We were made very welcome at Hotel See-Villa from from the outset. Claudia in reception was always on hand to advise and was always friendly, very helpful and good fun too! Whilst there isn't a lift, and our room was on the second floor, the owner very graciously carried our bags to our room. He spent a considerable time explaining about the hotel facilities and its history. It was built as a hotel in 1894 by his great grandfather and is still a family owned and run hotel: and it shows by the attention to service etc. Our room was spacious, beautifully appointed and had a little balcony overlooking the lake. We could not have hoped for better. The dining room is brand new and quite exceptional and the food is exceptional. My wife and I are not big eaters and so we chose from the ala carte menu which suited us perfectly. Being situated on its own lake-side garden it facilitated meals on the terrace, swimming in a clear lake, access to SUPs, saunas and changing rooms in the boat house, which made it a perfectly contained location for us. Less than perfect: - no English menu, which made it a little embarrassing having to ask for a translation every dinner time, because we do not speak German. That said, almost every one of the staff spoke perfect English and were gracious, helpful and kind whilst helping us. - an English leaflet in the room, explaining the workings of the hotel, surrounding area etc would have been really helpful A really lovely 6 night stay and we would really love to return one day as we love Austria, its people and found, in Hotel See-Villa, the almost perfect place to stay. Thank you to the staff for our stay.
