This is the worst accommodation I have ever seen. It was evident that the room had not been cleaned. There were stains on the bed sheets, mascara marks on the pillow and bodily fluids on the curtains. The room structure badly needs to be maintained as parts of the walls were crumbling. There were mould and cobwebs. I refused to stay here in the end as I was so disgusted with the state of the room. It completely ruined our evening.

TOO MANY Compliments to cover here in detail. Yes we have just had, an amazing time, a long weekend stay . With Free Parking at the back of hotel. We went for the superior room option with a sea view. Was so worth it. Although any room would suit. Loved our stay the pub staff are great too.

Would not recommend here and will never be back! To begin with we received an email with a code, no where did it state we had to go into the bar O’Hares to receive our key, we didn’t even need this code. Once we finally got into our room we got settled and realised it was filthy!! The shower head was all covered in a grimey scum, the bed sheets were covered in stains, the bed sheet, duvet & pillow cases seemed to have make up on them!? There was no soap in the bathroom (we had to buy one!!) the kettle was dirty, the tray it sat on with the mugs had nothing but sugar and coffee spilled over it! Also the mantle piece had coffee stains over it. I wouldn’t have been setting anything onto the self in the wardrobe either as this was covered in a layer of dust & the curtains were also dirty. The bathroom door was broken so the only way to get this to stay closed was to lock it. I’m not sure anyone really even cleaned the room maybe just made the bed. We were booked into a superior double on the first floor as it was all that was left at the time and I’m not sure what we really paid extra for as the room was extremely noisy the next morning with people coming and going, the door doesn’t even reach to the bottom of the floor which probably doesn’t help the noise problem and the window lets in a serious draft. Parts of the carpet were also worn into holes. I think the rooms are in serious need of a refurb as under the sink in the bathroom just looks like a mess. The room itself was spacious and has so much potential, full length mirror & the bed was comfy but unfortunately the dirt out ways any of the good and for the price you really expect it to at least be clean! We did go into O’Hares and spoke to a member of staff in there who agreed that no room should be sitting like that and after seeing the room agreed it wasn’t up to scratch, he said himself the rooms are expensive and he wouldn’t have slept in the bed or used the shower. He apologised and did seem annoyed that the room was sitting in this state, he was able to get the bed sheets changed but unfortunately there was still stains on the pillows and duvet cover, he did check up with us and see if we were any happier to which we let him know there was still stains but obviously there isn’t much more he could do, he did apologise a good number of times and we understand it wasn’t his fault. Would avoid at all costs if you want a clean place to stay, this is the furthest thing from a Boutique accommodation I’ve ever stayed in. We also had no option but to stay as the two nights previous we were staying in glamping pods near Newcastle and had booked an extra night here just to extend the stay in Newcastle since it was Easter, before checking in I had had a couple of west coast coolers and my boyfriend had a couple of magners (not drunk or tipsy but not legal to drive) The pictures also don’t show the full extent of the dirt but it was bad and I’m not fussy I don’t see one hair on a bed sheet and th

Despite the poor reviews we were pleasantly surprised with our accommodation. The Haven is located at the far end of the promenade past the car park. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean. We had a very large bed which was very comfortable. There was no fridge but that wasn't an issue for us as we only stayed for one night. Overall we had a good experience.

I won this nights stay in a charity reaffirm and was really looking forward to staying on Saturday 10th jun 2023. It’s advertised as a boutique hotel with views of mourne mountains, with soundproof rooms, I can assure you the rooms are not soundproof, views of mourne mountains can only be seen if standing up looking through a high window you certainly can’t see them any other way. The bed was clean but carpet has all different stains everywhere, the bathroom was clean although a toilet tool had obviously fell down the toilet then lifted out put on toilet roll holder to dry out hardly behaviour you wud find in so called boutique hotel, no breakfast available was ano disappointment. Then the music started in the pub next door and felt like it was in our room which was ground floor at the back corner couldn’t sleep with the music and cars screeching tyres for hours, I have never stayed in a worse hotel which is £130-£150 per room per night the advert is misleading people and anybody that experiences wat we did would never stay here again for free never mind pay that price, oh and just remembered there are damp marks on the walls which has been painted over all in all a complete nightmare

Overpriced run down rooms very poor standard. Staff got rooms mixed up upon arrival took ages sort out. Same staff run the guest house and run the bar at the same time. Would not recommend nor return.

Overpriced and not good value. no Breakfast and 160 euros for 2 people for one night, Close to a very noisy car park, the rooms are old, dank, dreary, damp, the bathroom was freezing cold with mould throughout, the smell of wood smoke was almost choking when you opened a window in the bedroom which was stifling hot!!! the total opposite of the cold bathroom in which the towel warmer/ radiator was broken and leaking onto the tiles, avoid like the plague.

Stayed in Newcastle after hiking Slieve Donard with two other couples and me on my own and the best thing I can say about the guesthouse is that it's the closest to the carpark, other than that it's Overpriced and over rated is what I'd say about the Haven, collected the keys in the bar next door and after some confusion with rooms and keys swapped we all had a few beers before going into the guesthouse. First thing that struck my was its old and dated smelled a bit like an old house and felt like one and definitely wasn't boutique, I think the owner is confusing it or trying to employ some marketing spin. my room was clean shower had some mould but overall wasn't too bad but my friends showers were either boiling or freezing. The wardrobe is more like a press with no door and be aware the boy racers like to show off in the carpark to the rear and the single glazing windows aren't great at keeping the noise out. Price wise at £140 it's daylight robbery and that was for me on my own and no breakfast is available. If I'm ever up that way again I'll look for better value I didn't make the booking one of my friends did as I normally check out the trip advisor reviews and looking at most of them they all reflect my feeling about the Haven.
