We have not made it to this wonderful hotel for a year, despite having booked several times last year, but life got in the way. We had been coming here every couple of months for 5 years. When we got here it was like coming home to family. The staff were largely unchanged which is testament to the Management and the dedication of the staff. As always all the staff, the service and the food were fantastic. We are still in the hotel having extended our stay for another night and I wish we could stay longer but life is calling. Our thanks to all the staff (too many to name) and we will not be leaving it as long for our next stay. Sorry !

I stayed at premier inn Northampton for 2 nights,my trade union made the accommodation arrangements for me, iwas attending a union reps conference a short distance away. I was put in an accessible bedroom, which I didn't like, not enough storage in either the bathroom or the bedroom, the carpet wasn't clean enough, the toilet was stained and dirty,Glen very kindly cleaned it for me, he is wonderful, as are Gail and Emilia. Nobody told me on arrival that ypu actually have to.ask for your room to be cleaned,so when I got back from my conference yesterday afternoon, I was met with an unmade bed and no clean towels,I had to get some myself from reception, this annoyed me. This morning, as I was preparing to check out,I found a pair of dirty mens socks underneath my bed,how disgusting !!! On.the plus side, the breakfast was nice, the staff are all lovely and good at their roles, but you need to train your cleaning staff to pay more attention to detail,I've stayed at many different premier inn hotels and many different locations, the standards here are just not good enough.

The Sunley Hotel is located in Northampton University campus. Parking is convenient ion Car Park 3. When I stayed there it was during the heat wave so some areas were very warm. The bedroom came with a fan which made the room tolerable. The room is very modern and comfortable. PLeanty of power outlets and tea making facilities. Room was not too small either. Breakfast was in the dining hall opposite and was quite good. The location is very close tpo the centre of Northampton and I was able to walk to work along the river. Very pleasant. The bed was remarkably comfortable, and the room was not only pleasant but also remarkably soundproof, allowing for a peaceful night's rest. I especially appreciated being able to open the windows for a quick breath of fresh air.

Stayed here at the weekend with friends; lovely room, enjoyed the evening meal and a fab breakfast. Would recommend. The only downside was that there is a service charge payable on all drinks that you are not notified of. We queried our bar bill as it didn’t make sense and was told by a member of staff that on all purchases a 10% charge is payable. There is no signs up around the bar area notifying you of this. We were told that the staff are not allowed to tell you about this. To me that seems fraudulent. Surely you can’t be charged for something that you don’t know about every time you go up to the bar and purchase a drink? Not sure if the staff get this money or the company. If this is company policy are they breaking the law by not notifying you of this? Please be wary.

CChelseaUpdated the decor and looks better. The staff remember me even though I’ve not been there for awhile which is lovely so they keep notice of the regulars that come in or they will try and remember your name. A little effort and details at the staff give makes a whole load a difference.
Hospitality is a hard, hard industry. Even when you’re great, it’s easy to fail. One of the shining lights in the restaurant sector within Northamptonshire over the last 12 months is The French Partridge Hotel in Horton. I’ve been here several times and every time it’s been exceptional from a venue, customer service and food quality perspective. Honestly, the best Sunday roasts (they start making their gravy on a Monday!) I’ve ever had. The only shame is - it seems to be half empty each time I’ve been as few know about it. If you ever find yourselves thinking of somewhere new to try - come here! You won’t be disappointed. We don’t have many nice things in Northampton, so it would be a shame to lose it 💯👌👍
Ppeter johnIt's ok. Rooms are very small. Shower was good wofi ok. Bed very comfortable
Noise carries a little in the rooms. Breakfast was continental. Nice coffee but choice was bland with food
They want you out by 10 in the morning so be aware.
GGuest UserI only stayed for 1 night on a business trip but would have been happy to stay longer, was surprised by the reviews but most poor reviews are now dated. There is a small car park next to the hotel and you just put your registration into the tablet at reception to avoid a parking fine. From the moment I arrived the staff were so welcoming, my room was on the top floor and there are no lifts due to the age of the building but there are plenty of landings to stop on the way up. The room was clean, warm and the bed could have slept 7. Lovely ensuite with walk in shower and the towels were hanging over a warming radiator so were toasty after the shower and they were super fluffy. I ate in the restaurant for my evening meal, it was very relaxed, even with a disco going on in the main room, the ceaser salad was tasty and a good sized portion, the bread and butter pudding was amazing ! Once you leave the bar area you can't hear the main room disco. Your breakfast is made to order and there is a selection of juices, cereals and bread for toasting while you wait. The food was served on a warmed plate and was just right to set you up for the day. The staff throughout the stay were nothing but friendly and helpful.
GGuest UserWe stayed Friday for one night as we were visiting friends in nearby ****on Bec. We were warmly greeted by Julian and check-in was easy. Our accommodation is just across the car park and was more than adequate for our needs. We decided to have a drink before going out and there is a good selection of beers and wines, all reasonably priced. We thoroughly enjoyed chatting to Julian and learning about his sister's plans for The Narrow Boat. Obviously in January the weather isn't appropriate for sitting out in the garden overlooking the canal, but there is also another indoor restaurant that overlooks the terrace. We were more than happy sitting in the smaller restaurant/bar area particularly with the log-burning stove beside us! We had a look at the food menu which looked very nice and reasonably priced. Our breakfast on Saturday morning was delicious. My husband opted for the ”full works” which had a supplement, whilst I went for the standard one. Very nicely presented and the poached eggs were perfectly cooked. As other people have said, The Narrow Boat is on the A5 so you will experience some noise from the road but you get used to it. We look forward to coming back to stay again the next time we're in the area. Thanks to Julian and the chef for making us so welcome.
GGuest Userhe issue that I have experienced was: When I first arrived at the hotel I requested an iron and and ironing board. The member of staff gave me an iron but stated that I could not have an ironing board because it must be in a room. I asked if I could get it later as I need to iron my shirt for work and was informed that it would be sent to my room. This happened at around 3 in the afternoon, it is now 10.15 at night and they have not produced it. Next I ordered a meal in my room, I waited 1 hour before going to reception and finding out they forgot to send my meal to my room. I was informed that the meal was ready now if I wanted it I could take it, which I was happy to do, only to find out that they had tried to give me my meal that was stone cold. Not good for chicken and chips. I then ordered a smaller snack because of the time and waited 45 minutes telephoned reception and was told by the supervisor that they had just come on shift and knew nothing about my issues. She apologised and assured me that she would personally bring my sandwich to me in 15 minutes, 30 minutes later I go to reception as I had still not got my sandwich and it was too late to eat at 9.30 at night. I asked to speak to the supervisor outside as the members of staff who gave me this poor service were by reception and I wanted to speak privately, outside I did not get an apology for the poor customer service of her staff and she did not apologies for incorrectly telling how long I would have to wait the second time, after I had told her about my poor experience. She then said ”you don't want the food raw, do you” after me complaining about her keeping waiting the second time. I teach customer service and this has been the worst service I have ever received in a hotel ever, and I will using this experience with Ibis in my classes on a perfect example of how not to treat a customer for a long time. This is my first experience of Ibis hotels and I am shocked that this is how you treat your guests. It occurred on: 01/09/2022 This meant that I am in my hotel room furious and disappointed and have not eaten. It feel ironic that tomorrow I will be teaching customer service and I am unable to sleep because of how much this has affected me. I am not satisfied with the service I have received and I feel frustrated that it is too late to book into another hotel. Train your staff to a much better standard and made aware that this is not good enough. Send me a full apology and the cost of my evening meal that I did receive should be charged. I don't expect any of the things I have shared with you to make any difference to the staff and if I was ever foolish enough to stay at this hotel again I am sure I would get the same poor customer service. I just hope that this is a poor hotel and it does not reflect other hotels in your chain.
