We booked for lunch at 1pm, for 4 adults plus 2 young children. The staff were very welcoming and accommodated the needs of our young children with genuine sincerity, going the extra mile during our visit. Overall I would rate this experience very highly......yes, out of season, but extremely attentive. The food was excellent and so was the service, we would definitely go again. Thank you very much!

Lovely birthday lunch at the Ship. We had 2 little boys (3 and 5) with us. The staff were amazing, super efficient and brilliant with the little boys. We can't speak highly enough of the staff, they were so good. Food was amazing, well done chef, and the beer was excellen. I would recommend the Sea Fury.

The staff were lovely and very helpful , especially the young girls working behind the bar and Nettie the following morning. Also, our evening meal was very good. Our room was not satisfactory at all. Firstly, there was a dead fly on the windowsill and the window was filthy. The bathroom was well past its sell by date and needs refurbishing. There were black bits all over the floor and the light over the sink did not work. The worst things however was, firstly, we were told that the heating would be coming on later (we arrived about 4.30) but it never did. It was off all evening and in the morning. It had turned very cold on Saturday and we had a most uncomfortable time whilst in the room. As well as this, during the night I was bothered with lots of tiny bites on both my ankles. All these things wouldn’t have been quite so bad (although unacceptable) if we had paid a cheap price for the room but it was £115 for the night! We go away a lot and we have paid much less for rooms which were 100% better than this one. It is, in fact, the worst room we’ve ever stayed in. Incidentally, as our food had been good on Saturday evening, we expected a good breakfast but the ingredients were not good, burnt bacon and a horrible, cheap sausage. We would not consider staying here again even though we love Lerryn.

The best Sunday lunch in South East Cornwall, everything fresh as a daisy, served by friendly and engaging staff….pudding selection was also very good, atmosphere was really nice with dominoes being played in the bar, will definitely return..

It cost £14.50 for a pint of cider and a small glass of red wine. Really disappointing prices even if it were a London pub. However staff were pleasant and it is a decent pub with a superb beer garden at the back and decent WiFi which is essential.

It was a friendly place you was very welcomed on your arrival. The pub was lovely they had different choices of real ale so that was perfect for us. food was nice. The only thing was the steep stairs when you went to your room but part from that it was just what we wanted for that weekend we stayed

We arrived at 3pm after a walk and asked if they were serving. The waiter said no but landlady said yes; I think this confused or annoyed him. There was a very stressed young waitress who looked very anxious. 40 mins later we were going to ask on an update when we noticed the young lady looking worried and clearly talking about our table. The waiter chap kept shrugging his shoulders as though it wasnot his problem. Eventually the food arrived minus any cutlery. When I requested cutlery the young waitess literally slammed five sets of knives and forks down. There was a very awkward silence from us and I considered leaving right there. It was shocking . The child's veggy plate when it arrived consisted of four pieces of parsnip and two roast potatoes. I was flabbergasted and requested a Yorkshire pudding. No veggy gravy was offered. The others had beef which they all very much enjoyed. The food was delicious; the service abysmal . Whilst we appreciate it was later on a Sunday and staff may be tired; we were treated indifferently and the waitress was very rude. We paid the same as folk coming in when the staff were fresh so should have been treated way way better. We think she may have been grumpy because of lack of support from other staff or it may have been her first day; either way it was not something we should have been aware of or concerned about. In summary our experience was the food was delicious though not veggy friendly and the service was alfal. If you like nice food and rude staff you'll love it; if not roll the dice.
