We haven’t visited Polzeath and stayed at the valley campsite for probably about 7-8 years and it was a great campsite back then so we were really looking forward to coming back. I checked the tariff online, it would be £28 for our camper van for the night, showers were extra. We turned up and after about ten mins later we left and certainly were not going to stay the night and pay that money. The toilet and shower facilities are disgusting. What on earth is that awful stench coming from both blocks?! It’s like the season is over and no one is cleaning them any time soon. And you’re going to be charging customers the same rate? There were random white goods just left in one of the blocks, a white fridge and both blocks just looked a mess. I think it’s called charging a stupid amount of money because you can (because your right in the heart of polzeath) What a shame.

The location of The Valley Caravan Park is second to none. I pitched my tent, made a mug of tea and walked with it to the beach. The ladies on reception were friendly and helpful. The showers worked fine. The other campers were extremely quiet and polite. I didn’t use the cafe but I would recommend Clever Trevor’s food on the beach and the fabulous pizza horse box too. The only downside was the very noisy rookery but I guess the crows have to live somewhere too, and where is better than Polzeath!?

Lovely campsite, excellent position as easily walkable to beach. Good showers payable on 50p or token but always hot. Wetsuit shower outside also very hot - and free. Slightly small dishwash area but water hot. Staff lovely and reception very organised . Pitches well kept. Family friendly and lovely stream through middle - lots of moorhens 😊. Only used clubhouse once for our breakfast on the last day - all really poor: pancakes; 4 for £9; dry, thin and hard. Big breakfast and big veggie breakfast, both costing over £12; shocking cheap sausages and bacon; greasy eggs and the brown sauce, ketchup and mustard were obviously also very cheap. So overpriced for the quality and so disappointing - but the coffee was good. Tried all the pasties in Polzeath and none very good. Best were at Malcolm Barnecutts in Rock.

We love this place come every year we were only down here in June it was much quieter then because the kids were at school now it’s very busy. Don’t understand some of the other reviews moaning about loud noise at night we haven’t heard a thing all week. So glad the clubhouse has changed back to valley running it. The person that was there before wasn’t very good at all it’s much better now. We will be back again next year. Staff are brilliant nothing is too much trouble for them.

We stayed in one of the privately own static caravans near the entrance. We didn't need to use the shower blocks, etc. The site is idyllic set in the deep valley with the river running through. Lots of wildlife around the site, which is lovely to see. The bar had a good selection of drinks and was reasonably priced. The restaurant wasn't open at the time of our stay, we are at Waterfront, The Oyster Catcher and The Atlantic (New Polzeath) all are quite pricey but are very good.

It’s a great park next to an amazing beach full of sea side restaurants and shops perfect for all the family. Club house is fun and the actual vans are top tier with comfortable sofas and beds I would recommend this place to anyone and I go back every year it’s so good

We arrived for a 8 night stay with our caravan on an electric hook up grass pitch.

Arrival - phones ahead to say we’d be late and the details were left stuck to the reception door for us (it’s a laid back vibe this place!), collected letter and drove onto the site and parked up.

Pitch - Nice XL pitches reasonably level, close to toilet block. There is a rookery in the trees above the pitch, some people won’t like this, we thought it was great watching 1000’s of rooks roost every night!

Shower/washing - one shower block is a bit tired and the other one is relatively new/refurbished, function over form for the tired one and it’s fine. The amenity areas for washing up were good, nice deep sinks!

General facilities - not much really, but then that’s why we came here, it’s right next to the beach! In the evening you have an on site clubhouse which has a really good and well priced menu along with a decent selection of drinks and friendly staff. It has a small onsite shop with essentials. Location - it’s practically on the beach, no more than 5 minutes walk, loads of eateries dotted around! My one and only issue is that right up the back of the campsite there are some statics in a separate area, I assume it’s accommodation for seasonal workers, there were a few youngster who were quite content speeding up the road to get there, one in particular must have been doing 30mph when she went past us in her car, I walked up and politely reminded her of the speed limit and the fact there are lots of kids playing, she wasn’t rude and when she drove back out it was at a sensible speed. Overall - if you like Polzeath this campsite goes with the vibe, simple and good!

Unfortunately I think this year will be our last visit to valley in a static caravan as the standards seem to decrease every year. They are not cleaned or maintained well at all. Camping facilities are still good, warm showers and decent toilet blocks, also lots of flat patches and unbeatable access to the beach.
