We arrived at the hotel around 9:30pm after a long day of traveling. We specifically picked this hotel because it advertised an on-site restaurant. Sadly, “restaurant” was an overstatement. There was no one at the bar, but a printed menu listing 5 options, all bar food (burgers, chicken tenders, hot wings or pizza). We ordered burgers and were told that they were not selling burgers tonight. So, We ordered chicken strips and tried to order a cocktail. The bar tender had no knowledge of common cocktails and when I asked what he COULD make, he pointed to the bar to show me what liqueurs he had in stock. We asked what sodas he had, and he just pointed to the snack bar across the lobby with bottled beverages. He brought our food out, and the chicken was over cooked and the fries soggy and undercooked. We decided we were too frustrated to sit down in the “restaurant” to eat our meal, so I gave him my card to pay for our meal. He took it over to the front desk to run the card and then spent several minutes fumbling about b/c the receipt did not print. I told him not to bother, that I did not need a receipt.

We have stayed at the hotel before, this is the 2nd time we have stayed. We stayed for 10 days in total. Mixed reviews - When we arrived as we had separate bedrooms, we all needed to check in individually, my brother was right next to my mum and dad in tower 1 and I was put all the way in a separate tower. Common sense would’ve been to put us all together. My mum wasn’t too happy about this and went to reception with me, baring in mind the person she spoke to when she checked in said how unbelievably quiet they are. The lady me and my mum spoke to at reception, shoulder length black hair, small in height, was very ****y, didn’t want to help us whatsoever, said how they are extremely busy they are unable to do this, okay, very mixed considering we’ve just been told how quiet the hotel is, must not care about anyone else’s safety apart from her own. I hope this lady doesn’t keep her job, she doesn’t know the meaning of good customer service. Hotel is very loud, meant to be a budget hotel but need a loan for the food. Walls are paper thin, can hear everything of what’s going on next door. So yeah, if you want to stay in a loud hotel, lazy moody staff with expensive food, cleaners that barely clean your room, then go ahead.

Excellent if you are on a budget better than Rosin Inn which is brits tend to go the room worked out at £45 per night for a family of four plus you get free buffet breakfast food nice hot and cold food and hot and cold drinks fruit and yogurts scrambled eggs bacon everything is their no parking fee we didn’t pay a resort fee either staff lovlely twice my son put an egg in the microwave and it exploded they never complained room spotless free shuttles to both Disney and universal

This hotel, good location, the service is also very good, the staff are smiling, the breakfast is considered good at a certain level, the only downside is that the room at the mattress and the bathroom has a small cockroach. Up to the bed as you can see, the hotel has a renewed, but some of them do not finish the room, there is an old part and there are cockroaches living in it.

I wish I had more nice things to say about our visit to Rosen Shingle Creek. Overall it was a nice stay, but little negatives piled up throughout, resulting in this average review. I brought my family along with me for a very large conference being held at the Orlando Convention Center, and the RSC was an official conference hotel, so many attendees were staying here. PROS . The staff! Overall, wonderful, friendly, engaging and responsive. Shout out to Heather and Mike at the Cat-Tails bar and poolside service. We had an Amazon Fresh order scheduled (there is a small fridge in the room) and the bell stand delivered it within 5 minutes of us requesting it. My mom and niece were also staying at the hotel, and the front desk attendant thoughtfully placed our rooms right next to each other. . Conference management. We had a great conference rate and the acknowledgment of our (significant) presence was thoughtful. Overall, the team was well prepared for several hundred attendees moving around the property. CONS . Rooms NOT that family friendly. I have a real issue with hotel bathroom designs that aren’t accessible for kids. I had to drag the ottoman into the bathroom area so my youngest could reach the sink. A huge leather ottoman in the bathroom is not ideal. . Substandard housekeeping. I asked for laundry bags from our service provider and was told they weren’t available. She pressured us out of our room one day saying she was trying to finish her shift early and upset my niece to the point of tears. Another morning, we had privacy lock and sign on and they were knocking at 8:30 to come in. It all felt very disconnected. . The Food. The biggest disappointment was that a resort this size, and a Universal Studios property, was such a let-down when it came to food. If you have any food allergy whatsoever, don’t stay here. The RSC makes little to no accommodation for food allergy or intolerance, which is very surprising in this day and age. My husband is celiac and other than FRENCH FRIES and VEGETABLES was extremely restricted in his food options. Only one restaurant was able to offer him gluten free bread for a burger. Food allergies are more and more common, it is unreasonable that RSC was lacking in its accommodations. In comparison to Disney properties where almost anything can be accommodated for food allergies, it was a glaring difference. Food options for children were also limited and unhealthy. After three days of eating cereal, French fries, and cardboard pizza, my kids were desperate for a freaking hot dog. None of the seven restaurants offered such a thing, but I was told they were available at the golf course snack stand. So I walk all the way out there to get three hot dogs and they were…sold out of hot dogs. Our Amazon Fresh delivery was a godsend, and there’s a Publix market at the end of the (very long) resort drive. . Universal partner means what?? The airport hotel has very good service. I will come again next time. The hotel is clean. There is free water and free coffee every day. The airport is very convenient. No rush. I will come again next time. The price is also cheap. Love it

When we first tried to check in there was a problem with the system as several of my credit cards didn't work even though they were all good. This was for a deposit. The woman who checked us in was very nice. One card finally worked. The room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The next morning and every morning the breakfast was very good. We were staying here to go to Daytona International Speedway two days in a row. I found that although it is the Orlando area it is still cheaper than staying closer to Daytona. It is only an hour drive to Daytona from there. The first night we returned to the hotel about 3:30AM and found that our room door was not closed all the way and therefore unlocked. I called the desk right away to report it. Luckily nothing was missing. The next day we went back to the track (Saturday). Upon returning that night just before midnight we found our key cards didn't work. We went around to the front door. The inside door was locked, I couldn't see anyone at the desk and there was no sign directing you to the intercom on wall which I didn't notice. I tapped on door. My wife noticed the intercom after that. The woman at the desk spoke to us through it. I told her our key cards were not working. She asked if we were staying there after that. I said yes. She let us in and blamed us for the card problem because my wife put her phone on the desk saying we put the cards by our phones. I pointed out that my card was in my wallet and no where near my phone. She gave us new cards. She was very rude in my opinion. When we got to our room it was not made up with no towels replaced. We checked out the next morning.

Booked this location for a two night stay for our 5 year anniversary for the purpose of visiting Universal Orlando and Islands of Adventure theme parks. Called a day before arrival to see if I could have a bottle of wine or champagne waiting as a small surprise for my wife. The gentleman I spoke to was very polite but informed me that this location didn’t offer such a service. He did say he would make a note on the account that is was an anniversary trip. Upon arrival the following day, the concierge who greeted us offered us a congratulations as we checked in. We were upgraded rooms to a junior sweet and even had our parking fees waived. It was a very thoughtful gesture and really got our trip off to a great start. Every staff member we encountered was very polite and welcoming and we really appreciated it. Room was clean. Did not have a single issue. Only a 10-20 minute drive from Universal with a car rented.

The Fairfield at Marriott Village is a great holiday. The location is so wonderful that regretfully, we did not have an opportunity to use the hotel amenities such as the pool etc. We did have breakfast daily, which had a good selection of hot items, breads and cereals. The Mickey Mouse pancakes were delicious. Our rooms were large and spacious, with great air conditioning, lovely hot showers and sufficient tv channels. The beds and rooms were very clean. It is very handy that there are washers and dryers and ice machines on every floor or every other floor. The hotel offers a free shuttle to the parks but we preferred to drive to be able to leave and return to the park, for necessary breaks in the height of the heat. Would happily stay there again. There are 2 other hotels on the property (Courtyard and Springhill). I imagine these are more upscale. I would have appreciated an offer to ”upgrade” at a nominal fee to experience.
