Great location, not much parking but the sell permits for £5. I was in the house around the corner from the hotel. Stairs were a bit creaky and it was the most soundproof.

Amazing position, great location. Maria, on reception was a 'star' -what a welcome. Friendly and professional. Treat two pots of ice cream, added bonus. A room off the dining area, first on the right, no miles of walking, excellent. Clean and comfortable, as the bathroom, lovely and clean. Breakfast the usual, seriously manic. Extremely busy, buffet, just warm food, lots of choice, wonderful hash browns. No prisoners taken, still enjoyable. Tables cleaned in between guests, well done. Only down side 'He' has now become a registered disabled, no parking available in the small parking area located on site which was annoying. We parked in the underground Gunwharf car park, the charge was reimbursed which was fine, however, it was an issue for him getting to and from the hotel. Did not spoil our stay, loved it, hopefully will stay again.

We have stayed in many a Premier Inn and never have we encountered staff so lovely, helpful and happy! They were amazing with our 9 year old, bringing her colouring pictures and pens whilst us adults were chatting in the bar on an evening and service breakfast with the biggest smiles ever! We have plans to be back in the area and will definitely be coming back to stay in this hotel!

I've been lucky enough to stay at Village Portsmouth around 6 times. Mostly on my own, sometimes with my wife and always when Portsmouth FC have been playing at home. This time my wife went swimming in the morning and said the place was spotless. The breakfast was plentiful as always. We were lucky enough this time to stay in a Club Room 525 which was clean and amazing, but all the rooms I've stated have been 'spot on'.😁 I've found that if you have a question or if something needs sorting out, if you speak to a staff member it's 'problem solved' ! 👍 they are friendly, knowledgeable and willing to help. Jimmy is a kind guy, all the reception team are helpful as are the bar & restaurant staff. As soon as there is another deal coinciding with a Pompey game I/will be back. 👍

Sometimes you get annoying guests. It happens. But the front desk dealt with it swiftly and without fuss. I just asked if they had an alternative room on the same floor to ensure I could get the rest I needed, but they upgraded me and offered help to relocate my belongings. Dealt with so deftly, an unexpected classy touch. Buffet breakfast was very good, freshly served and hot. I saw some reviews to the contrary, but couldn't fault it. Nice surroundings and bar area had a nice atmosphere. Ideal location for being just a short hop away from the harbour area. VG overall experience and would definitely return. Thank you.

We arrived at 14.20. The room was ready but we weren't allowed to check in until 15.00 or pay £10 for the extra 30 minutes. I raised this with the Manager whose response was 'It's company policy'. I use Premier Inn regularly for work in a number of locations, never had that said to me before. Told him that. Same response from the Manager 'Well they are all breaking company policy'. What they are actually doing is 'managing' and keeping their customers happy. Not just wearing a badge that says 'Manager' and upsetting regular customers for the sake of 30 minutes. Petty and shabby. That's me finished with Premier Inn just on that basis. We ate in the restaurant that evening. They had run out of 'Beer Battered fish'. Strangely later on it came back on the menu after a staff member popped on to Tesco frozen aisle to get some. Then literally just warmed up. Cold mushy peas. Literally for that hour the ratio of staff to tables was 1:1 and it was still a disorganised shambles. Breakfast the next morning. A substantial number of customers. 2 staff who were more interested in giggling and chatting than the state of the buffet. No Alpen, no bread or croissants, fruit empty. Why did I need to tell them to refill things??? Don't they notice? Another fabulous Manager response 'We've run out of Alpen'. That was his entire defence. Although strangely when I walked back round to the buffet a large box of Alpen had appeared. I should say something good. I booked a Premier Plus room which was quite pleasant. Shame that didn't have the 'Slightly early check in' included for the extra I paid.

I read a few negative reviews before arriving here and I was a bit worried about how my stay would go. I have to say all of theses reviews were proved wrong. We had a really good stay. Staff were friendly and helpful and the reception staff especially were constantly working on reception, in the bar and helping clear after meals and breakfast. Our room was very clean and convenient. The only issue is the separate charge for parking. Having to pay on a machine at a hotel is unusual and unnecessary.

GGuest UserThe Ibis Budget Hotel, is a very basic hotel as implies in the name. It's convenient for the accessing the Ferry, town centre by bus. Fratton station with trains to London is less than a10min walk.
There is no fancy trimmings here. The room was small, but clean. Offered a continental breakfast.
Located in walking distance from supermarket and fast food restaurants.
The Bus 1 goes from Gunwharf Ferry to the Southsea Pier; but be careful. This bus changes to a Bus 3 at the Southsea Pier. It carries on another hour plus towards Southampton etc.
All in all, the hotel offered my family a good rest after a long day out. The bottom double bed was very comfortable. Perhaps the bunk bit is not best suited to a teenager.
AAlison dWe had a wonderful time here for a week. Yes the rooms are dated but still comfortable and clean. The restaurant is a child friendly place and yes they do run around screaming but wasn’t a problem for us, we went into the over 18 area and it was fantastic. The staff are amazing and friendly the one member that stood out to us was Brandon he was always happy and a great laugh he done everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. Nothing was too much effort for him and he took the time to get to know us. He made our week. Highly recommended this hotel
