Ibis Sao Paulo Barra Funda

Great stay! Ibis Barra Funda have the greatest location close to all my commitments during business travels. Kitchen is great!!! As a remark, I believe Ibis should reward frequent guests; a matter of loyalty but they don’t. The previous Accord rewards is gone; the new one totally doesn’t work. They do not even offer a bottle of water or similar amenity to an arriving guest. Simply they do not care anymore.

Having read reviews about this hotel I expected 3 star basic, and this is exactly what I got. I was only staying for one night, so it was adequate. Arriving later in the evening we did check in quickly and got to the room. It was clean but old. Everything looked like it could benefit from renewing, refreshing or just revamped. Bathroom had seen better days but what could have been easily improved was the towels. Practically thread bare, and the bedding was thin and worn, just disappointing. Windows were extremely dirty and balcony door was sealed shut for Health and Safety Purposes. It didn’t make the room feel comfortable and definitely not relaxing. Gym was very basic and again in need of replacing machines and an update would be beneficial. Breakfast was also basic. Bread choice was the best thing about it but there was little in the way of appetising items. It was breakfast and nothing else. I took what I needed to fuel up but I didn’t feel treated at all which as a tourist in a foreign country I like to ‘want to try local food’ this didn’t happen here. Good thing – staff are friendly and helpful Would I stay again - No

The room was good and the breakfast was very rich. The surrounding environment is safe and it is convenient to eat around. There is a large shopping mall and subway station nearby.

We are in a combined room, two rooms with a couple bed and two single beds. Positive points: comfortable, spacious accommodation. It has shampoo and free conditioning and good shower. Breakfast with many options. Chocolate cup bonus to place in the cakes. Parking including with manufacturer and good location, near the Republic station. All educated and performing staff. We need to print a voucher and the reception staff were gentle and helped us promptly. In addition to the common areas, you only travel by your floor (to use the lift you need to have the card). Negative points: Surface cleaning in the room. My daughter used a hair thread on the floor of the room, and the hair was unclean; and I found hair thread on the floor as soon as I arrived; and the bed clothes are rough, old and yellow; and the hairs are bad. In the morning breakfast, they do not clean the tables as they are unoccupied; you sit down to drink coffee on the dirty table; I don't know if all rooms are like that, but in my windows were locked. That is good for those who are with children, but, on the other hand, it does not breathe.

We came with my partner and my family for two nights in this hotel. No hot water the first night or the next morning. The reception staff, in addition to not seeming to be sorry, turn out to be rather incompetent. We were first given that morning a replacement room card, room OCCUPIED! What a surprise! Unacceptable at all and very annoying.. We were then given a second replacement room card: room with two separate beds, so we went back downstairs. We then asked to speak to a manager. We were very surprised at her incompetence: the latter, while she was certifying that we would finally be given a replacement double room, made us go up a third time to a bad room. We lost at least 1h15 in the morning when we were in a hurry, entered an occupied room, made 3 round trips and the hotel, to our great astonishment, did not give us ANY commercial gesture: no discount on the price of the room, no free glass on the roof top, no box of biscuits on our return on the 2nd day, we were NOT EVEN OFFERED the two bottles of water consumed in the bar in the room. This is absolutely unacceptable! Regarding check-in, if you're unlucky, the receptionist will corner your passport page... I was disappointed not to have an employee to give us a quick tour of the hotel and visit our room. I work for a 4* hotel in France and we do... Housekeeping should be better checked for dust: headboard, frames... (and this for the two rooms we visited) The rooms are quite ”dated” and deserve to be brought up to date. For the positives: The location is amazing, just 1 block from Paulista Avenue. The breakfast is average. Lots of fruit and fresh fruit juices are welcome, but the food as a whole is not really exceptional. The Roof Top is AWESOME! I congratulate the person at the Rooftop reception who, in addition to being more than welcoming to us, gave us a tour of the rooftop explaining everything to us. The place is very beautiful. However, I regret a long service. Thers is musch better 4 stars hotels...
