The hotel accepts foreigners. The room was spacious and clean, with all necessary amenities. The location is fairly central, and a short bus/taxi ride will take you to the major attractions (it's located just between Laolongtou and Shanhaiguan scenic area). Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Breakfast was great and varied, mostly Chinese but with good Western options if you prefer. The staff was very nice, gave me apples and two extra bottles of water because it took them a bit to figure out how to register me. Overall, a very good option and great value for money.
