The hotel is in a great location with ocean views, close to the city, shops and restaurant. The staff is extraordinary friendly and helpful, however, the hotel could do with a bit of a face-lift, a bit worn and I wrongly assumed it would provide basic facilities such as a toothbrush. The restaurant staff was equally friendly and breakfast was great and ample, but dinner was a bit of a disaster, could not eat the pork belly, it was one greasy lump, very disappointing. The pool was fantastic, quite unusual and beautifully lit at night, 5 stars. I was shocked by the state of the gym that used to be efficiently equipped and clean in the past. The equipment is at least 20 years old now, rusty and noisy.

Both me and my son enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Although its more like a 'clubbing' area, I feel it is still safe and I have a child with me. And its just two of us.
Staffs are friendly and hotel is at a good location. Room is well maintained, clean and comfortable. We had good 4 night of sleep! View from our room is fantastic. Breakfast was good too.
Will definitely return again!

This hotel should be better than it is due to what seems like a staff shortage. The beds and the room was fine but a minimum of staff was evident so service struggled. If the intention is to economise then they will not survive. I was instructed to leave the car in the adjacent carpark and was left to struggle with our luggage to the hotel where we loaded our own carriage to take to our room, all this in clear view of other staff. Where was the concierge. We had a drink at the quite busy bar and while waiting for service, we could clearly see that there was no concierge on duty. The carriage we used was left in the hall way until we checked out. Now, if you like Indian food you'll love this place. Trouble is if you don't, go elsewhere. I think a restaurant should be more flexible with their menu.

Stayed here for 3 nights, arriving after long flight from UK. No problem checking in, room in quiet location as requested. Some construction work going on at back of hotel, but nothing that disturbed me in the evening. Room was clean and had everything I needed for a short stay. Corridor and room carpets could do with replacing, but I guess that is a big expense after the last few years. Breakfast was more than adequate, with plenty of choice. The hot buffet was all fresh and frequently replenished. The young man in the restaurant (sorry I don't know your name), was very helpful and polite. Reception were helpful in booking a very early morning airport taxi for me, and on the morning of departure made certain that I safely got into my taxi. As a solo female traveller, it's the little details like that that mean so much. I would definitely return if i was visiting Perth again

The staff is warm and friendly, this is the cheapest budget hotel in the CBD. Walking distance to various restaurants. The only negative aspect is that the hotel has no parking space and can't park on the side of the road, although during the day, safety is difficult to guarantee and expensive.

Lots of the reviews here, I believe, are reviewing Mercure on Hay (the newer, more upmarket hotel and possibly better of the two although I havenāt seen it), whereas lots of reviews in Mercure Perth on Hay are referring to Mercure on Irwin. Iāve compared the photos and the hotel details and official photos are definitely that way round. SOā¦ this one, Mercure Perth (which is on Irwin St) is the bad one. Itās awful. Itās tired, badly fitted out, dingy and I hope never to stay here again. My room was down a corridor of *****ed (and stained) carpet that made me feel nauseous to look at. The room was ok, the bed comfortable, but more stained carpet, and lots of things didnāt work. Several light bulbs were broken, lots of curtain hooks missing, the room safe didnāt work, the bath had a rusty patch in it. The aircon was too cold for me and I followed the instructions to turn up the temperature but it didnāt warm up. Two phone calls and three hours later, someone attended my room, told me the air con wasnāt adjustable as itās one temperature for the whole building so the instructions were incorrect. He turned it off (supposedly) and I then spent my stay with no aircon although the room was still cold and not stuffy and the control panel didnāt say āoffā so I think the whole thing was just BS and they couldnāt be bothered to deal with it or give me another room. Staff care factor of the attendant was zero, and of the front desk staff, close to zero. I got woken up in the early hours of the morning several times by skip bins being moved around in the laneway outside (very loud chains being dropped in the skip bins and noise reverberation). The next night the fridge started making such a loud noise in the middle of the night that I had to turn it off and use the spare towels to absorb the water as it defrosted. Iām just curious why Mercure keep this one running. Perhaps itās set at a different price range but itās not doing their brand any favours with two Mercure hotels so close together, especially with all the reviews mixed up.

The river view room can see the city from a distance. The hotel is newly renovated. It can be seen that the room design is relatively sophisticated and the materials are very good. The thick doors, copper-looking hardware, and Japanese tea sets and tableware. Although the room is not It's quite big, but it's equipped with storage shelves, so the space seems to be ample. The waiters and front desk are friendly and considerate. Overall, it's good. It's very cost-effective in Perth.
Disadvantages: The sink is too small, and you have to wash your face next to the faucet; the corridor is open-plan, and the wind was particularly strong one night, and it was difficult to sleep with the door blowing all night long; there are not many choices for breakfast and the quality of the food needs to be improved.

GGuest UserThe Westin could be everything youād want from a great city hotel in a brand new curated precinct with restaurants and bars, let down completely by the incompetence and complete apathy of the staff. The exception was the front desk, with quick friendly service but beyond that it was completely amateur and haphazard. The room service was spotty everyday, and on 2 days the room was not made up, every other day the room coffee cups, milk or spoons or coffee pods or sugar or milk was not replaced or towels not provided. Youād think service staff have a checklist, should be easy right!? The lobby cafe in the hotel called Haven was more like Hell, I had to dedicate a separate review for that as the service was non existent, appalling. Garum again has so much potential, alas the service is astonishingly haphazard, food not delivered, 30 minutes to bring my wine, served up after my meal. Frankly the staff have no idea, the poor manager made up for it, but he is terribly let down by his team, who donāt seem to miss an opportunity to disappoint. Wow so much potential absolutely wasted by something very fixable, if you canāt change the people then change the people! There was clearly a lack of middle management. The porters at the door were equally incompetent or inexperienced, I fumbled my way through the two large entrance doors, and after I made my way through, there was a feeble attempt by one if the porters that lifted his head up from his phone to assist with my hand luggage into my car, he seemed so pleased with himself that he was my knight in shining armour, hopeless. Come on Westin, prove me wrong, really I want this fantastic hotel to succeed in my neighbourhood, I want to recommend you to my colleagues and friends but fix your rubbish service!! Until then I canāt recommend you, I have a reputation to protect something you should care about as well.
GGuest UserCalling all curlies! Our room came with a Dyson hairdryer and diffuser. Perfect. Room decor is very classy as are all the common areas. Truth be told I found it a little dark to see well, but thatās the price of ambiance. We had a little problem with the bed on the first night and the staff quickly fixed it the next day. Great service. Excellent Italian restaurant in the hotel - youāll have to book, even mid-week.
GGuest UserWe stayed here for two nights after a 17 hour flight from London Heathrow to Perth after waiting more than one and half hours for our luggage we got a taxi to this hotel and the service was very good. We checked in and went to our room where there was tea and coffee available in the room. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable as were the pillow up to the standard of Holiday Inn around the world. We went down to Ivy and Jack's which is attached to the hotel. The food was very good but more like share platters and good for the occasional drink rather than a main meal. I believe this is where they service the breakfast if you have a breakfast package with the hotel. This hotel is right in the heart of the city so close to everything but not a lot of restaurants to eat at during the dinner service. Most hotels seem to only service lunches or late afternoon snacks.
GGuest UserWe wanted accommodation close to the Arena and this was perfect. The staff, cleanliness, breakfast, accessible bathroom, were all great. Shame about the comfort level of the bed and couch. The bed rolled into the middle big time and was very low. The couch was extremely low making it unusable for a person especially with a disability. They had obviously not thought about this aspect of useability only the bathroom to make it an accessible rating. We would stay again but not in that room and we would enquire about the comfort of the furniture.
GGuest UserI donāt think this hotel is in the best part of town but it is fairly central and easy to walk to some of the sights in the CBD and about 10 minutes walk from the station. However I wouldnāt walk around here at night on my own. I checked in quite late in the evening after a long flight from the UK. I had booked a small queen room and it was small. There was only a bedside table on one side of the bed, no wardrobe but two hooks with hangers on. There was a kettle, safe and fridge. The hotel website also mentioned a washing machine and tumble dryer for guests. What they did not tell me before I arrived was that there was building works going on in the hotel which started at 8 am. Not great when I was struggling with the UK / Australia time difference. It was quite noisy. The bed was really comfortable as there was a padded mattress topper. There was also air-con in the room which could be used to heat or cool the room. Although there was a mirror over the sink in the bathroom there was no mirror in the room with decent lighting to sort make up etc. out. There was a full length mirror near the door but not particularly well lit. The shower room was clean, with two large newish white towels provided. The water from the shower was hot, and decent pressure. It did leak a little under the door but not too much to become a problem. One of the issues with the room was noise control - I could clearly hear my neighbours raising and lowering the blind so there was definitely noise escape around the large windows. I was also woken during the night by one of the neighbours snoring loudly. And woken a few times each night by people returning to their rooms late. There is no restaurant for breakfast at the hotel but there are plenty of cafes locally. I chose this hotel because it was priced competitively but would not have chosen it otherwise
GGuest UserGREAT FRIENDLY CHECK IN THE HOTEL ITSELF IS REALLY GORGEOUS. COMFY BED VERY CLEAN. GREAT TO SEE A HOTEL BAR THAT WAS VIBRANT AND NOT OVERPRICED. FANTASTIC LOCATION CLOSE TO EVERYTHING. WE HAD A GREAT STAY HERE
GGuest UserThe environment is really good, next to the stairs to the kings park, the sanitation is also good, the large floor-to-ceiling windows in the room are super comfortable, and the facilities are complete, and there is a free zone to city within two minutes walk. The only disadvantage is that there is no parking space
SShareTipsGood value for its price level. Basic room, clean enough despite being rather dated (still using the traditional key with that big plastic attachment). Check-in staff, breakfast & location also good. A few stops on the free Red CAT from Perth Stn to the block behind. A block away is the wonderful vast expanse of Langley Park with the Swan River at the side.
XXIAOBINThe hotel is in a good location. It's more than ten minutes' walk to Terminal B and the supermarket, but the rooms are very small, like a capsule hotel, the Internet is very slow, and the parking lot costs 25 days a day, which is really expensive!
I stayed for 4 nights, the room was clean and tidy with comfortable bed. Separate toilet and shower for men and women. Shared kitchenette was clean and very handy to use. tried their food which was delicious. Everyday food specials with good dollar value. The staff was very helpful as they let me put my luggage at hotel after i had checked out - safe and secure. Bus stop very closeby and walking distance to centre of Fremantle.
