Room was very big and well equipped, including a washing machine and a fridge (fridge wasn't turned on so I didn't use it but the washing machine was great). Plenty of cupboard and shelf space to store luggage and clothes. It had a nice bay window seat which was cool. Bed was massive and very comfortable. Bathroom (seperate shower and toilet) were fine, could have been cleaner but it was ok. Location is good, about 45 minutes walk to the lake in front of Songzanlin Monastery (go there for sunrise!) and similar time to the ancient town, and there's bus stations outside so it's also well connected. The service was good, the lady was very quiet but helpful enough. Overall, it was good value for money.

Right across the bus station, so you can sleep in and catch the 8am bus to Tiger Leaping Gorge. Large TV in the room with about 2000 free western movies, some less than 6 months old in cinemas. Extremely soft bed (American style). Other than that... This place is average for Chinese standard. The bed itself is clean, but there's mold on the walls and some are even peeping. The bathroom is divided between wet and dry areas but some stuff is falling apart. At least the hot water is scalding and plentiful, which is rare in these latitudes. Service staff is inexperienced, but then again, normal here. Far from the old town, but then again, not the fault of the hotel and I much prefer to take taxis the day before an early start than scramble to find something at 7am. Would stay again.

The staffs at counter desk were courteous, polite and well mannered and willing to go the extra mile to help by changing the room for me. Even the hotel cleaners were very courteous and well mannered which i appreciated them very much. This hotel has welcome self service drinks. I arrived too early for checkin and they accept my baggage and placed them behind their counter and gave me a reference tag for my baggage for security reason by so by matching the tag which i feel confident placing my baggage with the hotel.

The location is good. You can take a taxi to Dukezong in a few minutes. The room was upgraded, which I appreciate. However, the ashtray in the room was not cleaned. It was missed during cleaning. The breakfast was not in the main building. You have to walk out of the house. There are not many choices, but it is enough. Overall, it is acceptable.

Me and my family stayed here for 2 nights. This hotel is the most elegant in our trip. Location is in the heart of old town. Facilities are beyond you imagine. My brother got high attitude sickness the day we arrived we asked Miss fan ( front desk girl who can speak English) for help. The hotel team help everything ex o2 tube for breath , ginger tea and extra blankets. So he can finally slept. Thank you so much for your hospitality. We also asked hotel to provide us the day trip around. Oh plus hotel has the pick up service for free. And during the say trip, they pack drink and snack box for all of us. Thats helps a lot. And the most importance things is the scenery in this hotel you can feel the Chinese culture in every detail. This hotel is 10 out of 10.

This homestay is the best! Very recommended 👌🏻 the host is very accommodating. The location is just perfect. It’s near to everything. There’s bed warmer and floor heater and the toilet comes with automatic bidet. There’s washing machine and even extra jackets that can be borrowed from the hotel as we undermine the cold in Shangrila the puffer jacket we borrowed really help us a lot with the cold. There’s pickup and dropoff service for free to and fro the Railway Station. The room that we book is really nice and the view is also nice. Please stay here if you come to Shangrila. You won’t regret it.
