The place was everything I had hoped for, simple, friendly, good food, helpful staff. Perfect place to arrive to and spend a few days in Nairobi, whether for business or sightseeing.

Khweza is always a good start for travellers who want to get in touch with Kenya: a cozy place with good food, a quaint rooftop restaurant with yummy food and a lot of extra services. Simple rooms, a bit of backpacking atmosphere. We were there twice and always felt at hone - definitely a come back place in walking distance to the CBD. Make sure, you‘ll be nice with the staff. They‘re extraordinary. Thank you Peris, Frances, Julius, Alice, Eunice and the rest of the team

We only stayed one night as we had a 24 hour layover in Nairobi before flying back to the UK. The hotel is well located and a 10 minute walk to Nairobi CBD. The rooms are basic and clean and what you would expect for the price. The shower wasn't great, but functional and adequate for a night or two. The roof bar and restuarant is a great place to have a beer or a tasty meal. The staff are amazing. They will go out of their way to make your stay a pleasant one. We were leaving at 6am for our flight so we were to miss breakfast, but the staff member Danny insisted on making us a light breakfast of fruits, toast and coffee at 5:30am so we didn't go to the airport on empty stomachs. I would definitely stay again for a night or two.

Khweza is a popular budget B&B, close to the Nairobi city centre. The accommodation is in four story building with an open central atrium. There is no elevator. Rooms are very basic and small, but have ensuites and hot shower. Staff are friendly and helpful, especially in the rooftop bar. Breakfast is ordered the night before and is quite substantial considering it is free. It is served at the rooftop terrace restaurant and bar. Dinners are inexpensive and popular. There are a s number of eateries nearby, including the Swahili cafe a five minute walk along Ngara Rd.  Ngara Road is quite grungy and unattractive.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Khweza! Friendly and hospitable staff, delicious food, central location, secure, safe, clean, and property harbors a “homey” feel. Great value. Beds are comfy. Key provided for room. I was able to easily set up a three day Safari through Peris. Safely transported to and from airport via Fred. Fred also showed my around NBO. Khweza will surely be my lodge commendation for my next trip to NBO. Special thanks to the staff and friends of Khweza… Peris, Fred, Ester, Dan, Collins, Ester, Anita, Pena, Mapesa, Francis, Junior, Tony, didn’t catch name of second male cook but he was very nice! Until next time, Ty

Khweza is a great budget hotel in Nairobi's city center. Staff are super friendly and helpful. One staff even used their own Mpesa to get us train tickets since we didn't have access. Really great. The rooftop is wonderful & a huge selling point. Bed and shower was good. Everything was clean. Food was okay, took a bit long to serve even when you order breakfast the night before. Lobby is welcoming. We stayed for six days and went on a 3-day safari, day trips, etc. and all our stuff stayed safe. Had we slept there the whole time, we probably would have switched rooms from the front to the back, as the front rooms are a bit loud at night with trucks going by. But otherwise, very good. We'd go back if we were again looking for a clean, friendly budget stay in Nairobi.

I really enjoyed the stay here! Staff was nice and friendly. Rooms were clean. Shower was working. Food was nice and the location was ok. As some of the other reviewers felt unsecure regarding the area: i never felt unsafe over there. I was even walking alone there after dark (not at late night ... walking around after 8pm is generally not a good idea in Nairobi) and the locals in the surrounding were all nice, talkative helpfull and friendly. Nobody tried to rip me off or scam me.
Response from Property: Thank you for this review! We are happy that you enjoyed your stay at Khweza B&B and we look forward to hosting you again.

I stayed here for a couple of days and did 2 weeks safari with some awesome guides to the Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru and Naivasha, Amboseli, Tsavo West and East. At last I did 2 days to discover Nairobi and went to the Kendrick Elephant Orphanage and Giraffe Centre. Unfortunately I had to return home. The stay at Khweza was relaxed, the rooms are very clean and the food is well prepared. The staff is friendly and taking care of the guests. Peris thank you for guiding me this 2 weeks. I love the people living in Kenya and of course your staff including the safari guys. We had a lot of fun. Tell Brayo; elephants don't hurt :-) Once again thank you all for this amazing trip!

I was in a group of 20 people who stayed at Khweza in june. The rooms were clean and the rooftop restaurant and bar great to gather at. The staff, the staff ... hardly a word to describe how nice, helpful and accommodating every single member of staff was. We were so please with the place that we asked them to host a lunch for us, for 30 people. They did, the food was very good and every detail very well attended to. If I am every in Nairobi again, I will come back.

My boyfriend and I have been in Kenya in the beginning of June22 for 2 1/2 weeks and booked Khwza Bed&Breakfast for our first nights in Nairobi. The hostel itself is not in the best condition anymore but it definitely has its own vibe. The rooftop terrace is pretty cool, we had our breakfast almost every morning up there. Breakfast (eggs in different variations, pancakes, beans, toast, fruits etc.) was very decent as well. Running water was always available except for once when they had run out of water and it took them from morning - afternoon to fill up the tanks. Hot water was sometimes accessible, not very often tho. We also ended up booking our safari tour with Junior who works at the reception of the hostel. He took us on an amazing 3 days trip to the National Park Masai Mara. We’ve seen so many beautiful animals thanks to Junior. He was determined and relentless in finding the animals for us, which is not an easy task as the park is massive. But through experience and passion, Junior made it all possible and we can only say, if you’re looking for a guide, who also feels like a friend, at least for us, then he is your guy. The camp is really cute and our “tent” was very very spacious, I did not know what to expect, but it was definitely not this. Kenya has been an extraordinary host and we can definitely recommend Khwze. Apart from those things mentioned above it is a cool place to stay :)

I stayed here just before Christmas and it was amazing, and especially the tour we did with Junior (Rhino) into the Masai Mara. Other the three days he managed to get us closer than anyone else to the Big 5 and more, and we even saw a hunt / kill up close (Cheetah and a young Wildebeest), and so much more (4 Cheetahs feasting on a kill, a Jaguar in a tree with its prey), all so close up. He also took us out in the evenings, and was great fun and a source of every kind of information. It´s no exaggeration to say that he was responsible for making the trip so incredibly special. The Khweza B and B was also a great find, its an oasis of peace in Nairobi and all the staff were so friendly and welcoming. I will be back.

I travelled solo in Kenya for two+ months with multiple stops in Nairobi in between adventures outside of the city. Every time I came back I wanted to come back to my Khweza. I must have stayed here at least 7 times for 2-5 nights at a time. The rooms are simple and nice and basically all you need for budget travelling. The included breakfast was always really nice and they offered cleaning service for my clothes for a fair price. But the MAIN thing is the lovely staff who were always helpful, always smiling and so much joy and good vibes. So I knew I could always have a good time only by having conversations with the wonderful staff. There also were many young energetic travellers coming and going + fun Nairobi locals I met who came there for a dinner or the bar. The location is good for experience of real Nairobi and very easy to get ubers from the front door. The price is very good in my opinium for the room + breakfast so I highly recommend this place for adventure travellers and would always come here if travelling to Nairobi again!
