Emerald Valley Inn

The Emerald Valley Inn is a small, cute and very clean motel on Highway 101, near Lake Crescent, Olympic National Park. It has Granny’s Cafe on the grounds with pretty good food as well. Overall, a very nice place to stay. Especially liked the chickens and emus on the property.

This motel is awful! We read the reviews and thought this should be ok because it was close to some trails that we wanted to hike. This motel has no air conditioning, no television, no deadbolts on the front door and paper thin walls between it and other rooms. The room was clean but did have a pink tub and shower from the 1960’s. I stayed awake all night because I was afraid someone was going to break into the front door and it is located all by itself on the interstate with no front office.

I always prefer to stay as close to national parks, trails, etc. as possible and am used to the sorts of accommodations that provide proximity. Emerald Valley Inn may have have a few style points based on the website and photos, but I'm afraid cleanliness and maintenance are not up to par. For example, our room looked nice enough, with nicely matching decor...but there was long hair everywhere, like it hadn't been vacuumed in ages, under the covers so no one checked/changed the linens, etc. I tried to find a more comfortable place to sit outside, but the outdoor chairs were mostly all filthy. (I finally found one that was ok to sit in near the camping area.) Management makes clear you check-in yourself and do not create an impression that they are available to remedy room issues/complaints. Sadly, I would not return.

Outstanding location just a stone’s thrown to Olympic National Park. Very close to Deer Park portion of Park- drive to end of Deer Park Road was our favorite. Rooms set up very well and spotless. Quick response when we requested an extra blanket. We visited two nights in July 2024.

Really old motel, homey but nothing special from the outside. Cute boutique-style updated rooms w/most conveniences on inside. Very clean but had horrible room fragrance that we found almost sickening. (No TVs.) ONLINE CHECK-IN ONLY! We were on a hiking trail in a remote area with virtually no cell service when I got a text demanding on-line check in. There is no front desk, no on-site staff, and the ONLY way to gain access to your room is via text from Airbnb once you complete online check-in. Cell service from the direction we were coming was very sporadic and the website we were directed to seemed pretty data intensive and was difficult to load and update. Room interior was very visually appealing and did have fridge, microwave, and a nice bathroom; however, it was very cramped, no A/C and only an antique wall unit for heat, no TV, and no staff support.

Room nicely done, with extra items for comfort. Great shower, location to Olympic National Parks 3 lodges, hiking, Hot Springs is ideal. And about half the price. Hosts were attentive, great communication before and during stay. If you like casual and relaxed atmosphere this is the place.
