Lovely sea view but a lot of external noise overnight, despite secondary glazing. The traffic noise was frequent throughout the night and shortly after 5 am, the refuse collection crashed and banged in the street for well over 20 minutes. Unfortunately a room change was not available for the second night of our stay so we overcame the traffic noise by using the air conditioning system which was more consistent and therefore helped mask it. The second evening we ate in the adjoining restaurant. Whilst the food was good, especially the hake, and the staff helpful, despite communication difficulties, it was extremely expensive at £75 for one shared starter, 2 mains, a beer and a small wine.

A small quiet hotel , well maintained and the staff were friendly and helpful. There was no restaurant when we visited in mid June although it did look as if one would be open later in the season, but this was not a problem as there are lovely places to eat in walking distance. The breakfast was enjoyable and would suit all tastes. The room we were given was large and was used as a family room . There was plenty of cupboard space, a large bathroom, air con although we prefer to open the window, the room was situated overlooking the pool and was very quiet. Some rooms do have a sea view but over look the main road. We slept very well the bed was comfortable and the bed linen was changed twice in our weeks stay. The pool was clean and the water was good, it was a pleasant place to sit. The hotel has parking although this is not on site and a good walk away, however as it was not high season we were able to park in free spaces outside the zone Blue once again a walk away. We enjoyed our stay very much and found the Hotel de la Maree was a good place to visit the whole island.

Great small hotel with friendly helpful staff and a yummy breakfast! Rooms clean and with AC and our room had a seaview which was lovely. Small swimming pool but preferred the sea. Great restaurants around hotel walking distance or cycling and beaches to die for! Would thoroughly recommend gor couples or families!

Spent a few days on the island and selected this hotel, right on the coast, in a small village. The rooms towards the sea have a nice view, extend over two small floors yet are narrow. Clearly you don’t go there to spend a lot of time in the room. It feels clean and the staff is very nice. The breakfast buffet is small, basic but nicely prepared. There is a small pool in the backyard, which in the colder days is covered. Somehow it did not feel as clean, possibly because it was end of season. The hotel has an enclosed parking lot (not covered), not too far away. While it’s nice to have the room looking towards the sea, in between is the main road that takes you into the island. So early morning, with an open window to have it cool, you hear all the traffic. While it’s not a highway, it is still sufficient to wake you up.

We stayed for 3 nights in Hotel de la Maree at the beginning of October. We had never been to Ile de Re before and did not know what to expect. We could not have asked for a better reception on our arrival. We were given a quick tour of the hotel facilities before checking into our rooms. The rooms, while a little bit small, were extremely comfortable. The facilities such as jacuzzi and pool were such a welcome treat at the end of a day around the island. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the lady who looked after it was very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend that if going to Ile de Re that you check out this hotel. You will not be disappointed.

We were a family of four in room 9 duplex. It’s was too small for two adults and two tweens…even the bathroom were a bit cramped. Suggest two rooms would be better. Lovely view of the sea, nice pool (with half cover for sun-shelter) and hot tub. We tried the nice restaurant (across road by sea) for lunch. Highlight for us was the staff, so friendly and helpful! It’s in a quiet place and a 10 minute drive to the more livelier St Martin-de-Re.

We ate in the restaurant on the terrace by the sea. Lovely service and the food was incredible. Highly recommend the oysters and the childrens fish. After food we sat on the comfy seats for an extra drink as it’s such a nice place to be. Not the cheapest but very fresh.

For this time of the year, when there is not much going on in the island, the price is for what you get, expensive. Breakfast is ok, but don't expect anything fancy. Similar quality of what you can get in an ibis hotel. The room was comfortable and the staff was friendly.
