We often visit Naussa, Bahamas from cruising and take a taxis to this property to get their cigars. Only on our 7th time we realize how close to the port the hotel/ establishment is… less than 15 min walk! The taxis are a rip off and take you on a long route that makes it look far from the port. The tours/ cruise lines make it seem like the property is far. It’s a safe walk minus the narrow sidewalks so keep that in mind when walking: Just walk pass senior frogs, stay left and go straight. Use maps if needed. I will attached photo. The hotel is gorgeous in therms of old English luxury which transport you back to that era. The hotel I agree with other reviewer is a bit tired and can use more care but still stunning non the less! Worth a visit. The staff is friendly with that signature Caribbean hospitality! Especially staff Major, he was charismatic and all things wonderful about being greeted making you feel at home, he clearly hold the Greycliff close to his heart by how proud and full of love spoke about it. The joy on his face just talking and showing us a bit of the property was enough to sell us on a land visit for next time to the Bahamas! Thank you for taking time and can’t wait to stay here. Honorable mentions of staff also: Maurice and Elec whom was friendly and welcoming as well! I may be forgetting a 4th gentleman. Sorry. The lady at the desk was a bit uppity but warmed up to us because of Major. Overall great experience and can’t wait to visit. Thank you Major for taking time to show us the beautiful Graycliff.

I cannot comment on the hotel as I did not stay overnight. We booked a day pass while on a cruise. It was expensive. As to the pass itself, service was practically nonexistent except for the gentleman who assisted me in getting to the pool due to mobility issues, Mr. Cool, and then later 2 gentlemen who assisted in helping us finally get our lunch and a taxi, Smith and Lavado. The pool was dirty and disgusting and filled with bugs. The food itself was not appetizing. And forget getting water promptly or even a drink. This facility has no business selling day passes and any company that does so should reexamine its policies.

Don't waste your time and money visiting this terrible excuse for a hotel. We have visited the Bahamas several times in the past 4 years. We were looking for something different to do, and after reading online reviews we chose a visit to this hotel. Arrived after an expensive taxi ride, to be told there were no staff to serve us. This was a Tuesday afternoon, well after lunch time, and the temperatures were dropping off, so no reason to close up facilities due to the heat. The 'reception' guy was a mature fellow, and half asleep, telling me that no staff could be available to serve us. This is meant to be a 'go to' venue for tourists and boasts great service and a unique experience. Yes it was unique, in so much as it was one of the worst experiences I have ever had in a hotel, especially one that is supposed to offer great service!!! I would not recommend a visit, not just because of my experience, but the website is terrible, and clearly the place cannot be bothered to 'go the extra mile' for paying customers. The place looked and smelled old! Don't waste your money visiting here.

Don’t waste your money with this hotel. Booked a room for the last night we were in Nassau. When we arrived at the property we were denied access by staff due to a nearby fire. I told the staff member we had a room booked and he said no one was being allowed on the property. We then booked a room at another hotel and called the hotel to request a refund. An incredibly rude woman from the hotel denied the refund and then lied about staff keeping us from coming onto the property. Spend your money elsewhere. These people are thieves.

My husband and I dined at Graycliff last night. The building and decor are stunning. The gentleman host was very stern (a bit like a scary librarian). The rest of the staff was charming and lovely. I ordered the “ bits of lobster tail with cream sauce” as an appetizer and was very disappointed that the lobster was so chewy and tough that I literally could not even cut it with my knife. The flavors were good though. Then my snapper came. Cooked in plastic, honestly I thought it said parchment. I would never eat anything that had been heated up or cooked in plastic! Again the fish was so overcooked, dry and chewy. Also cooked in peppers and onions which it did not say on the menu and had I known I would have ordered some else. It was a massive disappointment. I was also told I should tour the wine cellar but they acted annoyed when I asked about seeing it. To be fair, they were very busy.

Be wary of this hotel. We decided to stay here as I was fascinated by its history, and we didn't want to stay in one of the resorts - however what was once likely a lovely old property has fallen in to neglect. There are some definite highlights from our stay - Dimitri at the front was wonderful, helpful, incredibly kind & friendly. The tour of the wine cellar was interesting; and the large pool was gorgeous although the other pool was dirty & the gardens around the area were unkempt and overgrown. There was never any staff at the pool, and the dressing rooms were dirty. The "luxury" room we were in was very spacious, but in desperate need of a deep clean and modernisation, the soft furnishings were fading and had not been updated in quite some time, the room smelled musty and my husband sneezed every time he walked in. The "jacuzzi" bath was a deathtrap, a gorgeous marble top around it made it impossible to get in / out of without straddling it & hoping not to slip. There was grouting missing, & the plug was impossible to put in the bath as it had so much limescale; same with the shower head - this was all in need of modernisation. There was the renmants of a wasp nest on the shutter, which I tried to open so we could get some fresh air. The towels were thin & small. We had to walk through the parking lot to get to our room as the gardens were closed and there was construction, which felt weird and disconnected from any charm of the main house. Breakfast was awful, consisting of a hard as rock croissant and other pastries - despite the misleading "breakfast included", it wasn't really accurate however the gentleman serving us was lovely and although they didn't know what a flat white was, they made a very good one! We didn't bother having breakfast the other days we were there. We arrived the night of the Junkanoo, and as we came home at 1:30am, there was a very drunken woman having a very loud conversation with her friend in the courtyard; I also had to go outside to ask the gentleman getting ready on the patio to stop yelling to his friends, there was also another guest who loudly spoke to his phone in the dining room at breakfast, at the pool and in the bar when he was having a drink. There was one lady who checked us in who was friendly, but overall the reception desk team were not particularly helpful or friendly. I appreciate that it's an older property, however some love and upkeep would go a very long way to restoring some of the elegance. Overall not what you'd expect for $500+ night.

We returned again this year for our second visit and we just love it! We can’t wait to return next year! Small, elegant, sophisticated and understated. With an absolutely wonderful staff that provides such personal service. It is quiet and peaceful, but only a few steps away from the Straw Market and the downtown. It’s a great place to come back to relax, and the pool is just stunning.

THE place to be in Nassau, an absolute highlight! A beautiful museum to live in with great people, beautiful surroundings, a fantastic restaurant and one of the most spectacular wine cellars in the WORLD (I‘m not joking, I‘ve seen some of them). Not to forget, an evening at the cigar lounge with Pam at the piano is entertainment at it‘s best. We enjoyed every moment and felt at home from checking in till checking out. Highly recommended!

Rudest staff I have ever encountered. Needs updating. Save your money and go somewhere else. I don't know how this place is staying open, especially with Atlantis down the road! You will pay maximal dollar for a sub-par experience here.
