The place was amazing, and at night, the room was so cool! Even without air conditioning, we had natural ventilation. At least we could take a deep breath in such a beautiful place. Best part it's pet-friendly!

The place is so run down! The road uphill is steeped and rocky. The room is not to what we expected from the picture. It’s really in the jungle! If you are not into insects, mosquitoes and lizards, please avoid this place. There’s no air-conditioner, no toiletries, no coffee/tea like hotel but yet, charge at hotel price! This is the most regretful choice I have made in my life!

A great holiday experience. The staff was very friendly and introduced kitchen utensils. There are also mosquito coils and mosquito oil, and there are mosquito nets on the beds. There is also a large bucket of drinking water, cooking oil and salt. The staff also asked us if we had prepared dinner and breakfast.

Can this hotel see if I write in Chinese? I probably won't go there again. There is no air-conditioning, no matter how beautiful the environment is, it cannot withstand the lack of air-conditioning. After all, we are not on the top of the mountain but in the mountains. It is really fatal to have no air conditioning.

It was prolly our 6th or 7th stay here.Been 10 months since our last stay and they have made some improvements, like lock on the doors! We love it here for a few reasons...... a) Rates here are reasonable compared to others, but u get what u pay for,its NOT a 5-star resort and they dont claim to be one b) there are 3 or 4 villas that are pet-friendly c) u can cook your own food and bring your own drinks d) the 2 pools are great Contrary to some reviews, one can drive a normal car here

We recently stayed at the Tapir House at The Dusun that left me with mixed feelings. The peaceful atmosphere was a definite highlight, offering a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The laid-back vibe added to the overall relaxation, creating a stress-free environment. The pre-ordered meals portions were quite large. However, the absence of curtains/blinds for the Tapir House proved to be a drawback, especially for those who prefer to sleep in when the sun shines brightly. It's a small detail, but it can significantly impact the overall comfort of the stay. Additionally, navigating the terrain to reach the hotel might be challenging without a 4WD vehicle. This could be inconvenient for guests. While the overall cleanliness is satisfactory, I couldn't help but notice that the carpets seem to be neglected, which leaves me not wanting to step on them..

Well if you fancy a getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life, this is the place for you. Arrived and was greeted by the warm and gracious welcome by the host. We stayed at the Perling Air apartment. It was clean and spacious and the kitchen area was furnished with a rice cooker, fridge, cups, bowls, and the requited utensils etc. The bathroom was clean and we had no complaints. it was humid so make sure you bring lots of bottled water. In addition, a water dispenser is provided at the kitchen area. There is dining area which overlooks the mountains which was great and wifi is available. All in all it was a pleasant stay for us, and also when you walk around the Dusun and should you stumble upon durian(s), you can eat them for free at the premises!!

Our family of 10 (aged 13 to 81) booked 3 units, Tapir, Kantan & Lanai for 2 nights in June. This place is surrounded by forest, perched high enough to enjoy views for miles around, with durian trees scattered throughout. We appreciated the fresh air, the incredible scenery, the flora & fauna, the feeling of spaciousness, the cooler temperatures & the fact that we could pick durians off the ground & eat them on the spot. If you detest insects, must have everything working quickly & efficiently (the place is slightly worn & some parts in need of maintenance but generally clean & comfortable), can’t live without wifi, must sleep in air- conditioned rooms & have to be fruitfully occupied with “activities”, then this is probably not your holiday destination. But if you hanker for space, solitude, long periods with nothing to do except enjoy the chirping of birds while reading a book, floating in a pool surrounded by gigantic trees, or just playing board or card games with friends / family, then please drop by for a stay. The manager & staff were friendly & helpful, food was decent, and beds very comfortable. We’ll definitely come back.

Surrounded with trees and plants. You get close to nature with reasonable comfort. The bed room was good. No need aircond as its cool at nite. Lanai house was where i stayed. Enjoyed the seclusion. Insects and bugs are part of the nature package(hahaha). Enter toilet with slippers cos some bugs may be lying around. Staffs were friendly and ready to help. Definitely will plan for a return.

I have been wanting to stay at the Dusun for the longest time and it is always fully booked. Finally managed to book the Tembusu unit. Came with my family - including my 2.5yo toddler and furkid. Stayed 2 nights which I feel was a mistake. For the price I paid RM1,260 for 2 nights was a total rip off. The unit was old and not that clean (until they came and did a room service on the second day). The place was infested with big black ants. What was supposed to be a queen sized bed is small. The mosquito netting was dirty. We didn’t use the netting because it totally cut off the air circulation from the 2 ceiling fans in the room. There’s no air conditioning so thankfully the weather was a little cooling when we came. There’s no windows in the room but we were fine with that. So it is basically and open concept. The room is just a totally basic chalet unit, and really really nothing to shout about. The walk way to the unit is horrible. The walk path is covered with moss and so it is super slippery after rain. There was tree branches blocking the walkway which you have to try to avoid. I had a bad fall because of that and made a complaint but nothing was done throughout my stay. The only plus points are: 1. The caretakers were very friendly and helpful 2. The breakfast was pretty nice. Simple but sumptuous. We had nasi lemak and pancakes (which were amazingly fluffy). It came with coffee and watermelon juice and guava 3. Pet friendly! I mean I don’t mind the place but not the price you have to pay per night. The price you pay is ridiculous and the stay is just not worth it. Perhaps it is just the Tembusu unit and maybe just maybe the other units could be in a better state.

Came here for three nights as part of our Honeymoon and had a wonderful experience. More like glamping than a hotel - you will be completely surrounded by nature. There will of course be bugs and lizards as it’s just part of the experience being in the rainforest, so be prepared for that. Almost impossible to avoid mosquito bites despite lots of repellants, so would recommend covering up and bringing bite cream with you. We were in Lanai House and it’s really beautiful and secluded, you have your own private bridge leading to the house and a panoramic view of the forest which was stunning. Breakfasts were amazing, possibly the best we had in Malaysia, and a special thanks goes to all the staff who were just fantastic. Managers were extremely responsive to requests and easy to contact via WhatsApp. Resort was also very easy to get to from KL - we got the commuter train and then the Dusun arranged for a taxi for us to and from the train station.
Response from Property: We are so happy you had a good Honeymoon with us. Offering a lush natural backdrop, plenty of privacy, and good food for these special occasions is always a pleasure. Thank you for taking the time to write a review; we appreciate it.
