Hotels near Archeoparco Castranova, Rome

There are not many types of breakfast. It is bread, ham, salad. Hotel service is very good, the day of check-in is a birthday, and a bottle of champagne is also sent The sofa bed may be too old, there is a sunken place in the middle, and it feels empty in the middle without support. Super good location, very close to the attractions, almost walking distance

Hotel was in a great location. walking distance to the main railway station and to the Spanish steps and Trevi fountain. Good nearby bus links to the colosseum and the circus Maximus, and only a ten minute walk to the nearest underground. The hotel did a buffet breakfast which was very convenient, and had a mini bar in the room which we didn’t use, but the prices seemed reasonable for a hotel in Rome. Good restaurants nearby also.

The best thing about Giglio is it’s location. You can never ask for a better location than this. Exactly three minutes walk from Termini Station, it is surrounded by nice out sitting restaurants, a small super store that also have reasonably priced Italian wine and some of the tourist attractions at walkable distance. Collosium is approximately 1.5 kms from here. Though there are buses (number H) from Termini but I will advise to take a cab because the tourists pickpocketing is so rampant that it is really a menace (we saw an American man and his wife literally crying as they were robbed of their wallet which had his all credit cards). However, let’s come back to the hotel Giglio. If you fancy a hotel with a large balcony or big windows then you must look some other property. But if you are a genuine tourist who wants value for money, centrally located just go for this place. Our room was on fifth floor and our A/C was set at 26 degrees Celsius. There was no remote in the room. I spoke to reception and Mr Rauf came rushing upstairs, brought a remote and set the temperature as we wanted. Though we were only two people we were given a room fit for four people. The bathroom was really spacious. They don’t provide a lot of toiletries but good enough to shower. I have had breakfast at various expensive hotels in Rome, Florance and Siena but the breakfast provided at Giglio was much better than most. I must also add that the very kind girl at the breakfast service named Safia was just an Angel for us. She is soft spoken, very oriented towards customers and one who looks for solutions. We wanted vegetarian breakfast and she got us cheese tomato sandwiches because everything else had meat. Overall this is a great hotel because it gives you best value for money, it’s location and its kind staff.

This hotel is in an incomparable location for those wishing to travel to or from Termini Station and the Termini metro station. It is in close proximity to many first class sites, including the Baths of Diocletian, Santa Maria Maggiore, and Santa Pressede. The atmosphere within the hotel is modern and restful --worlds away from the gritty hustle and bustle outside its doors. The Superior Double room that we were given was of good size, quiet and was recently decorated with very lovely wood accents. The bathroom looked modern; however, the grout in the shower was already showing signs of age. This might be attributable to the fact that there was no fan in the bathroom. The breakfast was generous and good for the most part. I did, however, find it shocking that , rather than picking the coffee cup up by its saucer, the waiter picked up the cup by its top (yuck) in order to refill it, leaving the saucer on the table. Given the reasonable price point, this hotel provides a good and predictable night's stay.

The hotel was conveniently located 5-min from Termini train station and the FCO airport shuttle bus and hop on hop off bus stops just across. We stayed 2 times during our 2 week stay in Rome - over night stay before heading down to Civitavecchia Port for MSC cruise and 4 night stay upon return from the cruise ship. We used the hotel storage service for one of our luggage bags for a week during our 7-day cruise. The hotel staffs were friendly.

I'm sure that each of us has his own scale of factors to evaluate whether a place is beautiful or ugly but that the added value is the people. In this clean, nice and very comfortable hotel, near the Roma Termini station, it is precisely the people who make a small hotel a point of reference for our trips to Rome. Paola from the reception was, and is, the person who followed us during the booking process and who went out of her way to help us project our photographs on a wall, in a small room set up just for us, a small group of photographers arrived in town for a two day photography course. The hotel is in a nice location with a train entrance just down the street. It was very clean, our room was very nice for the four of us and the hotel personnel were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed their breakfast every morning- it had a.good selection of breakfast food. Several great restaurants in the area. We enjoyed the wine bar next door - great food and wine. We also had wonderful drinks at Gatsby’s on the other side of the hotel. It was a 15 minute walk from the main train station which was not bad at all. We had a wonderful dinner around the corner at Vecchia Roma- you must make a reservation or get there before they open to get in line. We got there 15 minutes after they opened and waited 35 minutes for a table but it was worth it. We enjoyed our visit and would stay here again.

I would have liked to rate the hotel as 4.5* however our room was at the front of the hotel and even with the windows shut it was very noisy from the large road junction outside, plus there was noise from other residents and tvs in other rooms, maybe some soundproofing needs to be carried out. That having been said the location was excellent, an easily walkable distance to main attractions, plus a metro stop is directly outside the hotel. The area felt safe at night and there some very good restaurants to try which are only minutes away. Should you wish to go shopping then there are plenty of non-designer shops to choose from nearby including a very good department store called COIN. Our room was a good size and had a lovely bathroom. The bed was large and extremely comfortable, the linen was super soft. Cleaning through the hotel was of a high standard. Breakfast was excellent, everything you might want and the most delicious scrambled eggs I have ever had in a hotel. There were salads, pastries, cakes, fresh fruit, yoghurts, different cured meats and cheeses, sausages and bacon and vegetarian options. Top marks for the hard working breakfast staff. A great start to the day. Staff generally were friendly and helpful. At reception were snacks and drinks to welcome you which was a nice gesture. The hotel also has a small restaurant, ideal for lunches or if you are too exhausted to leave the hotel at night. We had pizzas and salads there a couple of times for lunch and they were very good. The reception area is good with couches, they will look after your baggage if you have a late flight. A very enjoyable stay.

The hotel is very modern, lovely sized room and really comfy bed! You get a hairdryer in the room (ladies!) and there is a mini fridge to leave your own drinks. Aircon worked perfectly and some fancy lighting above the bed! Really close to the 160 bus stop that takes you to the centre of Rome for €1.50 (pre pay on the app!) and also some lovely restaurants and cafes for food. Short walk from the 716 bus to take you to Rome Termini. Lovely staff- although confusing when one member let us have water complimentary and another charged for it. Only improvements would be to have tea coffee in the room for in a morning, and also don’t expect the Beth room to be super clean- in need of a little TLC.

Liked the location of the hotel in EUR Rome. The rooms are nice and clean, good TV channels including BBC and CNN. The experience was ruined by the 1 hour + noise from the trucks loading and unloading skips in the next door Euromax shopping centre. The banging noise is horrendous. Sara did offer to replace my room but as i had 1 more night i didn't bother. The breakfast area is very busy and chaotic, takes a long time to get coffee from the Barista's. The breakfast items are okay but nothing substantial, they are very supermarket affair. The corridors are boring and dull and definitely 3 stars. The staff are friendly and helpful. The Euromax shopping centre next door is an excellent diversion on a rainy day.
