Hotels near Adakaya Shrine, Matsue

I stayed at this Dormy hotel in April 2019, and chose it again for a two-night stay because it'd worked out well, and again, I wasn't disappointed. I think I may have even been in the same room! The quarters were plain and compact, and with no view to speak of, but well-designed and equipped, especially for working on the laptop - great desk space, easily accessible power sockets and good wi-fi. I loved having the amplifier, something most hotels don't include. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom had a mini tv (and welcoming duck), with a larger one in the bedroom. The complimentary inclusions were appreciated - for example, ramen in the evenings, bath salts (bonus), and peach jelly in the fridge. The reasonably-priced breakfast was good, and featured perfect tempura! The hotel is near the JR station and a 10 minute walk to Lake Shinji, 15-20 to the castle. Staff were efficient with tasks such as forwarding luggage. Overall, excellent value!

The room is old, but the cospa is good considering that there is a hot spring including breakfast. You can barely see Lake Shinji from the room. The location is also within walking distance of both Matsue Castle and Lake Shinji. The parking lot is free and they will send you to the station in the morning. The only elderly male staff at the front desk is unfriendly and does not reply easily. Well, it's a hotel of this level, so it can't be helped if you think of it as a clerical staff, but it's a pity that other staff are doing their best. I think it's good just to sleep for sightseeing and business.

It was unusual for me to take off my shoes before entering, but I was glad that it was clean. It felt especially good indoors. All breakfasts were delicious and satisfying. In particular, I would like to thank you for preparing the tempura in front of me. And with a smile. The good thing about the massage device in front of the bath. We stayed at the New Urban Hotel for 2 weeks in October while my husband was in Matsue for business. It is a lovely hotel in an excellent location in the city. I can’t say enough positive comments about the staff, and especially would like to mention Keiko Ueda. She goes above and beyond in making guests feel welcome and she is so helpful. Her English is very good and she repeatedly asked for feedback, did we need anything, was there anything in particular we wanted or wanted to do. All of the other staff are just as helpful, albeit many don’t speak English…however with the help of Google Translate, we had no difficulty. In staying there for 2 weeks, we were a familiar face and we’re always greeted warmly whenever we were in the lobby area. The location is excellent, about a 10 minute walk to Matsue Castle, about 15 minute walk to the Kyomise shopping district, and about 25 minute walk to the JR Matsue Transit Station, which has a wonderful Visitors Center with English speaking staff.. The hotel is directly across from Lake Shinji, and our room faced the lake providing lovely views. There is a walking path along the lake that is very nice and it is a short walk to Sunset Park to view the famous sunsets. Since my husband was working during the days, I was on my own to explore. I never felt uncomfortable or unsafe walking around this beautiful city. The city’s population is about 200K, and Matsue is known for still being “authentic Japan.” There is an on-site onsen at the hotel, which is very nice. There are separate baths for males and females and the hours are quite convenient. The lobby of the hotel has a section of travel amenities that are free to quests. Additionally, the hotel stocks a number of other items for borrowing that you might need, such as iron and ironing board. There is a laundry facility and a convenience store attached to the hotel. My only negative comment would be that the on-site buffet at the restaurant is the same for breakfast, lunch and dinner. But there are many wonderful restaurants in Matsue if you need more variety. If your travels find you going to Matsue, consider staying at the New Urban Hotel, you won’t be disappointed with the everything the hotel offers as well as the location.

We also used the restaurant to celebrate my daughter's birthday and also ate at the restaurant. This was my first visit to the building since it was renovated, and the view is outstanding, with Lake Shinji right in front of the hotel. In the morning, from your room window, you can see more than a dozen small boats catching freshwater clams, a specialty of Lake Shinji. I stayed as a previous night for visiting Adachi Museum of art. It is about 3 minutes walk from Adachi Museum of art. The accommodation fee is a bit high, but the satisfaction is high. The meal was also served with a crowded hand that utilized local ingredients. Hospitality was good. After checking out, please leave your luggage during the visit to Adachi Museum of art. If you ask, I sent you by the inn transfer bus to the mountaineering entrance of Tsukiyama Tomita Jo castle. In addition, because the rental bath is booked after arriving at the inn, if you do not check in early, you will enter the free early person win without reservation after 22 o'clock. It is not a walking distance from the nearest Yasugi station where the limited Express stops. It takes a little 3000 yen for a taxi. There is a transfer bus for the museum from the station. If you tell the inn name, you can put it in front of the museum for free. However, the last flight in the evening is quite early time zone. I took the last flight. Let's check it on the homepage in advance. There is no convenience store by the inn. Shopping at the convenience store is a little walk from Yasugi station. It is a souvenir shop in front of the museum, and you can buy a little food and drink including alcohol. However, it closes to the closing time of the museum. If the transfer bus to the inn is the last flight, let's shop without going to the inn. The inn store was about the extent that souvenirs were lined up in the corridor next to the front desk. The vending machine was a conscience price.

Get off at Tamazou Onsen Station and walk for 15-20 minutes. It should be the hotel closest to the tram station on Onsen Street. There are no supermarkets or places to eat nearby. The hotel izakaya will open after 8pm. It is recommended that the convenience store prepare some food in advance. You can take a taxi when you get off the bus. The journey is not expensive. The hotel’s free shuttle bus is in the morning, between the tram station and the hotel. The hotel is a bit old. The breakfast is quite substantial.

I think it's probably once in a lifetime to drive to Shimane Prefecture. In a 1200 kilometer journey, I stayed two nights with Kobe and Hiroshima and entered Shimane. First of all, the employee's response was at home, and I felt the warmth that was not too much. As you know, Gunma Prefecture has stayed many times in the hot spring kingdom of Kusatsu, Ikaho, Mizukami, and Shiman, but I felt that the hospitality of Matsunoyu was exceptional. The quality of the spring was light and similar to that of Shiman Onsen. I stayed for two nights, but what was overwhelming was the deliciousness and number of items for dinner, the number of items that I couldn't compete with in the hot springs of Gunma, and the deliciousness of the breakfast buffet. I had some trouble with the parking lot, but the good reception at the front desk made me feel at ease. Anyway, it is an inn that made me satisfied with Ku 々. It is an inn that I want to ask again if possible.

I made a reservation because it is a new hotel with a large communal bath. A few minutes walk from the station, the building is beautiful in a convenient location. It is said that the large communal bath that I was looking forward to can be used until 1 pm, but when I went to 12 pm, water was flowing into the bathtub and it became quite lukewarm. I told the front desk that it was a circulation type, so I'm sorry. I went to bed after warming my body in the sauna. It's a little disappointing that there is a sauna but no water bath.
