Hotel Chikura

The sea is right in front of us, you can see it from the bath in our room, and we could eat dinner in our room, so we were very satisfied with the price. The building is old and there were signs of aging in many places, but there was a large public bath, so we think it was worth more than the price.

Very beautiful, cost-effective

I stayed at Hotel Chikura in Chiba Prefecture, looking for a hotel with an ocean view and where I could smoke. The exterior and interior are the epitome of the Showa era! Although old, the rooms and hot springs were well-cleaned and clean, there was no cigarette smell, and the ocean was right in front of me with a great view. And above all, the in-room dinner was good value for money at this price, which was one of the deciding factors. The sashimi boat platter was delicious and very good. However, the food was not brought to me one by one, but was all laid out at once and introduced all at once. The breakfast was good, with dried horse mackerel grilled with solid fuel at the venue and rice prepared in a rice container, but I was guided to a seat by the window in the breakfast venue, but there was a large window and it was hot and sweaty in the sunlight 😵 The air conditioning didn't work, so I left early. The hot springs had an excellent view, which was great, but... I was concerned about the fact that it was completely visible from the promenade in front. The hotel has a convenience store, but they don't have juice or alcoholic drinks, only a few souvenirs. There are no vending machines for alcoholic drinks, so I contacted the hotel in advance and they said, "Please buy it at the convenience store and bring it in." However, the refrigerator in the room only contains drinks that can be removed, so it's a problem that there is no space to put them in. Only the freezer space is free. I also contacted the hotel in advance to tell them that I would be going by public transportation, and took a taxi to buy alcohol at the convenience store, and on the way back, the hotel had a shuttle, so I thought I would ask for a taxi when I checked out, but they refused because there was no driver. I wish they would at least confirm the return shuttle during my stay. The beach is a one-minute walk from the hotel, and there is a shower to wash off the sand, so it might be a good place to play in the sea. This hotel is suitable for families. I recommend going without any expectations for this price.
