The location of their private beach is the best in my opinion it’s so clean. The service of the hotel is too strict. I ran into problems because of the bracelet thing. One of my family members got her deers erased by being in the beach and she was stopped and asked to go to the reception to check if she was a guest at the hotel but we told the security to look at our bracelets and they were from the hotel and my grandmas was also fading yet he didn’t believe us so we had to go to the reception. It was time wasted that we had to deal with just for them to be yes they are guests. And then it happened again because the first time they didn’t change our bracelets when they should’ve have done that in the first place.

A good place to take children but it is not quiet. A good place for large parties and partying in general. Restaurants were excellent

We enjoyed our time at the hotel. We liked the fact that there are many pools, and more than half of them are warmed. For a stay in March it's a must to stay at a hotel with heated pools. We did the all inclusive package, and we feel like the hotel does not provide enough open times to get a bite to eat throughout the day, but during the times that they want you to eat there are many restaurant options available. The area surrounding the hotel is ideal with many shopping options, and restaurants if you choose to eat off the property. An ideal option if it's cheaper would be to bypass the all inclusive option and eat at the surrounding restaurants.

I traveled with a total of 8 people and we all had only great things to say about this place. Very clean and all the staff we encountered were very friendly. Multiple options for food. If loud music is not for you, this hotel is not for you. 2 of the 8 guests were under 4 years old but the loud music was not an issue for them. Beach access was great and very close to the malecón. Beer on tap options were Indio and Tecate light. I felt no need to make a reservation at the restaurants on site because the buffet options were plenty. Already booked my next stay in a few months.

The hotel is not 5 starts, maybe a 3. Kind of disappointing. Check in was a nightmare. The hotel is very dated. I should have researched more before booking the stay. The only nice thing about it is the beach access.

Pros: Beach access; Dining and Cabana staff were thorough. Walkable to shopping and local establishments; MAZATLAN letters too; Great options for food on and off property. Taxi, red truck, and Pulmonia options just out the front door. Felt safe; great sunsets and great weather; Mexican Show with traditional state dances, songs, and mariachi band were fabulous. Cons--Towel Thieves (we were charges 250 pesos per towel) since we did not have the towel cards to return at check out; Volume of Beach bands (sometimes 5 were playing at a time) starting after lunch until after sunset; Vendors allowed on the resort side of the rope barrier to peddler their wares; beggars allowed on the resort side of the rope barrier to ask for money; beds had plastic liners under sheets that made noise everytime you rolled over

The Hotel Playa Mazatlan was very clean, very comfortable and the staff were beyond helpful. My issue and the reason I will never go back there and not recommend the hotel to anyone was the noise. Bands made up of trumpets, trombones, tubas and worst of all base drums played constantly right in front of the hotel. Four people would pay the band to play and hundreds of hotel guest had to listen to it constantly. A couple of times we had three bands playing different songs on the beach right in front of the hotel at the same time. Never again!

We really enjoyed our 2 week stay at the hotel Playa Mazatlan…but the bands on the beach were another story. On a couple of daily occasions, we counted 11 different bands. Every single day from approximately 12:15pm - 10:30pm they played non stop. Most days, at times, there were 2-3 bands all at the same time, all playing different songs, within 100’ of each other & only 30’ from us. We couldn’t even have a conversation or hear the ocean or the birds all afternoon & into the evening. Most nights the lovely supper entertainment was drown out by all their playing as well. The noise level was horrible & inescapable, from lunchtime til we retired in the evening. That was our only disappointment.

I loved the atmosphere of the hotel. You can get the Banda at the beach, buy snacks, souvenirs and staff is really friendly. My only suggestion is improving food quality at the snack bar.

Nice location with shops and restaurants in walking distance. Expect noice from the beach with banda music all day. Nice clean rooms, good beds, great service from the hotel staff. The restaurant staff could be asking more often if something is needed.

Excellent resort, right on the ocean, lots of shops and dining options within walking distance. Rooms were large and very clean, we will definitely be back!

We have nothing but great things to say about this place we are very happy with our stay. everything was beyond exceptional

Ultra helpful staff especially to non-Spanish speaking guests. Very safe. There’s always a way to get where you need to go. The buffet breakfast incredible.
