I had a wonderful time in Intercity hotel bawshar!
It is located within a 3 mins drive to the newest mall in Oman - Mall of Oman. The hotel offers a shuttle to bring you to Mall of Oman at specific times. You can ring them to arrange for a pick up back to the hotel when you are done shopping and dining!
It's near the airport and all the main tourist attractions. The hotel is new, bed is super comfy and the housekeeper Perera and the staff in the restaurant like Aamir make you feel absolutely at home.
It's a small hotel but it has a gym and a pool with one restaurant.
Would strongly recommend this hotel!

Hotel looks nice on the outside but you’ll see lots of thing waiting for you. When we arrived in the hotel we see that the people who are working at reception were nice but doesn’t give the basic information about the hotel unless you ask lots of questions. Nothing was explained. Then we switched to our room by ourselves and found out there was a bottle of water which already had been used. Thankfully the Bellboy helped us and solved the problem, we appreciate him. He is the guy who saves receptions lack of information and lack of interest. After relaxing a little we decided to have some air at the restaurant area which is the only place that has open area. But no one cares what you asked or even doesn’t bother coming and asking you as if you’d like to have something. And that’s our first 30 minutes unfortunately. We booked for 3 nights and we’ll see what’s going to happen next. Maybe it’s just our experience.

A new and trendy looking hotel in Muscat with a Great beautiful swimming pool. Conveniently located to the stunning Royal Opera House and Boulevard shopping/dining mall. Rooms and large and spacious with balconies and terraces. Staff is friendly and provide excellent service. Hotel has good selection of restaurants (steakhouse, excellent Chinese restaurant). The only drawback is lack of private beach, especially for those who prefer to swim in the sea.
Meticulously designed for comfort and convenience, our hotel's 250 charming guest rooms and suites have been uniquely appointed to reflect both local and art deco influences. Amazing time spent at the Ritz. Feeling like royalty as you step in as it was previously the Sultan’s palace. After a day of adventuring you feel as you’ve entered a haven of peace. The staff was helpful, elegant, and really trying to satisfy every need. They also have one of the best Chinese gastronomic restaurants I have tasted. My favorite amenities were available as they are supplied by Diptyque. Last but not least the location takes your breath away, from the poolside and beachside.

Jumeirah in Oman must be the most satisfying hotel I have ever stayed in so far. The whole family is full of praises. It's rare to give a hotel full marks in terms of hardware, service, and environment. It's truly impeccable. The staff are very welcoming and responsive. The room is very clean and tidy. Everything is wonderful.
The hotel is located next to a natural rock and beach, surrounded by mountains and seas. Under the bright sun, nature integrates the hotel into a natural scenery. When entering the room, I was amazed by the sea view in front of me. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows, the natural interest is used as a visual extension of the indoor space, bringing the aura of nature into the indoor atmosphere.
You won't feel monotonous when you stay here without leaving home. You can go to the hotel swimming pool and beach at any time, order a drink on the lounge chair and enjoy sunbathing, or take a dip in the sea, which is comfortable and comfortable.

Lluke_middlebrookStaying at the Shangri La Al Husn Muscat has been one of the highlights of our time in the Middle East.
We decided to go for my girlfriends birthday and the team worked exceptionally well with me to deliver a unforgettable experience.
Getting to the Shangri La was a bit of a challenge and taxis do not come cheap in Oman. Though it was not challenging I do wish there was a pickup/drop off option for the guests.
The inclusive breakfast was wonderful and ordering off the menu assured that everything you ordered stayed fresh. There was a mixup with our order due to a language barrier but the food was still phenomenal.
The in room breakfast and room service was a highlight as it allowed you to take full advantage of the room and with the inbuilt heaters in the dining table assured the food stayed hot. The value for money on in room dining was disappointing as an order of a burger and fries came with a small amount of fries, however that was fixed with our next order.
The afternoon tea was delicious, highlights being the fromage and watermelon and the scones. Each afternoon tea was different and kept the palate excited.
The happy hour beverages were also included and always came with a suprise canapé from the restaurant.
In terms of the staycation, it was perfect. The interior and exterior of the hotel is beautiful and the sound of the ocean left you relaxed for the stay.
I would like to raise that there was a lot of sealife by the beach which deterred us from swimming in the sea as we had heard a lot about the Omani coast and didn’t have much confidence in the beach patrol and lifeguards there. We noticed some playing on their phones but they were always happy to assist taking a picture for the two of us. I would suggest a more upfront approach when it comes to what you can expect in the sea there.
A visitors lounge was also available allowing you to take full opportunity of the facilities till you left for your next adventure.
GGuest UserRecently stayed at the Grand Millennium in Muscat, Oman. Having driven from Dubai, on arrival there was no valet parking but the Porter was instantly present to take care of the luggage which was efficiently dispatched to my room. Mr Ashraf at check-in was exemplary and continued to be so for my 14 day stay. I had initially booked a club room and Arhab, the chief steward in the Club Lounge, was very helpful and delivered excellent service. The Grand Millennium has a roof-top pool with fantastic views over Muscat City to the Gulf of Oman on the horizon. There is also a poolside bar (where Amy the bartender gently delivers fresh, cooling watermelon to your sun lounger) and an impressive roof-top tennis court. Mr Wilson the friendly Spa Manager can arrange swimming lessons and tennis coaching. Whilst I didn’t take advantage of the lessons, I did use the gym, the jacuzzi and the steam room/sauna on the ground floor where I was warmly greeted regularly by the effervescent and kind personality that is Safiya who would also present me with a complimentary bottle of water for my workout. The room itself is a good size. The bathroom has a separate bath and a walk-in rain shower. Housekeeping is attentive and efficient, both Mohammed A & Mohammed I were very helpful. The breakfast buffet requires some attention, it was lacking in content and not very inspiring. The breakfast service itself was also equally uninspiring. In this mediocre environment two individuals that stood out were Sultan and the lady chef, both were excellent and on point. The hotel links directly via a short indoor walkway into the Muscat Grand Mall where there is a food court with an array of international food outlets and a number of coffee shops and cafes. There is also a Carrefour supermarket in the mall which sells ready to eat hot food and snacks. The Al Rifai nuts concession in the Grand Mall is worth checking out. Oman Avenues Mall and a LuLu Hypermarket are within a short walk. The LuLu also serves ready to eat hot food/snacks. If you have your own transport the local drive-in cafe/fast food establishments are pretty good and deliver a hot cup of Karak Chai directly to your car. Overall I enjoyed my stay and I would stay at this hotel again.
AAnonymous UserA beautiful and comfortable hotel on the shore with excellent service, comfortable rooms and picturesque views. The hotel's restaurants and breakfast are of a high standard. The hotel provides a shuttle to the malls and Mutrah Souq. The staff is very friendly and also assists in organizing tours. The location is a little far from the center, as well as malls and attractions, but is excellent for a quiet and comfortable stay.
GGuest UserIt was terrible experience I had on this property (citadine al ghubrah muscat) I was traveling almost 24hours for holiday vacation, I selected this hotel to stay since near by the aiport, unfortunately I chosen the wrong hotel, upon check- in the lady receptionist asking me a full payment for the stay, I have no enough cash omr. But I have $ dollars with me, the total cost of my stay is only omr. 22 I have 15 omr and the rest 7 omr. I will pay by dollars, I informed the lady receptionist that I will pay the rest with $ dollars, she said that the hotel will not accept $ dollars, I was explained to her that I just came from the aiport and I was so tired shall I pay the rest by evening I have to exchange my dollars outside, or my cousin will come by evening and pay the rest of the amount cost of only omr. 7 or else I will quarantine my id or passport to keep , I will exchange the dollars outside by evening , but she refused me to check in, now I realize the discrimination /criticism,I decided to walk out and check in to other hotel, thank God other hotel very considerate not even asking the deposit even id's qurrantee, will I hope other guest will not experience the same treatment that I had experience , you have to improve your hospitality and service, especially front office staffs, never ever to booked this hotel anymore, many hotel choices in Muscat. Thank you and have a good day!
AAnonymous UserI loved my stay at the Sheraton Oman. The staff were wonderful- they bent over backwards to help us.
I had a couple minor issues with my room, and they came as soon as I informed them, and were fixed immediately. One of the housekeepers picked up the robe I’d been using when they were cleaning and when I asked for a replacement they brought 2 more! They were happy to bring me extra nespresso pods and milk a couple times too.
The restaurant staff were so attentive and helpful- Tharindu, Pravda and Khalid and the chef, Krishna- they brought us out coffees and juices at breakfast and made sure I had everything I needed. They allowed my friend and I to eat off the a la carte menu at dinner instead of the iftar menu, since the other hotel restaurants were closed for Ramadan; and when we said we had to leave early at 5am for our flight they packed a lovely to-go box with pastries, fruit, coffee, juice and eggs.
I personally really appreciated that the gym was open 24 hours so I could work out before breakfast, and the equipment was pretty good for a hotel gym!
My only note for other travelers would be that the hotel is a little far from some of the touristy sights of Muscat. Also, there aren’t many alternative food options around the hotel. But the hotel itself has lots of great options so for us it worked out absolutely fine.
GGuest UserI stayed for three or four nights. The hotel is a little remote and, in May, the outside temperature too high however I slept well, I liked the Belgian and Thai restaurants and enjoyed the gym. As ever, people matter more than places. I was cheered by Jennifer’s friendly greeting at breakfast, Jay was prompt to resolve my urge for chocolate and, above all I must praise Khaled who calmly helped with what was, for me, a printing crisis.
GGuest UserHotel is nice. It is close to the airport - about 10-15 min by taxi. The rooftop was open 24/7 so we used the sitting area to drink tea and talk with the friends in the evening - amazing experience. The pool is also in the roof, though has not so much space near the pool to sit. Overall nice experience. Breakfast was fine and had all the things you expect at 3 star hotel.
MMINORUI recently stayed at the Muscat International Hotel and had a great experience. The service was excellent, with the staff being friendly and helpful. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, and the location was convenient.
I didn't have the opportunity to try the food, but there are some restaurants near by hotel.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Muscat International Hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable place to stay in Muscat.
Mmohannad-mdThumbs up: * location: KM hypermarket, Hardeez, KFC, plenty of other restaurants, laundry, barbershop,... all with-in a short walking distance. * parkings: plenty of public packings in front of the hotel. * breakfast: was decent enough. Thumb down: * staff: horrible reception, extremely inattentive. I kept calling to confirm before I reached, they do not answer! At the check-in: no information s at all. Calling from the room, guess what! no answer! At checkout, I asked for a bellhop, waited half an hour, no one came! Went down and took the trolley myself, receptionist did not care!
GGuest UserThe hotel is 7 or 8 minutes walk from Qurum Beach, convenient to see the sea view, but there is no large business super nearby, restaurant. I am a girl, traveling alone, and the stay experience at this hotel is very poor. First of all, the taxi at the entrance of the hotel is the hotel's internal car team. The slaughter of passengers is serious and unreasonable. I took it once. The original fare of 5 rias was charged 10 rias. Finally, I took a more detour. When getting off the bus, the Arab driver shouted at me for 2 more riya, quite rude. When I left, I had to take a taxi to the airport and stopped a taxi at the door, but the uncle of the hotel taxi team called the other taxis and forced my luggage to his own trunk, not saying that they had to take the same price. I was angry, but they were unreasonable, and they argued with each other. I called the manager of the hotel, and the manager looked at it and then stood by! Secondly, during my stay, I was knocked on the door by a local drunk man in the next room. I later learned that this hotel has a bar, and the local wind is not good. I did see some local young ladies in and out of the evening dressed in cool clothes. . . The above wrote his own experience, hope to provide reference for the countrymen.
