Sejong Hotel Seoul Myeongdong Reviews

The hotel appears to be struggling financially. Facilities are old and poorly maintained. TV didn’t work well. The toilet didn’t flush. The shower was set up to spray you in the face and leak water all over the floor. Staff seemed stressed and overworked. When I attempted to adjust my booking, nearly a week before my arrival, the hotel rejected my request even after the travel agent agreed and I could see from various websites that rooms were available on my requested dates. I ended up paying for two nights I didn’t even use. There was a big banner outside the door protesting recent laid offs. It’s a good location but there are better options for a similar price in the neighborhood.

Hotel is right by the subway which was very convenient. Staff were all nice and friendly. Hotel is clean with good amenities.

this hotel is horrible and i wouldn’t recommend anybody to stay. we booked this way back before our scheduled trip and we didnt know alot of things happened, which i will briefly elaborate. firstly when we first arrived, we were kinda shocked to find out why are there protesters standing around, and there are boards to protest about this hotel regarding mistreatment and wages issue. You can refer to the photos. we thought of this to be some minor dispute but we were so wrong. after 1-2days of staying, their aircon didn’t start to work, and to our horror, they dont even bother to inform at all. The so called manager on duty, kim myung jun, doesnt give a damn when we called him up and asked for a response. We had to kept asking for alternative and he reluctantly brought up an electric fan which didnt really worked fully. we tried reaching out to trip agent but again, they were unable to do much, other than to meditate the situation with the hotel staff. we managed to switch to another room which we were told that the aircon will work ‘better’ in a few days time, so you probably can imagine how frustrated we are. The only positive points are the hotel looks relatively clean and you can see it from the photos. Location wise it is near mrt but with the amount of flight of stairs, i would give it a miss since there isnt any nearby elevator. by the way, trip.com agent is also not aware that this hotel is no longer 4stars, and due to the protest and ongoing internal problems, they had dropped to 3stars, and trip is still promoting them as 4 stars, and didnt remove them off the listing here, potentially scamming another traveler like me. from this, i can briefly say that, in such foreign land, you are really at their mercy and nothing could be done such as trip. In response they did mention they would compensate us but it’s less than 10% of what we paid for, just so you know if you’re reading this and considering this hotel to book. all in all, i learnt from this experience and i may consider looking for alternative platform since they as a 3rd party, are pretty useless when it comes to situations like this.

The room is tidy and clean ,my vehicle easy parking,Front desk staff are kind and courteous。

Near subway exit. Many shopping and food area. Easy to travel out as well. Hotel is a little old but still clean and well maintained.

Sejong hotel is right outside exit 10 of myeongdong subway. The night market is 5minutes walk from hotel, walkable to Lotte young mall, etc. many choices of meal options mainly Korean. Hotel is clean, bug free and generous bottles of hygiene products in bathroom. Reception staff can improve on friendliness . Airport bus limousine is available nearby and can return and arrive in comfort from Incheon airport without lugging heavy luggage in subway. 👍 Recommended !

Good location! Right in front of the exit no10. Room is clean & big. Quite good!

The room is quite old design. Not very comfortable to stay here. But its location is good. Food options are plenty over here and the shopping as well.

Good location, close to myeongdong business circle and subway station, many shops and restaurants nearby, the daiso flagship store is just at the opposite side of the main road, reasonable price, spacious room, big bed and good showering facilities, good air conditioning, will visit again when come to Seoul

Had a pleasant stay at Sejong Hotel. 2nd time staying at this hotel as it is very convenient. Good location. Near the subway. Walking distance to Myeongdong shopping street, 7-11, CU stores. The airport limousine bus stop is just nearby too. Friendly staffs and daily housekeeping service. Daily fresh hot towels changed with accessories and bottled water, tea, coffee top up. Overall satisfied with our stay at Sejong Hotel. Highly recommended 👍

The location is superb. Exit 10 of Myeongdong Station. However, the room facilities are rather old. Light is too dim and gloomy. Saw there’s a protesting banners outside of the hotel. Maybe there’s some disagreement between management and employees.

was delighted by english-speaking dedicated friendly staff. very helpful with recommendations & directions room was clean & well kept ; shower head & bath tub drain cover can do with change ; sometimes given torn towels (lol) close to airport shuttle that's convenient, also next to subway exit which makes zipping over town a breeze
