpkin in sesame which was divine. Reception staff spoke good English and were very polite and helpful. A really nice hotel for visiting beautiful Matsumoto Castle and the Yayoi Kusama exhibition at the City Museum of Art. We would definitely recommend it.

I chose this hotel in front of the station for the next day to use a car rental. It is a hotel of the Alpico Transportation Group. The receptionist is on the 2 floor. Check-in requires a machine hand input by yourself, and all payments, card keys and breakfast tickets are out of the machine. So payment is prepaid. It depends on the way of thinking whether it is troublesome or convenient. 1 person 8000 yen with breakfast. There was Wi-Fi, the room and the bathroom were clean and the bed was comfortable and there was no particular dissatisfaction. There are also restaurants and taverns in front of the station for dinner, so there is no worry.

Check-in uses an automatic check-in machine, but even when I entered the building, the front desk staff just looked silently and didn't even greet me. Also, the guests who tried to check in at the front desk were cold to use the check-in machine. (If you don't support check-in at the front desk, you don't need ２ people at the counter. １ Why don't you stand at the person check-in machine and guide you?) Alpico Hotel Group ”Shoho” It was the decisive factor to use the large bath, but only 10 people can be used per free transfer bus １ flight (１ day ２ flight), and there was no explanation from the front staff. The rooms were not cleaned, dust was accumulated on the desk, refrigerator, and the head of the bed, and the mirror was not wiped. (I went to the front desk and borrowed a rag and cleaned it myself)

The staff and service were very appreciated. We forget some stuff in the room and the hotel staff tried so hard to find it and gave us back despite we already check out. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was very close to the train station with a few minutes walk. We really appreciated our stay and will visit again for sure. 😊

Less than 5 minutes walk from JR station, my moderate twin room is very spacious and comes with a work desk. Beddings are very comfortable and plenty of amenities are provided. They even have complimentary supper service at night. We didn't get to try the breakfast but they look great with a lot of varieties. This is a great place to stay in Matsumoto.

The employee 々 was kind and polite and very sensitivity. However, since it lives in the prefecture, it is a pity that it was politely refused to apply the application of Shinshu accommodation when it offered the application of ”it is not applied if it is not booked by the target plan”. When I stayed at Feena Vista last week, I only booked it normally on the accommodation site at the same time when I checked in, ”the customer lives in Nagano Prefecture, so Shinshu accommodation is applied.” (I didn't know that there was a accommodation fee until then) I was able to fill in the necessary documents on the spot and cash back \5000 (1 night 2 people) when I checked out.

I walked from Kita Matsumoto Station to the hotel. ７ minutes? It is a walk arrival. The woman at the front desk had a smile and there was no unpleasant impression. The room was a room with Matsumoto Jo castle on the top floor. Especially at night Matsumoto Jo castle was the best and clean. The room size is a bit small, but I think it is reasonable to think of the price. The public bath is the feeling that it is said to be a small bath. ５ people are full if they enter. Moreover, there was no corona countermeasure at all. It is a breakfast restaurant, but it uses tong in the form of Viking, but the corona countermeasure is halfway and it is not possible. Use of disposable gloves for decadac and finger disinfection at the entrance properly. I didn't use several sets of disposable gloves. The employee doesn't know the face. In addition, there are couples who do not have a mask and are surprised. I think it is better to use care on the hygiene side because it is such a time. Dinner was surprisingly close to Matsumoto station.

We decided to stop in Suwa to break up a long drive back to Tokyo. Shinyu looked very good and the price was reasonable. The hotel is renovated and gives a nice modern spa hotel atmosphere. The greeting at the hotel is very nice and the lobby area is beautiful. We felt very welcomed when we arrived. Our room was facing the lake. It was Japanese style with tatami and futons. Nice room, nice view. The public bath was nice. Not huge but felt very good. They have an indoor bath, small outdoor bath, a sauna and a cold bath. Dinner was great, as was breakfast. They were both courses and delicious. Service? Well, this is what makes all the difference. When we book hotels we need to detail my daughter's food allergies which are serious. For this trip we had booked many hotels in a row and for some reason when we booked Shinyu and checked-in we just forgot. It was our fault and when we sat for dinner we saw her prepared meal that she obviously could not eat. The staff at Shinyu didn't miss a beat. The didn't make a big deal about it. No stress. The quickly adjusted and made a wonderful dinner for my daughter and also prepared for her breakfast in similar fashion. Wonderful. Such great service. Maybe the building isn't perfect. But the service was perfect. Shinyu was our last stop on our trip and we left with a smile. Shinyu gets an ”Excellent” from my family.

I chose the hotel for the hot springs. The hotel has been open for a few years, so the facilities are a bit outdated. The hot springs are good, the water quality is very good, and there are several hot springs to choose from. The buffet breakfast is also very rich. The hotel is opposite Lake Suwa and the scenery is beautiful. The hotel is not far from the station, and pick-up and drop-off services can be reserved.
