Movenpick is the most cost-effective among the 5 hotels/guest houses we stayed in throughout Uzbekistan. The location is excellent, located at the junction of the old city and the new city, so it is very convenient to go to any attractions! The room was big and clean. Breakfast is very rich!
The only drawback is that the swimming pool is very thin and is suitable for children to play in. In addition, the lockers in the locker rooms are not installed and are almost unusable😅 I only found one that can be locked.

I had the most amazing stay at Hilton Garden Inn Samarkand! Arrived and I was shookethd by how boujie the room was…. Super clean…. Special shoutouts to housekeeper Narmilya! She was so helpful. I met so many amazing staff at the reception too. I didn’t have the best experiences in Samarkand but they were all so lovely and made me feel safe, comfortable and welcome. Thank you especially to Sabina, Mumin, Charos, Doston, Mirali and Dimitry! I had some super helpful room service staff as well but I didn’t get their names! The food was great and affordable. If you’re coming to Samarkand as a westerner it can be a bit scary….. but the staff at HGIS made it so much easier…. I’ve never had a hotel experience where the staff have treated me so well….. I feel privileged and grateful to have met them all and received their service! Thank you HGIS! Love, Sim x

The wonderful hospitable Samarkand began with this hotel. Beautiful, clean, spacious, great breakfasts, cozy courtyard atmosphere, paintings on the walls. Within walking distance of many interesting places - Regestan Square, the Bi-Bi mosque and many others. The only thing is that the bathroom has a small shower area, but this did not affect the overall impression)

I was a little skeptical about the actual quality of the Internet celebrity hotel at first, but from the moment I arrived, I felt that it made sense for it to be popular. The decoration is beautiful, the room is spacious and clean, the bedding is comfortable, the breakfast is rich, the staff is very friendly and the service is attentive.
The location is also good, Registan Square and Bibi Khanum Mosque are within walking distance, and even Shay Zinda can be reached on foot.
The only drawback is that the restaurant is relatively expensive and the taste is average.

hotel was perfectly located with walking distance to many tourist attractions. The rooms are also good with all amenities. The best part is owner and the entire staff are available round the clock to ensure that their guests are well taken care off. In my case, I lost my luggage during my trip from Bukhara to Samrkand. The owner and his staff went above n beyond and within hours had it delivered to me. Once again I take this moment to thank the entire staff for their efforts. if ever i get an opportunity to visit Samarkand in future, this place is definitely going to be my place to stay.

When booking, you cannot select a bed for a child. In the hotel booking system, they see the room as for two, because children are not taken into account in their system, but at the same time you have to pay extra for the child’s bed at the hotel, although it would be more convenient to pay immediately when booking.
The three of us and a 14-year-old child were accommodated in a double room.
But nearby there is a town with restaurants and built. Streets near the old town. The hotel is located outside of Samarkand. There were also difficulties in calling a taxi, they told us one price, then they saw the luggage and the taxi driver added another 40%.

The hotel is relatively new and has a good environment, suitable for strolling around the park. However, the hotel is located in a park of the convention and exhibition center, with only a few hotels and restaurants. It is about half an hour's drive from Samarkand's main attractions and restaurants, but the price-performance ratio is relatively high~

Great experience, beyond expectations. The room was perfect, spacious, and the bathroom was very modern. Only setback was that the TV did not offer many international channels or movies. Restaurants and breakfast were amazing, especially the rooftop bar. Great food. The Kamchatka crab salad and the bread were wonderful. The staff was great, service of high standards. All spoke English and were helpful when we went for sightseing the city, arranging transportation and any other requests. Finally, the Silk Road Project is very nice. Definetely the best place to stay in Samarkand, and it is at the same level of top 5-star brand hotels in Western countries.

Excellent hotel. Thank you very much to all the hotel employees, everyone was extremely friendly and polite with us: reception workers, restaurant workers, as well as maids. Special thanks to the girls from the reception: they recommended places to visit in the city, any questions were resolved very quickly. The hotel is located a little far from the city, which is an advantage for us: the air is very clean, and we sleep well, because... no noise from streets and highways. Beautiful view from the window; in the evenings we walked along the canal and enjoyed nature. Delicious breakfast!

KKhawagaStaying in the Gestah Musavvir has been one of the best experiences of hotels in Uzbekistan throughout the trip to this country. And in this review I would like to express my great gratitude to the host and founder of the Gestah Sanjaro.
Absolutely wonderful man, kind, friendly, open to the world and educated intellectual with excellent English and Russian languages! Always been on communication, helped and made the maximum to make our stay in the gestahous as comfortable as possible.
On several occasions, Sanjar helped us with the advice of an experienced local resident, gave recommendations for the best restaurants and cafes, helped organize an interesting trip to Shahrisabs with the help of his friend, and at prices lower than offered in the city.
Immediately, I want to note this design of both hotel rooms and common zones decorated in a cute lamp retro style. Immediately, Sanjar was visible with love and long collecting an antique collection that became a decoration and a peculiar chip of the gestahous.
In both rooms and in common areas, it is always very clean; everything new, from bed linen to towels. Our room was very spacious, I could even do yoga in the room :-).
There is no breakfast in the Gestapo, but given the huge number of common food points in Samarkanda, it will certainly not be a problem for travelers and will allow to keep very pleasant prices for accommodation in the Gestapo.
As a summary: 100% recommend the gestahous to budget tourists, you can count on the owner's help on any issue of ”local orientation.” If there is a chance to return to Samarkan, I will be very glad to stay again at Sanjara in the Musavvir gestahuse.
As a point of growth, and a drop of fair criticism, I would like to note that a couple of times there were short moments when hot water in the bathroom disappeared, but soon appeared back. If the Gestapo administration solves this problem, to my gesture assessment of 5 points boldly can be added plus!
:-)
GGuest UserThis was a great experience and it was a brand new hotel too located only 2 minutes walk to the railway station. Close to the hotel there is a tram i used every day to go to Registan area and where almost everything you have to see is. This is tram number 2 and the price is only 1500 sum. The breakfast at the hotel is very good and the service too. Very nice people who works at the hotel and they speak english very well. I will recommend this hotel to everyone who read this.
GGuest UserThe boss is very nice. I made a mistake in booking earlier. I called the boss. He was very patient and the service was very good. It’s okay to sleep at night when the hotel is near the roadside. If you sleep in, I don’t recommend staying on the roadside. I left early in the morning and forgot to give you a tip. The boss took a photo. Tajik boss, I wish you a prosperous business.
GGuest UserGood choice! We stayed two nights in the 12beds room. The room was nice and tidy, a.c. was working properly and everyone got a nice bed, with curtains to have some privacy. In the room there are two bathrooms, and both are clean and with functioning showers. There is wifi and you can chill in the courtyard, which is really nice and relaxing. The hostel is not too far from the center and you can reach the incredible Registan in 45 minutes walking. Bear in mind, in summer Samarkand is scorching hot, so it would be better to take a yandex or a bus, asking for Amir Temur. The starting point for the bus is very close to the hostel. We didn't try the breakfast, so we can't comment about that. The host is exceptionally clear and talkative, and can speak english at a really good level He was keen to help us, underlying the main itinerary in Samarkand and suggesting us a really nice restaurant close to the hostel. Really, the host really knows how to make his job. Now, two little notes, amongst all the positive things we mentioned, both notes are referred to the 12 beds room. There are no lockers in the room, but the host was willing to help us, keeping in his office our valuable stuff. He also mentioned that there are plans of adding Lockers soon. The room is very (very) close to the street, so at night you can hear noises from the car passing by. You can sleep quietly with earplugs, but it's something worth to mention. There are plugs to charge your phone close to the bed, and that's nice. All in all a good choice.
MmengluxIt is less than 10 minutes walk from Reggiestan Square. It is close to the central area. It takes about half an hour to go to the train station. It is not far away. The hotel is easy to find on the street. The decoration and facilities are very good, and it is quiet and not noisy. The front desk staff is very fluent in English; Breakfast is on the B1 floor to 10:00 every day. There is hot water and tea to be filled with cups. The variety is relatively rich. Generally speaking, the taste is good, but there will be less fruit when you go late; the room and bathroom are particularly spacious, the furniture is retro, the bedding is still comfortable, and the corridor is cleaned in time; There are small supermarkets and restaurants around, convenient for eating and shopping.
GGuest UserWithin its category, a good hotel with a very good location in the old town from where you can explore the monuments on foot (that's why we chose it). Cross the street and there is the park where the Registan is located. They sent a car from the hotel to pick me up at the airport at dawn and since I got up late, after breakfast, the mother or old lady served me a very tasty snack. I was in two rooms, both very clean and equipped and the bathrooms very good. One room had no light on the nightstand. Good internet connection. The breakfast good. When I left they got me the car to take me to the station at my expense (it was the same guy who looked for me at the airport). Apparently the hotel is run by its owners and they are very friendly. They also changed my money.
SSylvia TeohI didn't take pic of the room as it is basic but spacious enough. The hotel is strategically located in between various sightseeing sites. For travellers who opt for tram and bus, you choose the right location because opposite the hotel just accross the road, there is a tramvay stop and bus stop. Tramvay goes to and for the main train station if you are departing for Tashkent or Bukhara. While bus goes around the city. Take bus 22 to go around the city area such as Registan centre. Take bus 31 to and for airport. Really convenient, affordable, and I highly recommend it.
PPanishaAlways my choice when I’m in Samarkand. The hotel owner was very kind to upgrade my room during my stay. Strategic location to many historical places, shops and restaurants. Overall the room was spacious, comfortable and clean.
GGuest UserAfter a few rough nights at a Soviet hotel, words can’t describe how happy I was to see this hotel. The male receptionist was very welcoming when I arrived as he let me check in a bit earlier after a train ride. The breakfast fulfilled my needs as they have fresh fruits, vegetables, yoghurt, eggs, coffee… no complaint. The guy working at the breakfast area was also very helpful. After I finished gym, I went up there. He immediately asked me if I needed water. It shows that he’s attentive. I felt happy staying there. The reason I booked it was the gym. As an active person, I need to work out on my travels. The gym is not fully equipped but it provides with the basics such as a treadmill, a bike and weights. Location wise, it’s not in the center of the tourist spot but it’s walking distance. It took me 15 min to get to Registan. Don’t worry though as Samarkand is pedestrian friendly.
