Originally booked this reservation via the Wyndham web site… Wyndham Corp screwed up and made an immediate reservation rather than a future date! Called Days Inn Orillia to correct, but was advised it was corporate that got the reservation. Called Corporate and got nowhere… Wyndham Corp are cheats! The General Manager graciously offered a resolution rather than refund, which was out of their control. The GM was great! I look forward to spending a night at Days Inn Orillia!

We are long time returning guests. We stayed for a week and our visit was almost perfect except for quite a few dining room issues. The resort looks amazing, nice landscaping, very clean, our cottage was perfect for our family, rec program is great, office staff is friendly and helpful. However, the food this year was hit or miss. Breakfast and lunch buffets were generally good- except some finishing touches were missing - like topping for the tacos- no sour cream, lettuce, etc. or sauces for the egg rolls, etc. -just small things that should have been included. Also, it might be a good idea to require parents to accompany children at the buffets. We saw a group of little guys put their mouths on the lemonade spigots and lick the jars, and touch all the desserts. Dinner was our main issue. More traditional dishes would be appreciated. And what we did order was overcooked or small portioned- literally 3 slivers of sausage in the tortellini dish. We actually went out to dinner 2 nights while at the resort due to the choices that were offered. Also, although the wait staff was friendly and attentive, we had difficulty communicating our needs at times. And unfortunately, I hate to say it, lots of body odor issues which is not something you want to experience in the dining room. And finally, lunch was not served on the Sunday but is provided in the snack bar for guests. However, when we went to the snack bar to order, the staff had no idea what was going on. When the situation was finally resolved and it was determined that yes, we get a lunch it took 2 hours!!! for chicken fingers, burgers and fries....We have rebooked for next summer, we love the lake and the resort itself. However, we are unsure if we will be getting a meal plan again or cooking our own meals. Bayview is known for it's amazing food, but this year, it just wasn't up to par. Hopefully, these issues can get resolved.

Beautiful spot. Newer property. Construction on site. Wish they paid more attention to a few details. The bed was small. A double doesn’t feel very luxurious for a couples get away. No mirrors except in the bathroom. I would have appreciated another one at least in the bedroom. Decor is modern and white. Tends to show scuffs and markings easily. Too bad Travelers don’t take more care. Unit was a good size for a couple. Everything you’d need for a longer stay like dishwasher and laundry. This was a special treat for us. At this price a little more attention to detail would go a long way. Also- no housekeeping. This is a pet peeve in hotels lately. At the price a freshening of the room would be appreciated. Weather was in favour yep couldn’t take advantage of all the surroundings.

The hotel is located near the former residence of the great communist warrior Bethune, on the side of the road to Algonquin Provincial Park (one of the best places to see the maple in Canada). It is very easy to find. You can see the maple leaves when you open the window in the room. Beautiful! Although on the side of the road, it is very quiet at night! The hotel is clean and tidy, and the beds are large (no extra beds are allowed). It is very loose to take a child to rest with. The rooms are not big, but they are well-equipped with microwaves, refrigerators, coffee makers, etc. The front desk service was very warm and thoughtful. Considering our age, it was very convenient to arrange our accommodation on the first floor. I also explained in detail to the map which places to enter Algonquin Provincial Park are the best places to appreciate the maple. It also tells us that we are very lucky, it happens to be the maple leaf blooming season. It is within walking distance to the Bethune Memorial, it is worth staying.

Outstanding
WWoshimaijiyaYou can stay at a hotel owned by Marriott with confidence
The decoration is very new and the facilities are also good
There's also breakfast, eggs, bacon, milk
The price is also moderate and the price/performance ratio is very high. If you stay in a hotel like this in Toronto, it would cost double the price.
MmarkstutmanPaid $320/night for a room that should have been $135. - Broken furniture - musty old funky smell - rooms are desperate for updating - bed sagged - very noisy AC - loud rattling pipes in the walls when neighbors showered - unwashed dishes in cupboards - mold, earwigs, and spiders in the bathroom - bathroom counter 8” lower than modern standard - carpet made us want to keep our shoes on - front desk staff, while friendly, had no interest in hearing our complaints - no room cleaning service during our stay (COVID is long since done, people). - Feel ripped off and won't ever stay at this hotel again (and maybe no other Best Western Plus now)

I have mobility issues and in all fairness I didn’t disclose this when I booked. Our room 220 and another family looking for 215 had difficulty finding the rooms. We went the elevator to floor 2. There was an L shaped hallway. Finally found a door that indicated where our rooms were. It was approximately 8 steps down to a very small landing and another 3 steps up. Not accessible at all Room was clean and quite nice We had dinner with friends at Fionn’s. Again, there was a ramp to the patio that is made narrow by the bikes in the bike rack. To get into the restaurant, again was 10 stairs up. We waited and the host brought my walker upstairs to the restaurant. Washrooms again down 2 flights of stairs. I had someone carry my walker back down the stairs. Only 2 of 4 of us really enjoyed the meal. The side of beans was hard, steak pie not very hot, Yorkshire pudding and steak wrap is quite cold. Service was not very good. Employees standing around as I waved my hand multiple times to get someone’s attention. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant.
RRobin BIf you are mobility challenged, don't book this hotel through a discount site like booking or priceline. You probably won't get a ground floor room, they can't change it at check in, and there is no elevator. Other than that it was ok. Appropriate for the chain and the price point. The room and breakfast area were super clean. Breakfast was better than anticipated, with bacon and a small omelet. Great amenities in the room-coffee, microwave, fridge, iron/ironing board and a nice wardrobe type closet. My only complaint (besides the second floor room) was that there was only one nightstand. We travel with quite a few electronics and it would be nice to have them bedside. Internet was strong, and the tv cable channels were good. I'm finding that more and more rare as I travel. There's a lot to be said for decent tv when you're on the road! It was easy to find and convenient to food and the ******. Everything is within a 15 minute drive. Lots of free parking on the hotel lot as well. I will likely book again for our ****** trips.
The most beautiful thing in this hotel is the pool /hot top and sauna. Pool was big and 8 feet depth and clean, although it wasn’t hot but for me it was warm enough for swimming while my family preferred if it’s more warmer. Hot breakfast was good , having waffles, omelette, French potato and sausage was great for breakfast with fruits, it’s only missing yogurt and some pastries.if those were there the breakfast will be perfect . Room was spacious and clean, and the good thing about this hotel there is no stairs for second level because the property is on slope no need for stairs. Customer service was amazing and professional, responded fast and very helpful when I asked them for a different room than what was chosen for me. Also allowed me to late checkout so we can enjoy the pool as possible. Me and my family liked it very much and would come back again.
Have stayed in the past, probably 10 years ago now and really enjoyed our stay at that time. So, this time around we were coming for a concert @ ****** Rama and to do a bit of cycling the following day. We booked through ******* but also checked the hotel site and they had no mention of not allowing bicycles in your room. Well to our surprise upon checking in, right at the reception is a sign on the counter, no bicycles allowed. To top it off, if they caught you sneaking a bicycle into the room, they would charge you $250.00. We asked the front desk staff if they had a storage room where we could put the bikes overnight. That was responded with a rather snarky & smirky response of NO. They suggested we leave the bikes on the bike rack outside of the front door overnight, to which I responded, not a chance. To the non cyclist's out there, you would probably say what's all the fuss about with bicycles, well, like many things these days, they aren't inexpensive. My partner spoke to the manager and she got an even nastier reception and response. We wound up going across the road to a small motel, not as nice of a place as Stone Gate but the owner was gracious enough to allow us to bring the bikes in the room. To add to the story, 5 days later, my partner receives a phone call from some rude, obnoxious employee of Stone Gate to discuss our dissatisfaction. Probably due to the fact I gave them a bad review on their Facebook page. The employee was hard to understand, obviously English was not his first language and mentioned that the review would not help their business. A true genius if there ever was one, if you are in the service industry, customer satisfaction is key and if you don't like negative reviews, treat your guests in a more professional manner. Then after a few minute discussion back and forth, he obviously became quite agitated and hung up. Great customer relations on their part. Well, now I will post a bad review wherever and whenever possible and never recommend this business.
