The property was beautiful, and the service and staff were extraordinary. I’ve never experienced service as good as my time there. I was there for a business trip, and I was blown away. Every member of the team went out of their way for the guests.

This hotel has an amazing 12,000 acre property with tons of great activities and an absolutely superb staff. Our room was spacious and very comfortable with nice amenities. Hikes were varied, extremely well marked and beautiful. Pond fishing and fly fishing was a real treat with true experts as our guides who had everything perfectly set up for us and helped us have very successful fishing outings (we caught tons of fish!). Food was excellent throughout - great variety and extremely high quality ingredients and preparation. Best of all, the service was incredible throughout our stay. Every person at the resort and outdoor activity center was extremely warm, helpful, prompt and really made us feel like VIPs at all times. I had never heard of Meadow of Dan, VA before this visit, and will definitely return.

We came to Primland to celebrate our anniversary, and we're treated with kindness from an organized and knowledgeable staff. They were aware of our schedules, helped us get around, and consistently made recommendations to heighten our experience. Our stay lasted four nights, but the vast array of activities meant we always had something to look forward to. We opted to try the clay shooting course, and although we were complete beginners, our guide made the experience fun and competitive. We also hiked trails on the property grounds, enjoyed the wine tasting experience with the resort's friendly sommelier, and relaxed at the pool and spa facilities which were full of high-quality amenities. The dinners at the resort restaurant, Leatherflower, were delicious each night, and the more casual bar and in-room dining options made meals extremely convenient. We brought our elderly pet with us as well, and the staff treated him like a fellow guest, offering him treats and comforts throughout--we were extremely impressed and grateful for this simple detail. We are very likely to return to Primland in the future, and wholeheartedly recommend the property to family, friends, and any prospective guests.

My wife and I spent 2 nights in a Pinnacle cottage room in March. My last visit to Primland was 15 years ago, long before many of the current amenities were in place. I had read some reviews that were critical of the food, staff service, etc. and questioning the value of the stay. Our short trip was exceptional from top to bottom - check in, our lodging, food and service were all great. We spent most of our time using the inlcuded amenities - pool, spa, tennis and hiking. The property is in incredible shape and very well maintained. I was a little concerned about the quality of the food, but it was top notch. We had breakfast and one dinner at the Leatherflower. And one lunch and dinner at the Laurel Bar. Both locations provided really good food, and we found the service to be exceptional. OUr room at the Pinnacle cottage exceeded our expectations - very clean, updated, comfortable and the housekeeping staff was incredible. The views from the Pinnacle cottage was hard to beat. If the resort offers what you think you'd enjoy, I would highly recommend. We will definitely be back.

The sense of arrival is unparallelled as you drive up the mountain and the Lodge is an amazing rustic hideaway in nature. The resort team is warm, friendly, and welcoming. Dining at Leatherflower was amazing! The observatory is amazing and the peace and quiet and natural beauty are a wonderful way to refresh and unwind. Perfect for a romantic getaway!

My husband and I loved our time at Primland. Absolutely gorgeous location with stunning accommodations, excellent food, and a relaxing atmosphere. All of the staff we encountered were welcoming and helpful. A wonderful destination for couples, families or friends.

This place is a gem. From the facility to services offered and most importantly every team member. You won't regret. Activities were a blast too. Clay shooting and RTV trails were thrilling. Everyone is so friendly and eager to please. Every interaction felt genuine.

Husband and I came for a weekend baby moon. Starting with the good: service was great from the bartenders to wait staff and event coordinator. Hotel is absolutely beautiful and so much to do! The bad, the room: The room was a little bit run down, shower door rubber was completely falling off and kept having to reattach it. Woke up around 3am to a noise we couldn’t figure out. After turning the lights on we saw a mouse in the bathroom that started running all over our room. Called the front desk and was told by Kristin that there wasn’t maintenance around but she could call them, but wasn’t sure what else to do. My husband ended up having to kill it (gross) so it would stop running around the room. Our room was also located above the kitchen/restaurant. We ended up packing our bags and checking out around 4:30am since the mouse incident. Note that there is not 24 hour valet or someone working the gates so we had to get our car, and then got stuck trying to exit the north gate. When we checked out we were told that someone from management would be giving us a call about the mouse situation but haven’t heard anything yet. Definitely expect better conditions for the cost of the hotel, and the fact that I have never seen a mouse in hotels that aren’t 5 stars like this. I will say outside of the room situation we did enjoy our stay, but probably wouldn’t return.
