The environment and transportation location are good, there is an indoor parking lot, it takes about 20 minutes to walk to the ancient city, diagonally opposite the California Parliament Building, standing in my room window can see the dome of the Parliament Building, but the balcony door can open a seam. There are many restaurants around the hotel, but it is early to snore and it is convenient to find food on Google Maps. In terms of hygiene, everyone can see the picture at a glance. I also found it unintentionally. It was disgusting. I called the front desk and sent the room attendant to check it. We said that it was a stain for years and years. It was not formed in a day or two. We had nothing else. It’s not worthy of a five-star hotel’s reputation, it’s best to ask the room manager to come and see it, it’s certainly not so dirty in this room, but it’s not sent anyone to check it out until we left, and there’s no apology or anything. The faucet in the sink is also ”long flowing water” type, wash face feel water is not enough. Well not much to say, I hope I am not in vain.

Overall: would stay again! Nice hotel, room, bar, food, very convenient location.
LOCATION: Convenient! Right next to DOCO and the Golden 1 Center. Old Sac is a few minutes walk away. Public transport nearby.
HOTEL: The decor was a lovely, sophisticated, modern take on various historical periods. Music is a theme, nodding to the historic past of the building.
Balcony bar - Art Deco. Clean, eye-catching, charming. Emerald velvet chairs and gold-toned metal accents, whimsical 1920’s & ‘30’s music playing overhead, and servers dressed in simple roaring ‘20’s attire. Menu: Small bites. Phyllo baked brie, oysters, ahi poke, short ribs, Asian lettuce wraps, and more.
1st floor restaurant - “7th Street Standard”, is the name. Bright & elegant with simplicity. This restaurant can be a standalone; it’s better than a “hotel restaurant” in food quality, artistry, and presentation. Didn’t eat here this time, but have before. I recall everything being good! Great drinks last time!! Had happy hour drinks this time ($10), still great! Handcrafted, fresh, subtle sweetness for balance, nothing syrupy or fake-colored (reg price $15). Happy hour food and drinks available 3-6pm. Full menu includes trout, salmon, pork belly, and other goodies.
ROOM: I like the decor. The lamps were cool: gold dipped bulbs, bronze-colored cones, retro meets are deco feel. There’s a handy motion-censored light under the bathroom vanity when you don’t want to turn on a bright light at night, light-framed mirror for easy getting ready, spacious bathroom. Views from my particular room were not worth seeing. Good blackout curtains in-room, lots of natural light when open. Bathroom basics included: shampoo, conditioner, lotion soap. Not included: q-tips, cotton balls, etc. The mini fridge could fit some small leftover food boxes. Plenty of outlets near the bed. I don’t recall any food snacks offered for sale. $5 Fiji. Open rack closet, and drawers available. I believe my room was 320 sqft, with enough space to roll out a mat and do a room workout, if that’s your thing (or gym on 4th floor).
AREA OFFERINGS: There’s a Starbucks Reserve steps from the hotel and many places to eat, drink & entertain within easy walking distance (steakhouse, bowling alley, movies, rooftop pool bar, beer vault, and SO much more!). While it’s a nice area (million-dollar condos and attractions next door), another block over in one direction becomes a not-so-nice area (homelessness and refuse), so just be mindful of what direction you’re heading, if that bothers you.
PARKING: There are unattended daily parking lots right next to the hotel ($13-$16ish/10hrs), hourly metered parking, attended hourly/daily lots, valet ($40 seems to get you 2-day parking with in & out privileges; I valeted early evening, pickup needed before 2:45-ish a.m. on the third day). Valet had a very easy texting system. They texted me my valet ticket with a clickable link to call my car when desired. The link let me know the progress of my incoming car (“requested”, “on the way”, “ready”), so I knew exactly when I needed to head out and could enjoy my time until then. You can tip through the link, too.

If checking in late, you do need to buzz in at the main door. Staff is there 24/7 and are very friendly and professional. Room was spacious with strong AC, and was clean. Some of the sheets and the bathtub looked dirty, but it was actually clean and moreso just showing its age. I only ate at the hotel restaurant during my stay and it did give me the worst food poisoning of my life, which is why I knock this down to three stars. However, I may have just been unlucky.

The hotel breakfast will start at 8:30, because it is necessary to hurry, so if you don't eat, the meal coupon will be wasted. The hotel offers free coffee and tastes good. I was overcharged at the time of check-in. Fortunately, I found out in time that the money was returned and the front desk was too unprofessional.

Company holiday party was held a couple of blocks away so location was perfect. We were checking in at the front desk (6:04 pm)and the Hotel Registration Clerk said that ”Happy Hour” had just ended (6:00 pm). She asked if we would like a glass of wine (part of Happy Hour). We said ”yes” and less than 5 minutes later we both had glasses of a quite good Pinot Noir (red). The same Registration Clerk also had the extra pillows i had requested delivered to the room shortly after we entered our room. The room was tastefully decorated in muted grey & red tones and the mini bar was fully stocked. There were soft jersey robes to lounge in. In addition to the robes the room contained a yoga mat, reusable water bottles, wine bottle opener & other assorted items for sale if you were interested. The room was extremely quiet which considering all of the construction going on in the area was welcomed. All in all I would give the Kimpton Sawyer Hotel 4.75/5 stars. The .25 deduction was due to the extra firm mattress on the bed. The mattress was so firm that it was not comfortable for side sleepers.

Stay in the city center, mainly to attend the Golden One graduation ceremony, it is convenient to walk there, and you can also go to the old town by the river to see the old train station that is still in use, and visit the memorial hall of the construction of the Pacific Railway in the United States. The ticket is $12, and there are English explanations. If you are not good at English, remember to install a translation software. I also found Sacramento Chinatown, but there are not many people in the downtown streets during the day, and I always feel a little scared. The public parking lot next to the hotel is $20 a day. Of course, if it is valet parking, it may be $45. It is parked in one place, which feels unnecessary. The credit card mortgage is released slowly. It has not been released for more than a week. The credit card bill has been showing that it has not been credited. Of course, it may also be the reason for the temporary change of room type. When booking, the room type shows that the king-size bed room can accommodate four adults. I thought I could have a sofa bed, but when I got to the room, I saw a big bed and a small sofa. I negotiated with the front desk for a long time and changed to a room with a sofa bed. They promised that there would be no additional charge. Now I don’t know what the result is. The people have left, so I can only let it go. There is also an old building next to it, which was the former county court. It is now the county jail and is still in use.

GGuest UserMy husband & I recently stayed overnight to see KISS at the Aftershock Festival at Discovery Park. We were very pleased. The Hotel is clean, modern & bright. Hotel is next to the Freeway but we hardly noticed any noise. The complimentary breakfast was good, something for everyone, fresh fruit, toast, bagels, cereal, eggs, potatoes, sausage, make your own waffle station, juice & coffee. We felt very safe as it is near an industrial area and we noticed a few unhoused individuals nearby. The property is fenced & gated. You must scan your room key at the front door to enter the Hotel at night. They also have a security guard from 6pm-6am. There was a nice looking pool but we didn't get a chance to use it. The only downside was there's no food/restaurants nearby and they do charge for parking, $8.50/night, but that's not bad. They do offer snacks & beverages for purchase in the Lobby and there's always UberEats. Another Hotel is being built nextdoor, so maybe a few food places will be built in the future. We will definitely stay again. Farrah & Lorena at the front desk were awesome. The were very welcoming, friendly and answered all our questions regarding ordering an Uber, parking & breakfast hours.

GGuest UserFairfield Inn by Marriott Sacramento Cal Expo is in a good location on Tribute Road, near Exposition Boulevard and the Capital City Freeway (80). Tribute Road access to the American Bike Trail is about 100 yards away. We stayed in room 212. The room was clean, bedding very comfortable. Air Conditioning, refrigerator, Wi-Fi, lighting and Flat Screen all worked as expected. The bathroom had a good lighting, and shower. Our room was quiet here as we never were disturbed by noises from guests next door or above us. The hotel as a very good Breakfast buffet. We liked the selection of cereals, yogurt, fruit, eggs, omelets, potatoes, bagels, juices and coffee/tea. Staff always kept the buffet area very clean and well stocked. The gym had a good working Life Fitness Stationary bike, a treadmill, a recumbent stationary bike, and a weight machine. All was working except the Flat Screen TV. We were directed to use the gym next door at the companion property, the Courtyard by Marriott, if we wanted more weights and different machines. While the Fairfield gym mostly met our needs, once when the stationary bike was occupied, we went next door. Front desk personnel were very helpful. When we needed additional towels, they had housekeeping quickly provide them in less than 10 minutes. The pool, although smaller, was clean and refreshing. We used the hot tub but only sparingly as the air temperature was near 100 degrees. Overall, we recommend the Fairfield Inn by Marriott.
Pretty nice place especially if you are staying more than one day. It has a full kitchen and all. It is a little different than the normal places I stay. This was more like an apartment complex than a hotel. It does have a bar and restaurant in the lobby of the complex. The food was ok, normal hotel food that the bartender throws in the microwave. I am not sure if the area this is in is the best. Driving around it had some rough areas. The property does have nighttime security. Good place, I would stay again.
GGuest UserTraumatizing experience do not stay Who likes to be woken up at 6:30 in the morning? How about being woken up by the sound of your door opening? We’ll that’s what happened to me on Oct 17. At 6:30am I am woken up by the sound of my hotel door opening. I sprint towards the door to slam it on the intruder and look through the peephole to watch the intruder scurry away with a cart of some sort. After calling the front desk, they said it was a “maintenance man.” What? Why? Also, why would the maintenance man run away down the hall? Though I was furious l, I was equally tired. Without a deadbolt, I resorted to pushing furniture against the door to feel safe. I felt like a kid practicing for what to do in a school shooting. Fast forward to 10:30am. At checkout, I explained that someone came in my room, unannounced at 6:30. All I was given was “the maintenance guy made a mistake and went in your room.” No empathy. No sorry. No anything. I will never stay at this place ever again. The experience was horrible. The staff lacked empathy and responsibility for their actions. Don’t stay here.
RRobersonA Cool place to stay and good experience but nothing in my room worked. The outlets and usb did not work and could not plug my phone in. The tv was not clear and fuzzy. The hotel phone in the room did not work. The room did not have a blanket. The bathroom needed a good cleaning. The girl who checked us in was not not helpful and didn’t know about the hotel. She also told us to come back for ice then said she was the only one there and could not get it and told us to walk to the bar. The guy at the bar didn’t seem happy to leave the bar to get the ice. The food was good and the dinning staff was amazing.
GGuest UserThe room had a dank, musty smell (a friend stayed in another room and his smelled the same), there were stains on the carpet and the desk legs, the towels had stains that looked like everything from makeup to neon paint, the pillowcases had makeup on them, the shower floor was peeling, the curtains were discolored, there were long black hairs in the bedsheets when I arrived, the inside of the Keurig was rusted. The pool area had no towels and the pool bathroom was locked and even after I went inside to let the front desk know this, it was another 10 minutes before someone came out to unlock the bathroom, but they did not have the right key, and we had to go inside and use a hallway bathroom. On my last morning, I called the front desk to have coffee cups and a spoon brought to my room, and was told room service would bring the cups but that i would need to come to the front desk for the spoon. The cups never arrived and an hour later, I checked out of the room. I have backpacked my way through Central America, staying in hostels, and this was my worst accommodation ever experienced.
Staff was so friendly ,I felt comfortable with them and they made me feel so welcome. The rooms were very clean and very nice, I would recommend anyone else to stay at this location and I shall return if needed. This was one of my best hotel experience in a long time. Thanks again.
GGuest UserSomething that is understandable but would’ve been nice to know that’s there’s a $100 charge when you check in. It can take up to 5-7 days to get that money back.. If there was no damages. My room was clean and nice. There was no damages and hope on seeing my $100 back in a few days
I had the pleasure of conducting business with this establishment, in which I highly regret. And would never ever, ever ever, ever ever, Recommend this location. Had roaches in my room on the 2nd floor, went back downstairs to let them know , she let me know she can move me, but I did not request that. I wanted my money or a discount tbh. And another thing this location has a lot of attention, if you get what I'm saying! Oh and the Wi-Fi never works and they still give you a wi-fi password sli
