ZERO focus on service - it is all about squeezing every last penny out of visitors. Housekeeping refuse to change the towels - they ask for EXTRA MONEY to change towels. The rooms are β¬250 per night, but they only replace your towels for an extra fee. Greed hit a new low. They provide two old, thin, very very small, extremely poor quality towels for your entire stay. Youβll get better respect and service at a basic 2-star hotel. The condition of the room was also very poor. Damp/mould visible in the bathtub and the TV remote had old, stale food all over it. Bed linen torn, cheap and old. Note: the hotel may charge you an extra 54% on arrival even after paying in full on Bookingcom - you will be out of pocket of that value for 31 days or whenever they feel like reverting or refunding. It got me thinking I may as well have gone for a more expensive hotel for the overall cost. In spite of this, Nijmegen is a place very close to my heart and this hotel is very well located with comfortable rooms (although a little chilly as the air con is without a warming function - being a winter visit). As a frequent visitor of hotels, at least once every 6 to 8 weeks, this hotel will meet your needs and I do like the catering for business such as a desk in each room as well as the fridge and kettle provisions. The unadvertised charge of 54% extra (out of pocket) being the main gripe, which is in no relation to City Tax or Service Charge which is ok. This overall would otherwise be a reasonably 'ok' stay.
Our historic hotel in Nijmegen is a destination on its own. The Rebyl is located just at the edge of the city centre of the vibrant city. The beautiful, stately building on Vierdaagseplein has a remarkable history. For over 50 years, until 1973, the building provided education to several generations of Nijmegen women in the tumultuous period after the first and second world wars. The era when many female Rebyls emerged. This characteristic landmark was a high school for girls for decades and is now transformed into a 4 star hotel The Rebyl, Nijmegen, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel. In addition to a rich history, the city offers a vibrant and thriving cultural and nightlife scene with museums, concert halls and theaters.

This hotel was a major letdown for me. Considering the price, I had at least expected a clean room. Although it had a nice-looking, old-fashioned style, my room was unfortunately filthy. To be honest, it was truly disgusting. I discovered a dozen human hairs on the bed sheets, the bathroom was stained from the previous guest, and the toilet had traces of feces(!!). Adding to my disappointment, the reception was closed when I arrived around 9:30 pm, so I had to call a phone number to gain entry (they only answered after my second call). I found my key card at the front desk, with nobody available to address my concerns about the dirty room. It felt like I had no choice but to reluctantly accept it and sleep in already-used bed sheets. Absolutely revolting! I will never stay here again!

Lovely hotel. Great location right next to the train station, 4 mins on the train into the centre of Nijmegen with trains every 30 mins. Helpful and friendly staff. Free car parking, easy to get a space in the multi storey car park attached to the hotel. The breakfast buffet was incredible! Crepe/ omelette live cooking, extensive hot and cold buffets and even Prosecco if you fancied it.

GGuest UserI spent a Sunday and Monday night there; paid by my host (the university). Great choice on their part. The room was well appointed except for the somewhat small safe which would not accommodate my laptop. That said, the place is quite safe (access to the guest rooms via elevator that requires guest access card), so I just left it in the open. There's a coffee machine in the room and you can get extra capsules from the front-desk if need be. Toilet and shower are separate but, yes, as JapanGirl has mentioned, if you are not alone, you need to feel quite comfortable with your partner ... Wifi is stable and pretty fast, also on the ground floor/brekkie area, tv has some English language channels. Brekkie is fabulous and plenty. The ground floor is separated in about half a dozen areas and you can have brekkie in an ambiance of your choice. I had a colleague over for an hour to discuss one of her projects and ordered a cappuccino for her. When I wanted to pay for it, I was told that was fine. Everyone on the staff is super-nice and helpful. Good vibes. Really quite liked the place.
I had a great stay here. Big room with a small kitchen, dinnertable and a sizeable bathroom. Everything clean and tidy. The room has a guesthouse feeling and not a bland hotel room appearance. Very helpful and nice staff. The guesthouse is in the middle of the city centre. 4 mins walk to the train station and 2 mins walk to the concert place Doornroosje, which was my purpose of the stay. One thing to note is that the reception is not staffed during night. If you need to check in or out after 18:00 you need to contact the staff beforehand. With your room card you can enter and leave the guesthouse at your will 24/7 so I had no problem with this arrangement. I will certainly book here again if I ever find myself in Nijmegen again.
This hotel is completely understaffed. It's ran by one front desk person who's never there, and a guy who's not in hotel uniform at night who plays poker with his rowdy friends in the lobby who doesn't want to help with anything. The AC does not work unless the outside temperature is above 18'C (for βecoβ reasons which is just a trick to save money of course). Meanwhile inside it's 25'C and you can not cool the room. There's no water bottles in the room. If you want to buy water, there's a vending machine, but you can't pay with bills or card. You need to pay with coins. If you ask the front desk for coins, he doesn't have coins of course. The cleaners did not clean for 2 days when we stayed for 4 days. So half the time there was no cleaning. Even when we explicitly asked the cleaners and front desk for cleaning and put the door sign up to clean. The gym has no weights, dumb bells, barbell. Just treadmill, bicycle, rowing machine. That would be okay, but it's not even cleaned once during our stay. It looks like this hotel chain is ran with the minimum staff and costs possible to maximize profits. But it's not a great experience. The building is functional and renovated and good though.

GGuest UserGreat location at the river and in the center. Nice river view from small but comfortable rooms. The hotel is a former warehouse with lots of old details that add to the nice atmosphere. The whole building but also the breakfast and level of service represent the love of the host for his guests. Every hotel would wish such a great host.
Good service, good beds, casual atmosphere. And beautiful room. Excellent breakfast and very friendly staff. The location is perfect, right in the center.. parking garage within crawling distance, moving around all day costs β¬15. We have nothing negative to say. Top! And don't forget, delicious coffee!
