Check in was a little confusing (finding the office) and we weren't given much information. After reading the other reviews of how engaging the owner was, I was left with the key and information about breakfast. Positives: Location is close to town and the train/bus station. Bed was comfortable, good water pressure, wifi was fast and the room was clean. My favorite was the terrace which overlooks the gorgeous garden area. Breakfast was a la carte because we were one of few guests at the time. It was plentiful and the espresso machine was great! Drawbacks: Although the owner was sighted many times while we were at breakfast or sitting in the garden, there was zero engagement with us. I expected the owner to interact in some way such as "how's your visit going?" or "do you need any information about the area?" One of the reasons I like to stay at smaller establishments is the ability to get great local information from the owner/manager. Another drawback for me was the room ~ it was painted in red swirls. Not my aesthetic and definitely not a calming color. We ended up leaving a few days early and I will likely not return to this vila. It was just OK and not the welcoming place I imagined it would be,
