Classy stay in the onsen area Jozankei which is about an hour away from Sapporo in the mountains. This general area is a little run down possibly a side-effect of the Covid-19 pandemic and hasn't fully recovered yet. The Grand Blissen was opened during the pandemic and is a very new fitout and quite classy. Luckily you don't have to leave the Grand Blissen if desired as they have a great restaurant, a shop for drinks, snacks and souvenirs and even a bar and library. There are not only private baths as part of your room, there is also a public bath on the lower level. I spent a relaxing day mainly in my room soaking in my private onsen and lounging around my large room with large panoramic windows. The restaurant was quality and the included 7 course dinner was fantastic and their signature dish is the roast beef which is cut at your table. It was perfectly cooked. Would I come here again? probably not unless the Jozankei area gets a bit more activity.

Our Tour Leader has touted that this is the best Hotel throughout our 7-nights stay tour here in Hokkaido! We reached at 6pm and was just in time for dinner. Surprisingly modern and beautiful inside setting compared to the Hotel building front. Quite an impressive dining area that is spacious and offers a generous spread of both Japanese & International cuisine. Everything vying for limited space in out stomach! The 3-star Jozankei Hotel Sapporo provides quick access to Jozankei Hot Spring. This hotel is located in a touristic area of Sapporo. The rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi and while amenities include nice touches include slippers, free toiletries and bath sheets. Only dislike; the TV screen is the smallest we have came across for a while.. It was tatami room and we made our own bed, surprisingly they have a few staff moving around to ask if we need help on setting the bed! More memorable is the Onsen, superb and body relaxing! Had a good session at night… rich minerals to nourish our skin. There was a bonus for us – there is a Jozankei night illumination running these 2 weeks and we got to view it, a 15-mins walk into the town central. Really a visual treat for us all. Fully enjoyed our stay here.

Stayed there for 1 night with breakfast and dinner included. Free shuttle bus from Sapporo is available but was full when we tried to book 1.5 months in advance. The hotel staff suggested we take the paid reservation only shuttle bus (1800 yen return) that stops right infront of the hotel. Room is very big for 2 people despite our room was the smallest on the 6th floor. Big bathroom and has separate toilet. There are 2 floors for onsen. The onsen on the 2nd floor(alternate days for men and women) was nicer and has massage chairs inside the resting area. We’ve also booked the private onsen but the one we’ve booked turned out to be an old pink bathtub. Breakfast was good and has wide range of food. Dinner was average but since we’ve only paid $300 aud for 2 pp for the stay, I wouldn’t complaint. They also have free wine and coffee(machine) certain time of the day which was very nice.

I was very satisfied with my hot spring stay after a long time. The hospitality menu, such as ”honey buffet” in the lounge, was rich, the quality of the spring was smooth, and the amenities were full with a nice scent. The shower nozzle in the large communal bath was ”mirable” and I was able to experience the micromist, and I was able to try it before purchase. The room was renewed a few years ago, everywhere was clean and modern, and the restaurant was lightly partitioned in a small room with 4 pairs, and I was able to eat in a very calm atmosphere. I used a free shuttle bus. The information about the meeting place of Sapporo Station was a little difficult to understand. On the way back, when the shuttle bus departed from the hotel, the car waiting for the traffic light on the public road in front of the hotel slipped in the snow, the female staff who was out to see off the bus immediately rushed and did not hesitate. I was very impressed by the appearance of pushing the car from behind and helping, and I was impressed that it was an inn with a smile and a very nice staff who could worry about it even though it was young. There is also a ”day trip hot spring with lunch” by reservation system, so I definitely want to use it again! (▽`)

We stayed at Jozankei Daiichi Hotel Suizantei in early January 2023 for 1 night - our first time here. We took the Kappa Liner Bus from Sapporo station and it was a very pleasant & scenic ride. Our bus ride was at 1215 noon & it took a bit over an hour. We chose this bus line because their bus stop is directly in front of this hotel. We arrived at approx. 1330hrs. There was a lot of snow on the ground and covering much of the front entrance, the trees, parked cars and the hotel itself. The lobby looks inviting and spacious. Check-in was very efficient. Let me say now that we are from Hawaii and we don't speak Japanese, but if there was any communication problem, it was minimal as most of the citizens here can speak a small amount or understand some English. On the frontside of the lobby is a grand room with many padded chairs & tables for relaxing, reading or conversing. On the left side of the lobby, there's a short stairway going down to a very nice & large lounge area on the right; and, a smaller coffee/pastry area on the left. The pastries here are exquisite & only a limited amount is prepared because this smaller section closes very early after lunch. Now the larger lounge area on the rightside is truly worth exploring. As soon as you enter, there is a long bar/counter where an attendant is always preparing sushi or pasty/small desserts. There is room with sofas & chairs, and self-serve coffee & a variety of teas. In the late afternoon, there is a large variety of beer or sake on tap. There are also several small Tatami-like rooms for small gatherings on the side. Now the best part - everything in this room is complimentary! On the 2nd level is a relaxation lounge area with massage chairs, a restaurant and a very nice large gift shop. I think that there is another restaurant, but it may have been under renovation at this time. After checking in, we walked across the street to a small, quaint Ramen shop. There is a counter for about 6-8 & a few small tables. Looked like a husband & wife operation. The menu was limited, but the food was wonderful (especially with the snow & cold air outside). When we first arrived, there were 3 other people - by the time we left, a crowd was waiting, standing around inside this tiny place. We couldn't venture very far in the neighboring area due to hilly & snowy roadway. This Ramen shop was truly a 'rescue joint' for us hungry, cold travelers. We opted for a room with a private Onsen. Our room was on the 6th floor and at the end of the hallway. This room was beautiful - very large - even the entry area was large. The main room was super spacious, had minimal furniture, but we really loved it. There was a small restroom with toilet and sink. At the end of the hall, there was larger room with a larger sink & shower. The onsen area was fabulous - an entry area for changing with towels, a separate section for washdown before entering the onsen. The onsen was spacious & grand with many windows that could slide o

We had a wonderful stay at Chalet Ivy Jozankei . The location was perfect after a few days skiing in Niseko and spending a day at the Sapporo Ice Festival . The idyllic location takes advantage of its hillside setting overlooking a river. There is a soothing calm to the staff, architecture and decor. We were welcomed by attentive staff that provided delicious complimentary Japanese snacks and drinks in the lobby. The rooms are spacious, modern, and include an in room onsen. We did not try the Spa. We did indulge in a delicious Omakaze dinner in a private room that included kinki fish, turtle soup, Waygu beef and fantastic wines. What a refreshing treat at the end of journey to Hokkaido.

The overall service was excellent, particularly the dinner and the breakfast arrangements. The Private Onsens facilities were extremely impressive. The only area for improvement was the supply of kimonos, as they were not readily available for ladies most of the time. Additionally, more colorful options would be appreciated.

Our third time in the area but stayed here for the first time as most other hotels were more expensive. Sizeable twin room with charming view. Plenty of room amenities. Very hospitable staff. Some spoke excellent English. Buffet dinner and breakfast were luxuorious. We saw four deers eating vitually feets outside the restaurant window during dinner as well as a big raccoon. The Onsen was maintained in the most respectful manner. Free harp concert in the evening was a grateful bonus. We enjoyed thoroughly.

Of this 5-day trip, it was only 1 night and 2 days, but I was able to experience it with color 々. 1. First of all, regarding the time of booking, this time, Haneda-New Chitose - Sapporo-Use public transportation. When I asked for a shuttle bus reservation from Sapporo by phone, I said that the reservation was confirmed first, so I made a hotel reservation by airmail (arrived around 14:00) on the web, and when I called (bus: 14:00, 15:00, It was recognized that it departed at 16:00), but now it is full only at 14:00. Therefore, I am tired of the bus stop near the New Chitose-Sapporo-Makomanai-Hotel 3. First of all, I wanted a guide of ”full seat” only at 2 o'clock. 2. Check-in was smooth (travel discounts were not used), but the shuttle bus to Sapporo tomorrow morning was ”full and I couldn't wait for cancellation.” 3. The room (T / W on the 10th floor) was wider than I imagined (reservation of an inexpensive main building) and was easy to use, but the equipment, closet, bath / toilet, etc. were ”quite old” for a few minutes. However, the view is good in the river side room, There was no difference in use. However, I felt that the safety box and costume tray in the closet were placed on the floor, and that they would be considered and equipped in the user's position by attaching shelf boards. 4. I used the bath on the 1st and 16th floors. It's a large hotel that is not ashamed of, and it can be used by a large number of people, but when using it, there were few users, so I was able to spend my time to my heart's content. There are individual differences, but I felt that the hot water temperature was a little low. 5. Meals (evening and breakfast) were lined up at some counters, but I thought it was unavoidable. The variety was diverse, but honestly, I couldn't feel any characteristics now. For example (dinner), a large amount of steak was prepared and it was at the counter, but the arrangement (grilled, served, decorated position, etc.), and (breakfast) seafood bowl (rice, seafood, etc.) was also served by each person. I prepared only rice (normal and small amounts of 2 seeds) in advance, and felt that the flow of people could be smoothly made, so that it would be fun and delicious. There are also many waiters and waitresses, so why not engage in service plus service such as lowering tableware and serving meals? 6. The next morning, I asked the front desk (whether or not the shuttle bus was available), but the same was true. When I had a copy of the time and boarding guide map of the route bus (a Sri Lankan nationality woman in charge), I would like to thank you for your kind and polite response. 7. The checkout was smooth and good. I asked again to use the shuttle bus to Sapporo, but it was completely full and could not be used. 8. When I came to the front door to go to the bus stop, a Sri Lankan woman who asked at the front desk in the morning flew and told the driver of the shuttle bus to Sapporo that had just stopped. Negotiate the possibility of boarding 々 did. As a result, I was able to board the shuttle bus. There were still many vacant seats on the bus 々. No matter how much service bus I felt, I didn't care about the front desk, but I was grateful and impressed by the wonderful response of this woman who flew to the front door! !! !! 9. Therefore, I arrived at Sapporo Station in about 45 minutes, and I was able to save an hour from the route bus and subway, and I was able to go to the next accommodation, Otaru.

Okujozankei Onsen Kasho Gyoen is a haven of winter enchantment. The private onsen in our room unveiled a mesmerizing snowscape, creating a serene retreat. Dining was a culinary journey in a private room, with each dish a masterpiece. The attentive staff elevated our experience, their warm attitude leaving an indelible mark. A special flower arrangement for my proposal added a touch of magic. The breathtaking views of the lake and snow-laden trees completed the idyllic setting. Okujozankei Onsen Kasho Gyoen is a gem where luxury meets nature, crafting an unforgettable escape. We eagerly anticipate our return to this winter wonderland.

AAnonymous UserLoved our stay at this hotel. The breakfast was good. Hot spring was not too crowded and the room was clean. Location was a bit further from the shopping area and restaurants but it was near the main station.
GGuest UserSusukino and Odori are both very good location within walking distance. Also, it is a clean hotel because it is shallow. 24 Coffee for time is also good. However, the 1500 yen breakfast was a bit poor. 1 It is a buffet in the lounge on the floor. If you pay this amount, it is better to have a morning at a nearby coffee shop. At the height of Corona, he brought a luxurious breakfast to his room, but I wanted him to be revived. I'm sorry I can't eat it.
GGuest UserLocation is great, within 10 mins' walk from Sapporo JR Station and shopping malls. You can choose buffet or Japanese breakfast and the buffet breakfast has various choices of food, but I hope the Japanese one can be changed more frequently. Staff are nice and helpful and able to speak English fluently.
I would like to give this hotel a higher score, but unfortunately I cannot because there are too many little problems with the experience. On a positive note, the rooms are comfortable, perhaps not that large compared to normal Marriott standards, but not tiny either. However, there are just too many frustrating negatives at the hotel. For example: 1. There is a large difference in English language confidence amongst the front-desk staff. Some staff are fluent English speakers, but many other staff struggle with very basic English requests and so you end up with, for example, being recommended to go to a Conbini if you want to eat late, instead of suggesting a local ramen restaurant, many of which are open until 3am ! For an international brand hotel that clearly expects international customers, far more effort should be placed on improving the English language fluency of front-of-house staff, in particular the front-desk staff. 2. There is no comfortable lobby-style area to sit and work quietly. There is a cafe, but you cannot sit there unless you order, and if the cafe is closed, then you have zero seating options. 3. The cafe only servers Hokkoaido wines by the bottle. If you want wines by the glass, you have to order French wine. In my opinion this is a serious missed opportunity to showcase what Hokkaido has to offer. 4. On my first day here, housekeeping staff walked into my room unannounced. Fortunately I was dressed and about to leave the hotel for tourism. But housekeeping staff really need to learn basic protocol ! 5. There is no comptentent concierge at this hotel. Fortunately I am a regular visitor to Japan, so I am happy to cope on my own. But if you are thinking of staying at this hotel hoping to have the assistance of a competent concierge, you will be disappointed. For example, today I tested the front-desk asking for help reserving a restaurant, they just suggested I do it online... gee, thanks guys ! Ultimately none of these problems are insurmountable with proper training and other improvements. But for a hotel of this calibre, they equally should not have been problems in the first place, they are the sort of things that should automatically be there.
DDamien YuExceptional hotel experience! The hotel staff exceeded my expectation to a 5 stars hotel! I wrote a letter to the hotel to show my gratitude to their services! I would definitely recommend Premier Hotel of Nakajima Park to anyone! The hotel is well maintained even it is not as new. Staff are helpful!! The breakfast was outstanding and they provide a main course alongside buffet! Daytime free drink and soup at the lobby restaurant! Nakajima Park right at the door, fresh air and ponds and woods cleanse my body and spiritually!
RRobertoWe had a great stay at Best Western Odori Koen in Sapporo. It was close to the subway station and just a short walk from where you get off if you ride the bus from the airport. The staff was warm and accommodating, the whole property was clean, and we appreciated that there was a couple of wash and dry laundry machines on the second floor. Highly recommending this hotel for anyone who’s coming to Sapporo!
YYuk YinThe hotel is conveniently located, just a 10-minute walk from the JR station. There is an entrance to the underground shopping street right next to the hotel, making it easy to reach nearby attractions, even in cold weather. The only downside was the attitude of one front desk staff member, who was not very courteous.
77samuraiWe visited Sapporo for the snow festival in Feb 2020. We selected the Leopalace based on location/price and reviews. On arrival, due to the weather and late night we decided to take a taxi to the hotel, this cost about Y1000. (after our stay it was fine weather, so we walked back to the JR station which took about 15 minutes). NB - neither my wife or myself speak Japanese, just a few phrases. Check in at the hotel was easy and straight forward, and we were directed to lifts behind reception. Our room was clean and spacious by Japanese standards. We chose not to book breakfasts, we were there for the snow festival so there was a huge variety of fresh market style food available. The hotel was a very short walk from the main avenue where the festival is held. There is 7/11 located on the corner of the hotel and also a long shopping arcade a couple of minutes walkaway. We wanted to use the hotels spa facility which is shown to be on floor 9. we put on the robes provided but having taken the lift up to floor 9 we found only bedrooms. so we called reception and mistakenly asked for direction to the onsen (we should have said public bath) because we asked for the wrong thing we were told the hotel does not have an onsen and then they hung up the phone. So I changed in to regular clothes went to reception and eventually worked out that the only way to the spa was via another lift in reception. Because we had to walk through reception we elected to wear regular clothes which was fortunate because eonce we found the spa area there were large signs telling you in English) not to wear your robes in reception, of course by the time you read that in the spa you would have already walked through reception. I don't mind if there is little English signage but if you take the time to have English translations put them where they can be of use - IN THE ROOMS. (oh and you need to take the towels from your room to use in the spa too) . We found the room temperature very comfortable and both slept well during our stay. We asked the reception to make a dinner reservation for us at a popular restaurant for our second night, this took a little while as initially they assumed we wanted to book into the hotel resturant, but once we passed this confusion they reception were very helpful. Making sure we had our booking reference and even showing us on a map where it was (even though we already knew this). Other than the phone call about the onsen/bath we found the reception staff very friendly and willing to help.
CChong ThowHotel location within walking distance to Sapporo train station. Seicomart is just opposite hotel. The room was clean daily. Onsen on Level 2 was an added bonus after a long, cold day outside. Reception staff helpful even with their limited English
KKingsley Chi ShengThe hotel is a short walk from Sapporo station. Even in the winter when the roads are snowy, the hotel is easy to walk to and there's a convenience store just half a block away.
I stayed here two nights with my wife and two-year old daughter. Check-in process was very standard and I had no complaints. Room was quite comfortable to be in and didn't feel stuffy at all. We didn't make use of any of the facilities nor did we have breakfast there but our overall experience there was A+.
There are a couple of restaurants in the front and they seemed to be pretty popular with locals and tourists alike, being pretty much at full capacity every night I was there. The food looked pretty good too.
There is a little shop in the lobby that sells a lot of stuff catered to tourists, which was appreciated as it was convenient to buy some snacks and goodies before our trip to the next city.
