Hotels near Samuelson's Diamonds & Estate Buyers - Baltimore, Pikesville

I spent one weekend night here. My GPS took me to the stores in front of the hotel. I was in a Williams and Sonoma parking lot so if that happens to you, just know you need to follow the road next to the parking garage to behind the Williams and Sonoma and you'll find the hotel. Not the hotel's fault, I'm just mentioning it in case it happens to you too. The two gentlemen at the front desk for check in were both very nice. I went to my room and found it to be clean and very spacious. It was very dark though and the whole inside of the room and hotel just seems old. The room was pretty hot when I got in there but it was the hottest weekend of the year and I figured had just been hotter because housekeeping turned the temperature up like a lot do after somebody checks out. At check in, I had asked about a restaurant but they said that theirs closed during Covid and never reopened. They did give me a sheet with a bunch of local recommendations for other restaurants. I picked one of those and when I went back to the lobby to go eat, I overheard workers talking about the broken AC. So the reason my room was hot is because the whole hotel's AC had gone out. This just happens, I get it. I'll say that the hotel had somebody out there in just a couple hours to have it fixed and my room was getting cool by the time I was ready to go to bed which was good. Unfortunately, I had to leave at 0745 on Saturday morning and their breakfast doesn't start until 0800 on the weekends. It's earlier on a weekday. I wish this policy would be changed. The price was reasonable and the location was pretty convenient for what I was in town for. I'm not sure I would stay here again though if I ever end up staying in Baltimore again.

The hotel is new, clean and there's a very nice breakfast. It's a city hotel, so the room was smaller than other Hampton Inns, but comfortable with nice amenities (fridge, microwave, coffee maker, usb ports) and a big TV. Home2suites shares the building and the floor. The self-parking is expensive ($20/day) and is a walk up a hill to a public lot.. The valet staff was nice and let me unload and check-in before parking. The front desk staff, however, was remote and unfriendy. It wasn't explained how parking worked - other than that the charge would be added to the room. It meant a trudge back to the car in a thunderstorm to get a ticket previously left in the car. It is to be validated at the front desk. I won't be going back. There was no maid service for a 3 day stay. Service is supposedly ”every other day.” I had to ask for extra towels and put trash outside the door when the baskets were full. (I also know nose rings are popular - but people wearing them are hard for me to look at. After seeing too many kids with runny noses, what looks like metal buggers coming out of people's noses, gives me a startling bad physical reaction - Sorry - can't help it.)

Pet owners and those with small children beware! First off, this location smells horribly of ********* despite being smoke free. The smell was almost unbearable on the 4th floor. I stayed at this location 6/30-7/4 because they labeled themselves as a pet friendly establishment. On my first morning there, I took my dog to the posted Dog Walking area and discovered that there was rat poison covering the grass, not inside of the packaging or inside the secure rat bait box. Unfortunately my dog ingested (soft bait - looked like playdoh in the ground for those of you with small children) some due to this hotels gross negligence. Why on earth would you put poison in an area designated for dogs?! Animal Poison Control was fantastic in helping me save my dog, hotel management took over 4 hours to contact me. I had to go out myself to find the name of the poison from the scraps of paper discarded to provide to the local Pet ER. My dog now needs to be monitored for signs of seizure and internal bleeding which could take days to weeks due to the anticoagulant used, not to mention, this poison, difethialone, is heavily regulated by the EPA because of how highly toxic it is to children and animals, and MUST be contained inside of a secure rat bait trap. Other than expressing sympathy for the “inconvenience”, this hotel took ZERO responsibility for putting dogs and children at risk. They simply cleaned up the poison and carried on like business as usual. I requested to speak to regional management and have heard absolutely nothing. I will never stay at a Hyatt again, will be seeking legal action and warn you all to be careful with your pets and small children at this location.

The hotel is kind hidden in a dark area (I arrived at night), which made me wonder. Other than that, I had a very nice stay. Everything was comfortable, pillows were very nice. Breakfast is pandemic style: cereals, some bread, etc, things you see everywhere nowadays. The only hot food is make-yourself waffle.

I’m happy to write Hampton Inn Baltimore/Owings Mills did not disappoint us. Hotel location is in a business park so it’s quiet and safe. It’s nice that they have a soft and softer pillows and are very comfortable bed. Our room is very clean and hallway carpet appears to be new and clean, breakfast is ok too. It’s the typical quick breakfast of scrambled eggs and potato.

Short version. Upon check in the door was jarred open but the room seemed clean. Ahjee Washington. Left the front desk and took the situation personally. I told her it was not trouble but she said I have checked in all my guest and my co worker can handle the remaining while I take care of you. It was like 1am. Upon her survey of the room she found the lock to be malfunctioning and worked hard to match our room reservation. To continue to keep our valentines weekend plans without a hiccup. Walked us to the new room and upon our head nod she said great and followed up later that evening. Great start to a weekend that could have ended up going in the wrong direction. Details. Check in issues fixed by great customer service. Upon my check in. On Valentine’s Day we received our keys quickly and with verbal clarity. I can tell you how many time I have to lean over cause they talk to the screen. In this case the short stature host made eye contact and was clear. When we arrived at out room the bolt was thrown which left the door ajar. Having never experienced this I was alarmed and walked into a clean room and clean trash cans and sink. With the room looking undisturbed. I still felt bothered and went to the front desk. After hearing my story and hearing here tell another guest that they were full I was in negotiation mode to try and still salvage my valentine’s weekend in a comparable room. Ahjee Washington turned to her co worker and left the desk to look at the room with me. I have never experienced a reception person walking or escorting me to my room. Now initially I was thinking. This level of service is going to end up with we don’t have a room story or we have this room but it smoking or it's in repair. You know something other than what u liked at check in. After arrival she followed protocol I never noticed from a Marriott and I travel a lot. She went over the room thoroughly but before she went over it she offered a new room first but it was not the king bed suite. She reviewed the room as if to write a report. But not to challenge the guest. Cause I am sensitive to when i say something and if it is received as let me decide if what u are telling me is what is true. Upon return to the desk she paused and then said ok we have a cancellation. I am going to switch you to the exact same room. Winning. Great feeling. Problem resolved and i did not have to lose in the process. Also Ahjee. Figured out the lock had malfunctioned. Now how does a malfunctioning lock throw the dead bolt and causes the door to be ajar is another conversation. But she said I dont feel comfortable. With you like this we will get the door repaired immediately but I would like you in a different room. Thank you Ahjee Washington. For bumping the lamp and providing great customer experience. Stayed at hotel in town for wedding of family friend. I was very impressed with this location. some pros and cons: Pros: lovely clean hotel friendly staff rooms spacious and cleaned daily-both refrigerator and microwave present large very comfortable king sized bed large work mobile station large walk-in shower stall- which included safety grab bar- branded toiletries -provided Dove-- Outside provided lovely seating area for one to enjoy meals or simple relax and of course having a complimentary breakfast provided was nice location was convenient to some nice restaurants Cons: no in room safe no exhaust fan/vent in bathroom rooms indicated as non-smoking however for first two night the heavy smell of ********* was present in hallway--management unable to address

I just want to say this was our first time coming to the Sonesta. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A special thanks to Michele who was a by far the most professional and friendly person. She was attentive to our needs and made the stay worth every penny. I would encourage anyone that is in the area to stay here. We will definitely be going back and staying. Loved the suite and the view! Once again we can’t thank Michele enough.
