I have stayed in many hotels in Shangrila old town over the past 12 years so have a little experience. Location: Close to the top dancing square but at the top of a very steep hill. It had rained so the stone street was VERY slippery. It is close to impossible to walk up the hill with suitcase. There is a 1/2 meter wide ***** of carpet that was laid down on the right side of the road going up the hill. It gave great traction, but unfortunately some non-thinking person had parked their electric cart directly on top of the carpet so you could not navigate it. I arrived at 6 PM and that electric cart was still sitting on the carpet in the same place the next morning at 9 AM. Trying to walk around the electric cart , but I did slip and fell to the ground. I would not come back to this hotel again, if there was any potential for any rain. The picture is of the morning after the rain had dried. When I booked my room, they did tell me that there was only one room remaining and it was for four people. I was solo but I booked it anyway. Unfortunately, I did not understand that there are four beds that are actually side-by-side touching each other. They are very very thin pads laid on top of a wooden platform. No way to get into or out of any bed without crawling back to the foot of the bed and going over the edge that way. It was the hardest sleeping service I have ever been on and got very little sleep. If I had my sleeping bag and camping mattress, I would’ve just slept on the floor. Won’t be back here again. The service people at the hotel were very nice. Offered to carry my bag up to my room on the third floor and the woman who provided the breakfast in the morning was very pleasant. Have no complain about the service just the beds in the access to the hotel. If it’s raining, make it a no go for me 

The location is good, very close to Songzanlin Monastery. The parking lot is very convenient. The atrium is very beautiful and very impressive. There is an oxygen concentrator in the room. The water temperature and pressure are very good. Bathing is very comfortable. It is just on the roadside.

But because he and the store manager Xiaoliang are very different from each other, they are both kind-hearted people who are very loyal. So I chose to live here. At night we went to the supermarket next door to grill over the charcoal fire, and we also had a candlelight grilled fish dinner together. We had a drink together and talked about the mountains and life together. Although it was a cold night, it was very warm and emotional. After checking in, I made a little brother, haha. If I can come back to Shangri-La, I will stay here again. Store manager Xiaoliang is also welcome to visit Beijing.
