Sadly, we could only stay here for one night as we were moving on to another venue in Santorini. The correspondence via WhatsApp after booking was excellent, and the staff were extremely helpful, especially with taking our details passport information before we checked in to save time. We did have a late(ish) arrival so we arrived at close to the property around 19.15, where we were met by a member of the Aecon team, and a rather decent fellow who carried our suitcases on his shoulders on can only be described as an unforgiving 6 minute trek to our destination. The property is slick, similar in design and styling to Oia Suites Santorini who are actually the owners of Aecon Suites (My receipt for my stay at Aecon had Oia Suites on the top of the receipt and the staff member confirmed this). We stayed in the windmill itself, which is beautifully presented and the use of space inside is excellent, with a great shower, toilet, kitchen facility, with coffee machine, plates etc, great bed, big TV, and Aircon. Natural light was not great, but ample lighting and power sockets available. The outdoor space was superb, with plenty of seating to relax, in the surrounds of the semi private terrace. The heated jacuzzi is a great addition (comments in the negative section to follow). The main entrance is shared with patrons staying in the larger accommodation just below the windmill, and this is why it is a semi private terrace because people can view you quite clearly when transiting from their accommodation to the exit/entrance gate. The surrounding area is rustic, with some beautiful views of the church, an incredible sunrise, and literally 5 minutes walk from one of my favourite places to eat on the island Metaximas. Would I stay here again, yes, but for a very limited period time, and you need a car for this location. Disliked · A few things to mention that may or may not affect travellers in the future to this beautiful venue. The walk to the venue is in my opinion not suitable for wheelchair users or anyone that struggles with walking / breathing issues. As we arrived in darkness, the pathway was difficult to navigate and so mobile phones / torches were out, and this is where we encountered the first small issue. Overhanging branches from other properties close to the main road did have sap on the leaves and this stuck to our clothing, and this was impossible to notice in the dark. While the use of space is excellent, there is extremely limited space for baggage and suitcases. We had 2 suitcases and 2 small cabin bags. I feel the sofa area upstairs could be removed and the space utilised for baggage storage, because we used this sofa to put our bags on, so the sofa couldn't have been used by us personally to sit on. We did ask if the Jacuzzi had been cleaned, and we were assured it had been, but the photos posted in this review would seriously question this.
