The hotel environment is absolutely good, the facilities and services are also good, and there could be more dining options. Greci at the front desk is very good and she is very patient even though our English is not good. The transportation reservation department is unreliable. I booked transportation very early, but there was no proactive contact in advance, let alone Make preparations, wait until I get in touch and have to communicate the details multiple times via email and phone calls, it’s tiring! The driver's phone number provided was wrong, and what was even more outrageous was that the previous price was temporarily overturned, and the management was chaotic and self-destructive...

1. If you are lucky, you can see various animals come to drink water
2. The two women at the front desk of the hotel are very average, but the others are very nice
3. It is strongly recommended to stay in a hotel beyond, it is better than here hahaha

One of the best experiences of my life! I was planning a safari for my 60th birthday and convinced our best friends to join us. Little did we know/expect that this was one of the most memorable experiences that we could do. I started planning the trip several months in advance. I worked with Adela in Reservations. She was reliable and always responded in a timely manner. I not only booked the rooms through Adela, but she helped suggest, plan and coordinate all of our activities while we were at the lodge (8 days), including our flights to/from Kilimanjaro to the Seronera air strip. We were met at the Seronera air strip by our driver for the week, Deo. Greeted with sparkling wine, Mimosa's juices, sandwiches and more, Deo was wonderful. He made our magical trip so much better (more later). Our 1 hour trip to the Lodge was a our first game drive. Seeing elephants, giraffe, zebra and wildebeests, among other animals for the first time in their own habitat was remarkable beyond words. Deo explained so much to us about Serengeti, the 'circle of life', respect for the animals, culture and surrounding. We could not wait until our next 'real' game drive... We arrived at the Lodge and were greeted by Masai and staff. A cold towel and delicious cocktail also were welcomed. We were checked in by Grace, a Front Desk wonder. She was kind, hospitable and very accommodating. Grace coordinated our check-in with aplomb, making the entire experience effortless. Almost daily, we would interact with Grace when we would leave for a game drive or return back. Her smile was infectious and her customer service, exemplary! While in Serengeti, we did half and full day game drives to different parts of the Serengeti. We did a Balloon safari, day trip to Ngorongoro Crater, visit to a Masai village, a Bush dinner and so much more. Adela did such a wonderful job organizing everything and Deo assisted by making recommendations on what to do and where to go on each game drive. Our room at the Lodge was large and very comfortable. A large closet and bathroom were clean and spacious. We had a large terrace overlooking a watering hole, where we saw so many animals close by and zebras drinking and cooling off. There were no complaints and the nightly turndown service always included fresh water, a cloth for cleaning glasses and a leather cord keeper for our many phone and electronics. The Lodge is all-inclusive for food and drink. This also included our sumptuous lunches each day while on safari. AMAZING! There were three restaurants with different menus. One restaurant even had a nightly Masai show during dinner. Our weather was near perfect. Because of this, we preferred to dine outside each evening. The staff were so accommodating that they offered us to enjoy dinner from the menus of any restaurant, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We enjoyed a Bush dinner on our last night. A private chef, wait staff and armed ranger to keep us safe, the foo

Response from Property: Thank you for taking the time to leave such a comprehensive review. You really embraced the safari life and got to experience so many of the highlights that the Serengeti has to offer - one of the benefits of staying for a longer period as you did. We are sure that this trip left many experiences in the memory banks and hope that should you return to East Africa for another adventure, that we get to welcome you back for a stay.

We just settled in at the airport and couldn’t help but reflect on the incredible hotel service we experienced during our stay, which we believe is the best we've encountered anywhere in the world. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the radiant Glory and Ashley, who made our visit truly memorable as we celebrated our 15th anniversary. They ensured we felt the love throughout our stay. It was a pleasure to meet the hotel manager Mathew, who was not only welcoming but also a treasure trove of knowledge, and it was wonderful to connect with a fellow Sydneysider all the way in Africa. This lodge exemplifies five-star service. Every staff member made a point to learn our names or had done their research to introduce themselves personally. The rooms are impressively spacious, and no matter which one you book, you'll enjoy unparalleled views of the stunning Serengeti landscape. Each room is beautifully appointed, epitomizing luxury. We absolutely adored the facilities, and the food was spectacular, especially while watching the sunset over the Serengeti. Alex at the pool was fantastic, accommodating all our requests, while our dining experience at Boma was made even more special by our attentive waiter, Daniel. Though we were sad to have such a short stay, we wholeheartedly recommend this location and hotel for anyone seeking unparalleled luxury in the Serengeti.

Fours Seasons had a fantastic location in the Serengeti with views from all rooms and dining areas/pool. Each room had a private pool and lounge and then the main pool for all guests. We cut our safari day short just so we could relax a bit by the pool. (we defiantly needed a break from the bumpy jeep after 3 days) Really nice accommodation if you can afford it.

Response from Property: Thank you for choosing Four Seasons Safari Lodge in the Serengeti for your recent stay. We appreciate the kind words and guidance for others. Safai is a once in a lifetime experience, but it is also as important to take some time to rest and relax, especially at a Lodge with as many conveniences as Four Seasons. We hope that if you return to East Africa in the future, that we can look forward to welcoming you back.

Very Good

Where to I begin with this review, some things were incredible but other things let down the experience overall. To start with, the good: The hotel is impressive and offers a range of services, particularly if you have time to relax. After almost 2 weeks of travel it was a nice place to unwind. The spa was lovely and our massages were 5 star! The pool and bar were amazing, especially the view of the waterhole. The food options were good (3 restaurants) but breakfast was definitely the best. The onsite museum was great to spend time looking through. The rooms had good aspects, we booked a waterhole view which had a great view, big bed, large balcony and bath. Later we were upgraded (due to some mishaps, see below) to the suite with a private pool which was very impressive! Now the not so good: The service was hit and miss as other reviews pointed out. The staff were all lovely but our first night at dinner we ordered 4 courses. The mains came out before the starter and entrees and then when informed them it took over 45 minutes for bring our the starters, and they only brought out 1 instead of one each… they the offered to bring out the rest but by that point we just wanted to shower and sleep. Then came the next issue, we get back to our room, start the bath and halfway though filling we realise it’s cold - no hot water! Reception send staff to fix it and after an hour of having three staff in our room when we just wanted to sleep they tell us it would be at least another 2 hours to fix (it’s 11pm at this point). At that point we just went straight to reception and relayed our concerns. We understand these things happen and appreciated them listening and resolving the issue by upgrading our room to the suite, but unfortunately it wasn’t available that night so we had to go to a downgraded room the first night just so that we could shower and sleep. Caused a lot of unpacking/repacking etc. and we were disappointed they didn’t offer to move us sooner or offer any other remedies. A few other negatives: - the food was hit and miss and some staff relayed information wrong (menu options, opening times etc) - the staff were sometimes too attentive, we were interrupted every meal by a manger checking in to see if everything was good, sometimes multiple times a meal. We appreciate this but sometimes less is more. - the place feels like a big hotel and it is packed full. The walls are not thick so we could hear neighbouring rooms (tv, talking etc.) - the staff appear to be given ‘western names’ rather than using their traditional names as they did at all the other places we stayed.
Response from Property: Thank you for choosing to stay with Four Seasons Safari Lodge in your recent safari adventure in the Serengeti. Your detailed review is appreciated. We apologise for the experience with the water and glad that we found a positive resolution. Overall, we trust that you had a memorable stay and had a thoroughly relaxing time after a two-week travel adventure.

Our stay at the Four Seasons Serengeti was absolutely phenomenal, and a big part of what made it so special was the incredible hospitality we received from General Manager Marisa. From the very beginning until the end of our stay, Marisa went out of her way to ensure we felt welcome and cared for. From the moment we arrived, Marisa greeted us with a warm smile and made sure that every detail of our stay was perfect. Her genuine warmth and attentiveness set the tone for the entire experience, making us feel right at home in the heart of the Serengeti. Throughout our stay, Marisa regularly checked in to see how we were enjoying our time and made sure that any requests or needs we had were promptly addressed. The lodge itself is stunning, with luxurious accommodations that blend beautifully with the natural surroundings. The service from the entire team was exceptional, and it was clear that Marisa’s leadership and passion for hospitality were reflected in every aspect of the hotel. Our experience at the Four Seasons Serengeti was truly unforgettable, and Marisa’s personal touch made it all the more memorable. We cannot recommend this hotel enough and are already looking forward to our next visit!
Response from Property: Thank you for your review. We’re thrilled to hear that your stay at the Four Seasons Serengeti was as phenomenal as you hoped it would be and that Marisa’s hospitality made it even more special. Your kind words about our team and accommodations mean a lot to us and we look forward to welcoming you back for another unforgettable experience should you return to the Eastern part of Africa for a safari again.

- - - I was expecting more… I was really looking forward to visiting this hotel because it is under the Four Seasons brand and for me that means unquestionable quality, however, it saddens me to see that the hotel has areas of opportunity even though the staff is very friendly, they know your name and are attentive but it is not enough, there is something that is still missing and needs to be improved, it does not compare with other Four Seasons that I have visited but I will be more specific, the sauna room at the Spa is ugly it is tiny 1 m by 80 cm, very uncomfortable, it looks like a normal bathroom, the truth is we did not live that experience that we were expecting in a Four Seasons Spa, and for a very good price, the massage sincerely felt like a normal massage, it was not something that we said, this is fabulous, incredible or maybe the expectations we had of a hotel of this level are much higher, but the worst thing about the spa were the flies that came in droves because we had the windows open, without any aroma and without music other than the fluttering of the flies in my ears ... the menu has few vegetarian options (they asked you before you arrive what do you prefer to eat I do not see something different considering my options I wrote) also It seems that sometimes the staff at the bar is not enough because of

Where can start? I’ll start with the good, the staff was very welcoming from start to end. The hotel was also very clean and the food was ok, my favorite was the African restaurant they have, which you must make reservations. Lastly the safari was defiantly worth every penny , plus at all times i felt safe as well. Now, let get to bad things. By 8pm you have to be in your room due to the bugs, u cant enjoy your balcony because of all the bugs. In 3 days in the hotel, not even 1 day we were able to enjoy the pool, it was either raining or the pool was to cold, i think of how expensive the hotel is they should invest on a heater for the pool, my opinion they want it that way you can be put everyday your staying in some type of safari. The all inclusive food menu is very limited and the drinks well I only had one. The bar for the all inclusive is bad, bad rum and bad vodka… very sad. Our flight got cancel for the third time from the local airport to Arusha, so we were concerned not being on time for out flight back home, so we requested a taxi from the Hotel to Arusha and they wanted to charge us $1600 for 2 people. Which we found out, is only a $25 ride for the locals to get back to Arusha. That was the biggest rip off. Lucky we were able to arrange another flight but a day earlier, so we even lost a day at the hotel. It was always something i wanted to do, and i finally did it, at the same time this is a place i never plan on coming back too. The Four Seasons has a monopoly and want to charge your x amount for the most minimum. I personally don’t recommend , one last thing I would like to thank Navina at the four season, shes one of the managers, she did try her best to do what she can within her limits for the lost of money we had here in the serenguetti.

We spent 3 nights at this hotel and really enjoyed the experience. Food was excellent and service was great. The gym was pretty good for being in the bush. We ate at all the restaurants and had no bad meals. In fact, the buffet dinner by the pool was the best we had in Africa. The room decor was nice and the room and balcony were spacious.
Response from Property: Thank you for choosing Four Seasons Safari Lodge in the Serengeti as the base for your stay. The feedback is appreciated, and we are delighted to hear of all the positive aspects of your stay, especially that we would be bestowed the honour of serving you your best meal whilst in Africa. We love to hear that. Thank you and we hope to see you again if you visit East Africa once more in the future.

It is one of the most expected stay of our one-week safari game driving trip which we especially request to have a stay in view of the reputable brand and its renowned high quality. The location was good and the decoration was fabulous, room and services were great to be honest. However, the dinner had disappointed us the most, we were having our first dinner at Nuru Restaurant. Other than the mains of perch and pork ribs , we ordered an ostrich carpaccio as an appetiser as it was rarely seen in other restaurants. The quality was far from satisfactory, it tasted like cured meat and heavily sprinkled with salt and pepper, it was too salty to be eaten that we had to reflect to this waitress and leave most of the dish untouched. A replacement was made, it was with no salt but still taste like ham. Not to mention the mains were of standards which you found in a chain restaurant. Pork ribs were not tender, perch was a bit overcooked and without a taste of freshness. The catering downgraded the whole experience a lot. It was not one of the meals that you are expecting for a five star lodge and it was not reflecting the price it charges. Yet we appreciated that the catering management came to understand our comments at the end of the meal and sincerely attended to us. On the second day, food was better, perhaps due to less bookings of stay there, anyhow, food was still of mediocre standard. Merits went to the customer services and antique design of the lodge.

We traveled here with a large group from A&K. Beautiful hotel, but on the only day we didn't have plans to safari, so the intent was to hang by the pool, relax and have drinks, they began doing a bunch of construction on the outdoor restaraunt deck overlooking the pool. It was noisy and distracting and if you wanted to eat on the pool deck, you had to find a table where you weren't in harms way from the construction crew. And complaints to management fell on deaf ears. Food is OK, not special. Rooms are nice, but it's just another hotel room. They don't have the charm of the other places (5 total) that we stayed.
Response from Property: Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention @ScottTripAdvis. We are sorry that your experience at the lodge did not live up to your expectations on this occasion. A member of the Lodge team is dealing with the matter and will be in touch shortly.

We had a trip of the lifetime, thanks to Four Seasons Serengeti. We spent a week on safari and the service and amenities there were exceptional. Our game guide, Deo, was just the best. He could find the most elusive animals (lions, cheetahs, leopard, giraffe, elephants and more). Deo is incredibly knowledgeable, interesting and patient, and is an excellent driver on the rough roads. And Grace, at the hotel, went beyond in making sure our visit was perfect. Food was great, the room was beautiful with the view of the watering hole and beyond. We loved the bush dinner as well, a really special way to end our week. Would highly recommend the walking Safari as well. Edward is terrific.
Response from Property: Thank you for your review @CindyD307; as you experienced, the staff and lodge facilities make the experience. We are delighted that you got to enjoy so many unique experiences and thanks for sharing your recommendations with other guests.

Amazing. Beautiful lodge in the middle of the Serengeti. The staff makes this place so special. They are so warm and genuine. The Serengeti is beautiful and breathtaking to see animals in their natural habitat. The guides through four seasons are amazing, our guide, Msaki, was the absolute best.
Response from Property: Thank you for staying with Four Seasons Safari Lodge on your recent adventure to the central Serengeti @belizeit2017, we appreciate the kind words. Safari in Tanzania is incomparable to any other destination and we are delighted that the experience took your breath away. Your thanks and kind wishes will be passed onto the team. Hopefully we will see you again in the future when you return one day.
