Hotels near Preglia, Province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola

Assolutamente da consigliare un soggiorno, anche prolungato, a Domodossola e in particolare in questo accogliente alloggio, confortevole e rilassante e con il fascino dell'atmosfera storica data dall'edificio in cui si trova (bellissimo l'affaccio sulla ”Corte” dal terrazzo con gli archi di cui la mia dolce Metà si è ”innamorata”..). Ma il ”Valore Aggiunto” è dato da Marinella, proprietaria e gestore degli alloggi, simpatica e ”pacata”, disponibile e cordiale: ”Chicca nella Chicca”.. Speriamo di non dover far trascorrere troppo tempo per tornare: la bella e tranquilla cittadina è circondata dalle montagne e punto di riferimento per escursioni varie anche con ”Trenini” verso Locarno o Berna, in Svizzera, ma anche in Terra ”Italica”.. Ed è assai piacevole tornare al Residence per godere del suo ”Romantico Confort”..

This was the summers hotel surprise. The hotel is located directly on the main square of old city of Domodossola in a small old city building. To get to it you need to walk the last few meters. I took the chance to drive in but was told to get the car outside the area asap. I had to park in a public space. The hotel is completely updated the last years. There are 6 rooms in total I believe. We had a large room on the top with a mezzanine so we could sleep 4. The room was clean and very nice. Free wifi and frezeer in the room. The stairs were tiny, since it is a small house, but there is also a small elevator so no issues with luggage. The breakfast room is the most fantastic breakfast room I have ever seen. Fantastic cellar with vaulted roof (see pictures). The location turned out to be superb, with the main square directly outside with all the restaurants. Domodossola is a fantastic small old city close to the alps and are most certainly a small gem that most tourists has not found yet. We will be back some time!

A lovely hotel, very contemporary interior design, but comfortable bed and a spacious bathroom. Friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant is amazing, the food delicious and definately meeting the Michelin requirements. The breakfast was also delicious, very special things on offer from honey to fresh hazelnuts. The entire experience of staying there is amazing and I highly recommend it. Parking available at the back of the hotel which is very safe.

Très bon hôtel, nous avons logé dans la suite azzurra. Chambre très spacieuse, personnel courtois, petits déjeuners copieux, avec un buffet sucré salé très bien garni. Nous n avons pas pris le dîner car l établissement ne propose qu une formule à trois services. L hôtel est bien situé, on descend la rue et on trouve tout de suite une superbe église et un peu plus bas, le lac Majeur avec de nombreux restaurants au bord de l eau. La ville est bien située, point de départ pour visiter les îles Borromée et à quelques minutes de la très chic Stresa ou d un superbe jardin botanique

This hotel is situation right on the lake front in a run of large, traditional hotels. Being the furthest hotel away from the town be aware this is a good 'stroll' outside to Stresa town, maybe a 20 minute walk, so if anyone has mobility issues (as my wife has) this may not be the best option. Apart from that the hotel is wonderful. Yes, you could call it faded grandeur, or unspoilt tradition. But it is a hotel on a grand scale. There is an outside (and inside) pool with a bar and loungers. A small point is the loungers may have passed their best and are not particularly comfortable in my opinion. We had a lake side balcony room. While not huge it was perfectly adequate for two people with a very comfortable bed. Another small point - the bathroom does feel dated. There is a very high bath where the shower is located which again proved difficult for my wife to get in and out of. But again this was not a major problem. We had seen some negative reviews of the breakfast at the hotel. We thought it was a fantastic buffet selection. Yes, it's continental of course, but there is everything we needed, from fresh Orange juice to a (limited) offering of fried food (Bacon, Scrambled eggs, Sausage, etc). With a vast range of breads, croissants, meats and cheese plus cakes and pastries etc. Lovely sitting outside over looking the lake at breakfast. The staff were all very friendly and efficient. Very nice bar and the drinks were not too expensive. On a side note we had never been to Stresa before and thought it the perfect place for a relatively quiet break. Lot's to do, and the Islands on the lake are beautiful places to visit. We really enjoyed our 4 night stay and will look to return as my wife's mobility problems improve. Highly recommended.

Breakfast is too good! The train station walks 300 meters. Opposite the lake can take a boat. Bathroom accessories are exquisite! Staff is very friendly and introduces many attractions! The lake room is great
