The service is wonderful. You are made to feel like a VIP guest with staff smiling and greeting and offering immediately to help you.
Evening fruit and red bean dessert was a nice treat.
When we requested a room change for a different view we were quickly helped with no bad feelings or sense of inconvenience.
It honestly is one of the best experiences Ive had in hotels.

It was very pleasant experience to stay in the hotel in the middle of the summer. Temperature is lower by 5-10 degree, so it is easier to breathe. Rooms are great, a lot of free space. Beautiful forest views, fresh air and smell of woods. Staff is helpful and respectful, very attentive, especially housekeeper Yujie, language barrier did not stop them (we don't speak Chinese). We also had photoshooting there, photographer is great, so energetic and enthusiastic, he was ready to use translator a lot without hesitation. Recommend to everyone who wants to stay close to nature.

We went to this lovely hotel in the ‘Cloud Forest’ directly after National Holiday with our family of 4 (2 toddlers) and my parents. We had two Songyuan rooms which were totally amazing. Stunning view of the trees and river and extremely spacious and thought out.
In fact the entire resort is beautiful and our kids LOVED the golf cart rides to dinner.
We got very unlucky with weather as it poured the two days we were there but we still managed the walk to Chiang Kai-sheks villa and water feature - which was beautiful and interesting.
On a slightly different note, with a western perspective there were a couple areas for improvement.
Ideally the restaurant menus could be translated to English and left in the rooms (it’s a nightmare trying to translate a menu, pick what to order with 2 hungry kids at a restaurant).
Also, the playroom wasn’t a playroom while we were there which was a big disappointment since it was raining. Not as advertised - just carpet in a room (which the kids did still have fun running around on).
Finally, a good hiking map of the area in the room would have been appreciated too.

The environment was great.
Food a bit pricy.
The hotel room was fabulous and clean.
Hotel service excellent. Prior to your trip the hotel management will call up to inform about weather, arrange for transport to pick up from train station. The price for transport are reasonable. Driver Mr Dan has great driving skill, caring and friendly.

The hotel in the primeval forest is surrounded by tall trees and natural water flows through the woods. It is a good place to relax and recuperate.
The hotel is also decorated in a casual style, with independent space, quiet and comfortable. Thanks to the housekeeper Yujie, who contacted me as soon as I made the reservation that night. I particularly liked the desserts sent. I will book dinner in advance. Dinner has local specialties. Drunken crabs are recommended.
The hotel has a trail to the Chiang-Song Villa, as well as a mountain trail and a hiking camp, which is also suitable for cycling.

Fortunately, I was upgraded to Songyue Room. The room is big enough. It was a bit cold in the late autumn night. The floor heating was hot when I entered the room. My son was so happy. The housekeeper Yanan was very considerate. It was a pity that I checked out too early and didn't drink the coffee prepared by the housekeeper. I look forward to staying here again next time.
