There are not many people in Baishuitai, a relatively niche attraction. The hotel is clean, refreshing and spacious. The little brother helped us call a 7-seater car to Shangri-La. The car was busy at 8 o'clock in the morning and I forgot a small bag in the hotel. It was the little brother who took the initiative to call to inform me. I forgot a small bag, but after contacting another driver in the afternoon to help bring my small bag to the Shangri-La Hotel, I really appreciate it!
The B&B is newly opened, and the outside is pretty good. The garden is very well done, with small bridges, flowing water, and several small artificial lakes. It is full of various vines and plants. It is very quiet. The owner was very nice and provided various supplies attentively.
However, the houses built by local farmers are just like this. The interior decoration is relatively simple, and there is no shade cloth for the curtains, which woke us up early. But it's a good thing, I got up early today. The windows are large, and the view is good after opening the window screen. The sun is bright and shines directly into the room. The wind is also good and cool. The room is comfortable to stay in during the day.
When I got up, I realized that I could see snow-capped mountains in the yard. This snow-capped mountain is often shrouded in white clouds, as if wrapped in a veil, adding a bit of mystery. After breakfast, walk 200 meters to Baishuitai, the holy land of Dongba.

We returned from the Meili Snow Mountain and checked in at night. We returned to Kunming after watching this morning. You can cook rice noodles and eat them in the morning.
Hygiene: I am surprised that in this small village, I can live in such good sanitary conditions. It is much better than many B&Bs in the ancient city.
Facilities: The decoration is great and the conditions are great here.
Service: The boss is very nice
When you go out of the hotel, turn left and go up to the ticket office, which is very close.

Very satisfied, the meal is very sufficient, Tibetan pork is given so much!
When I went to the scenic spot, the boss asked me to park the car in their yard first, so as not to pay 5 yuan for parking when I drove up. It was really heartwarming.
I had a problem with the car on the way to Daocheng Aden last night. I just got rescued and was late for comments. At the same time, I suggest you not to go to Shangri-La to Daocheng Aden. The SUV is OK, the car is really not good.

It seems that the preparations for the newly opened hotel are not yet in place, but it does not affect the stay experience. There is floor heating and plenty of hot water. The location is good, not far from the gate of the scenic spot. The boss is very nice and will respond to reasonable requests. Provide a small guide. It takes about half an hour to walk from the hotel to the highest observation deck of Baishuitai.

It is a farmhouse inn. There is a restaurant on the first floor. The taste is relatively ordinary and the price is not cheap. The room space is quite large, and there is always water on the sink. The boss wants to take a look.

Perfect
AaiezzatulAll i can say this hotel is very perfect stay for our Yunnan trip!
This hotel truly exceeded all our expectations! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by its cleanliness and the warm, friendly atmosphere created by the staff. The service is nothing short of excellent—they even offer complimentary pick-up and drop-off to the train station, which made our journey so much easier.
The hotel provides everything you need for a comfortable and luxurious stay. The room is spacious, with a big TV screen and a cozy sofa for relaxation. The thoughtful amenities include a heated floor and bed, which were perfect for the cold weather. Even the toilet seat has a heater and a bidet, making it incredibly convenient and comfortable. They also provide additional oxygen in the room—a great touch, especially for those who might feel the effects of high altitude.
The views from the hotel are absolutely breathtaking! Imagine waking up to stunning mountain scenery, lush green grasslands, and sheep grazing peacefully—it’s like a dream come true. To make our stay even more special, they upgraded our room for free to one with a luxurious bathtub!
For Muslim travelers, this hotel is incredibly accommodating—they provided us with a delicious vegetarian breakfast, so we felt completely at ease. However, please be mindful when sitting on the sofas as their adorable, friendly dog loves to sit there too and might come to greet you. Their dog is super cute and playful, adding a warm and homey touch to the stay!
One of the most delightful surprises was that the hotel provides traditional Chinese costumes for free! We had so much fun dressing up and taking beautiful photos. It made us feel like royalty from an ancient Chinese dynasty—truly a unique and unforgettable experience.
Despite the language barrier, the staff were incredibly helpful in accommodating our needs. They went above and beyond to assist us, offering suggestions, pinpointing locations, and ensuring we had everything we needed. A big thumbs up to the staff member whose picture I shared (unfortunately, I forgot to ask her name). The hotel owner should truly give her credit for her exceptional service—it made our stay even more memorable!
This hotel is located near the stunning Napahai Lake, not Dukezong Ancient City. If you’re planning to stay close to Dukezong, this might not be the best choice. But trust me, you don’t need to stay near Dukezong—this hotel is so good, it’s worth being a little further away. The peaceful surroundings, incredible service, and top-notch amenities make it more than worth it!
Another fantastic perk is the nearby e-bike rental. We rented bikes and had an amazing time exploring the beautiful Napahai area and enjoying the serene countryside.
I highly recommend this hotel, especially for travelers from Malaysia. It’s the perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and hospitality. Trust me, you won’t regret staying here—it’s a memory you’ll cherish forever!
Sorry I don’t take too much photo, a lot of videos only. So cannot share here.
JJayyesjessThis homestay is the best! Very recommended 👌🏻 the host is very accommodating. The location is just perfect. It’s near to everything. There’s bed warmer and floor heater and the toilet comes with automatic bidet. There’s washing machine and even extra jackets that can be borrowed from the hotel as we undermine the cold in Shangrila the puffer jacket we borrowed really help us a lot with the cold. There’s pickup and dropoff service for free to and fro the Railway Station. The room that we book is really nice and the view is also nice. Please stay here if you come to Shangrila. You won’t regret it.
GGuest UserThe room is quite big, with an oxygen machine, you can breathe it if you feel uncomfortable, not far from the big prayer wheel, you can walk there
Facilities: The basin is not well designed, the water will gradually splash onto clothes if it is turned on, the toilet sensor is broken, everything else is good
Service: The guy at the front desk is quite good, and there is also a local female service staff who cleans the house is also quite good
XXiaoguixifeifeiThe owner of the inn is very kind. He even came to pick me and my friend up at the high-speed rail station when we arrived at 11pm! Then when we left, the boss got up at 6 o'clock in the morning to take us to the high-speed rail station. When we arrived at 11 o'clock in the evening, the boss helped us get in touch with us to take a ride to the Meili Snow Mountain to see the Rizhao Jinshan Mountain. We arrived at the B&B and drank fruit and butter tea! The sanitary environment is very good! The equipment is all brand new and said to be newly opened this year! Highly recommend everyone to stay here
JJate SopitpongstornA Truly Memorable Stay at ”Under the East Fence of Shangri-La Napahai Nature Reserve”
I recently had the pleasure of staying at ”Under the East Fence of Shangri-La Napahai Nature Reserve,” and I cannot recommend this place enough! From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and cared for by the host, Guozi, who is one of the kindest and most thoughtful people I’ve ever met.
Guozi went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. She upgraded me to a larger room than what I had booked, which was such a lovely surprise. The room itself was very cool — equipped with all the latest Chinese technology, including automated curtains, voice-controlled lighting, TV projector, screen, and a music system. The heated floors were an absolute treat, especially in the chilly Shangri-La weather.
The view from the room was simply breathtaking, with a full window wall overlooking the stunning landscape of the Napahai Nature Reserve. Waking up to such a view was an unforgettable experience.
Guozi’s hospitality didn’t stop there—she even made tea for me, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere. The dinner is simple and delicious. Great coffee and Chinese breakfast in the morning. On the day of my departure, her husband kindly drove me to the railway station, which was incredibly helpful and saved me a lot of stress.
Another highlight of my stay was meeting Hong Gongzi (The Red Prince), their adorable and majestic Alaskan Malamute. He’s a huge, fluffy, and gentle giant who added so much joy to my visit. If you’re a dog lover, you’ll absolutely adore him!
The location itself is stunning, nestled near the Napahai Nature Reserve, offering breathtaking views and a peaceful environment. It’s the perfect place to unwind and connect with nature. It is located well away from town.
Overall, my experience at this home stay was exceptional, thanks to Guozi’s warmth, the luxurious and tech-savvy accommodations, and the charming company of Hong Gongzi. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Shangri-La and hope to return one day!
GGuest UserFeifan Hotel is conveniently located in Shangri La Old Town (Dukezong) and is fully accessible by car/taxi, which can drop you off right in front of the hotel. The hotel is tastefully decorated, paying homage to the town's Tibetan's roots, which is what makes the hotel very charming to me. The room itself is very clean comfortable to stay in, the amenities and kits provided are more than plentiful. The floors in front of the bathroom are also heated, which is very surprising (I wasn't expecting that). The loveliest aspect of my stay would have to be the kind hotel staff who were very helpful and welcoming to us starting from our arrival (the cups of warm tea was very relieving during the cold night). A couple of hotel staff members can converse in English, which was very helpful for us as we are foreign tourists. I appreciated the conversations I had with a staff member during breakfast about the various foods that was on offer. I also appreciated the little gift that was given to us when we checked out as the hotel staff seemed to notice that I did enjoyed several cups of butter tea during my breakfast and the help with arranging a car to transport us to the train station. Overall, I am very impressed with our stay here and would not hesitate at all to recommend anyone to stay here. It is worth it!
SSnoopy KBest-in-class hotel. Enjoyed a free upgrade to better room with a scenic view. We were also given late check out and a free ride to the train station. The staff provided excellent service throughout our stay. Our driver James Zhou is a young, friendly and helpful guy who shared tips on trekking.
GGuest UserThe best thing about this hotel is the view from the room. Unfortunately, that's as good as it gets! I really don't understand why it has such good reviews as I don't think it deserves them. Our room was really dirty - the first thing I saw when I walked in was dirt on the floor and clumps of hair in the corner by the furniture as well as hair on the floor. The most revolting thing was the bath mat on the floor - the parts of it that should have been white were a very dirty brown - it obviously hadn't been washed in many months. The ”fitted” sheets on the bed had bleach stains on them and they didn't fit the bed properly as they didn't tuck under the mattress which meant it came loose during the night. The mattress was very uncomfortable (hard and lumpy) - there was no mattress protector on the bed or protectors on the pillows. The walls are paper thin and, unfortunately, we had three very loud and excitable young women next door to us who talked and laughed very loudly until after midnight on all three nights we were there. The room wasn't serviced for the 3 nights we were there and we had to ask for extra toilet paper and water as they didn't put any in on the first day. We also had to empty our own bins and ask them to come and collect them from outside our door. The staff were friendly enough, but they seemed to spend all day on their phones lounging around in the rather untidy and dirty looking reception area. All the common areas were dirty too - the staircase hadn't been vacuumed any time recently as there was dirt on every stair. The place has a very neglected and uncared for feel about it which is a real pity as it could be lovely if some time and effort was put into making it clean and tidy and updating the furniture and bedding. It seems that the staff are very bored with their jobs and have no interest in keeping the place nice for customers.
MMarkGreat hotel on the top of a hill looking across the town. The room was spacious with views, the bathroom area large. The staff were helpful when approached and always smiling.
The walk to the hotel is challenging at night when the air is damp. We purchased some oxygen from the grumpy man's shop at the bottom of the hill, which eased the walk. The staff assisted carrying our bags up and down the hill whenever required, which was great.
Unfortunately, they didn't clean our room during our 3 night stay, which meant we had to ask for toilet paper each day, and the toilet bin never got emptied.
GGuest UserI was skeptical about TeaHorse at first due to the lack of reviews but this turned out to be a wonderful stay! We stayed here overnight on our 2 day hike through the Tiger Leaping Gorge.
We upgraded to the Deluxe Standard Room (for extra 50 CNY) since the room is newer and slightly bigger. The ensuite toilet was basic but very clean. The beds were also heated and the aircon could be used for heating and cooling.
The guesthouse also runs a restaurant cooking homecooked meals and a cafe/bar boasting a beautiful view. We felt that the view from TeaHorse was better than the one at Halfway House, which seems to be the more popular resting spot amongst hikers. The view of stars from the cafe viewpoint at night is also amazing.
The staff helped us book a return bus to Lijiang, which left from Tina’s guesthouse the next day. Tina’s was a 4h hike from TeaHorse and we boarded the bus back to Lijiang Old Town with no problem.
Overall a lovely stay and would highly recommend this room as an overnight rest point for hikers.
