Great views with lots of wildlife sightings. Stayed in Suite 9 which was spacious and nicely decorated. The king size bed was comfortable. The bathroom had plenty of room for 2 people and the shower had good water pressure. The ac along with the fan in the bedroom kept the room cool. The kitchen had most everything we needed. Coffee provided for one day and then you’re on your own. There was a bag of coffee available for $14.99. We didn’t need a whole bag and the restaurant didn’t open early so keep this in mind if you’re an early riser and a coffee drinker. The restaurant had a limited menu and staffing seemed to be inconsistent. There was no staff available on Monday for breakfast and no one available when we returned from the beach in the afternoon and wanted something from the bar. I would avoid prepayment for breakfast as staff didn’t understand how it worked. Probably better to just order breakfast as available if you want to eat there. We prepaid for 6 breakfasts and only ate 3. We were refunded for 3 breakfasts on our last day. The dinner menu was also limited and we only ate there once. Suite 9 has views of the ocean from the front and views of the ocean and foliage from the back door and bistro area. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The girl at the front desk secured taxis for us and booked activities. I left my wallet and phone at another location and she was instrumental in getting everything returned to me very quickly! The Beach Day Pass is worthwhile. For $40 pp you get $35 pp food and beverage credit as well as beach chairs, umbrella, access to pool and restrooms at the Karahe’ Beach Hotel. The food is great there and you have food and beverage service right on the beach. Lots of monkeys! The pool at Vista Ocean Suites was very refreshing after a day of excursions. Daily housekeeping was a nice touch. Everything in our suite was clean and the furniture was comfortable. Would have liked more places to hang wet items to dry. It was difficult to wash and find space to dry items. We needed a taxi for any excursions since we didn’t have a car and it’s a bit of a hike to the main road. We did manage to hike to Biesanz Beach and back but it wasn’t an easy hike for us. Better suited for younger and in shape people!

We took a group of 16 plus a driver and guide here for two nights in January. Upon arrival there was no one at the front desk, but the restaurant staff jumped in to help. There was a bit of confusion about our rooms, which may have been our failure to clearly articulate our needs. In any event the owner was wonderful about adjusting our room assignments to fit our needs. The rooms are small but entirely met our needs. The breakfast was off a menu: eggs and meat; pancakes; or traditional Costa Rican fare. The restaurant also offered lunch and dinner as well as a full bar. The food was quite good, especially the pizzas. A very good value and wonderful staff.

I’m a pretty average traveler - I’ve been to 8 countries, so more than a lot of people but also less than a lot of people, but this was by far my favorite place I’ve ever been. I’ve always said I won’t return to a place, so I can keep exploring, but I would come back here without a second thought. The resort was truly amazing. They take their conservation very seriously with their practices and protected wildlife areas. The resort was ALWAYS clean despite being in the middle of the jungle and just generally beautiful. The staff was super kind, everyone seemed very genuine and happy to be there. Shout out to Yerald & Mar at the pool bar for the constant attentiveness and smiles (and drinks of course). Also shout out to Elias - the onsite naturalist that leads the night hikes. He was so knowledgeable, showed us so many cool animals, and has worked with National Geographic! He knows his stuff. Between excursions and the resort, we saw new wildlife everyday. There were capuchins on our balcony, you could hear the howler monkeys daily, iguanas, opossums, raccoons, geckos, macaws, sloths, grasshoppers the size of your face, and we watched humpback whales from our balcony every single morning. Since going in the off season, not all of the restaurants were open but what I ate was phenomenal. Breakfast buffet daily with rice and beans to die for and dinners at La Galería were 100%. I highly recommend going here and doing everything you can.

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The rooms were big, updated, and clean. The only issue I had was with one staff member who stemmed to be snobby but the rest of them were very accommodating. I told him I wanted to stay another night and he told me that I needed to do it on the web. I stated that I thought it would be faster and cheaper if we would do it here, but he said ”no”. He was not interested in helping me, it seemed like. Oh well, I called the other hotel where I was staying two nights and they happily accommodated us for another night. I don't get these type of workers especially in Costa Rica where customer service I hold it in high regards. One of the reasons I love to come to this country it's because of their Pura Vida way of life, caring, loving, helpful. I guess los ticos are changing as well.

MMarg BThis is my first review although I travel with Melbourne see the world who has had over 300 reviews published. Upon arrival today we were greeted by an unwelcoming team member at reception. We were asked several odd questions including would we like a key to the safe and would we like our room serviced daily. Of course we answered yes to both and were left wondering why we had even beenasked these questions. Next we were shown to our room which was not the room we had booked and paid for. Our booking confirmation clearly stated we had booked a deluxe upstairs room however we were allocated a down stairs room. After some discussion with the not so welcoming team member and being told to be quiet whilst she explained to me what had happened she did acknowledge we had indeed booked an upstairs room but as the hotel was fully booked she was unable to provide the correct room. The downstairs rooms are on the walk ways and do not offer any privacy if you wish to sit outside. In addition to this we are located next to the underground septic tanks which exude a putrid smell making it impossible to sit outside without feeling nauseous. Regrettably we are here for 3 nights and are yet to receive an apology or solution to the inappropriate room we have been allocated which I find totally unacceptable.
The photos of their rooms look exactly like the actual room we received ! If anything the room appeared bigger than what we expected. We had booked the king bed room overlooking the pool and it was perfect. Except for one thing that I shouldn't/wouldn't have let bother me but here is what happened - you do the decision. I asked about laundry service and was told by the front desk guy that I should save my $$'s and use the oversize bathroom sink (and it was) then hang my clothes on the little wire units that were in the shower area. Simple enough except after I did the wash and rinse & squeeze of as much water as possible, I went to hang the clothes on the wire and it broke, so pulled out the 2nd one, same thing it broke before I could even hang anything up ! So I went back down to the front desk and explained it all and this time the gal that was there told me to bag it up and they would do it for $7/kilo, I stated that I would do this but since it was already wet, there wouldn't be an accurate weight. She told me not to worry and that they would weigh it after it was dry, so I complied and dropped it off. Next day I went to retrieve it and was alarmed that my 3 tee shirts, 2 shorts and a couple of underwear's were going to cost way over $20 ! I was told be a different person that there was nothing that could be done and I could just pay it or they would add it to my bill at checkout. I paid the bill for what may have been 3 lbs (1.25 kilos max) of stuff. So in closing stay here for the rooms (and we probably would again) but don't have your laundry done here because they will ream you !
This hotel was the highlight of our accommodations during our 9-day trip in Costa Rica. The view alone was worth the price of the stay. I requested this hotel when I booked my trip through a travel agency so didn’t look at photos of the room beforehand. I based my request of the high ratings from TripAdvisor and was not disappointed. The king-sized bed was so comfortable, I slept 12 hours on my first night there, which is rare for me anywhere. This was a family trip, with kids aged 11 and 7, so I was a bit worried that their bed would be a pull-out from converted sofa. It wasn’t. It was the same high-quality comfortable bed but in a queen size, and the kids slept well. The whole hotel was well-designed and integrated into the surroundings, so in addition to the view, we saw lizards and monkeys roam the premises. Such a treat! The kids pool has a waterslide that the kids went on over and over again and had a blast. We only had 2 nights here because of scheduling, but I honestly think we could have stayed 3 more and still enjoyed ourselves. This is a special place that I will be recommending to any one who is visiting Costa Rica!
GGuest UserWe stayed here a week between Christmas and New Year's and this place was fantastic. The villa was spacious, the beds extremely comfortable, the AC worked exceptionally well, and the kitchen was well equipped. The pool was great for a dip after a long day of hiking, and we even saw both spider and white-faced monkey while sitting out! One even tried to steal some food! The breakfasts were delicious, starting with a plate of fruit, and then you have a choice of 5 different types of breakfasts. We all loved the Tico breakfast (eggs, rice & beans, plantains, sausage, and tortillas. Delicioso!) But, the best part of Villas Mymosa is the staff. Everyone from the chef, to the cleaning ladies, to Kathy the evening bartender, to Karen the morning server, German the night watchman, and Amy and Kathia the office managers, were so friendly and accommodating to our every need. I booked all our excursions through Kathia and ended up making a new friend! The Villas are located right near the bus stop from which, for less than $1, you can get to Quepos or Manuel Antonio. I highly recommend Villas Mymosa.
CcriskotsuRooms were nice, good space and comfortable. View from the pool is great, and green surroundings makes common for animals to come around. We were enjoying a coffee by the pool when a cute titi (squirrel monkey) came to join us!! They have coffee, tea and chocolate available 24/7 for guests. It’s pet friendly, too!
My boyfriend was very happy with the service, all staff were very kind and helpful
GGuest UserBeautiful location, right across the street from a great beach! It's at the end of the road , just past the entrance to Manuel Antonio Park, which is 300 meters away. It has the classis old Costa Rican vibe, but is kept very clean, with gorgeous grounds. You may even catch the white-faced monkeys in the trees behind, which we saw on our last (third) day. The front desk people are awesome, especially Jenny and Ivan, who actually sought out and found the best zip lining experience in the area, and booked it for us. Restaurants (especially liked El Avión less than a km away), grocery, and souvenirs all within easy walking distance. Everything you need is right there. Would definitely stay there again!
