Riad Dia is an absolute fantastic hostel! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Mustapha is a staff with the biggest heart. We all love him. The breakfast was well really good! The location is perfect, situated in the heart of Marrakesh with easy access to all the city has to offer. The rooms were clean and cozy, providing a peaceful retreat after a day of exploring. I especially loved the communal areas, perfect for meeting fellow travelers and sharing stories. Overall, Riad Dia Marrakesh exceeded all my expectation should and I can’t wait to return!

I recommend this place for short stays, I think it's a good place for people who just need a place to spend the night. Despite some small issues the staff is friendly and it has a good value for money. The Riad is located in the city center near the Medina, the Souk and the Mosque are within walking distance. The breakfast is included in the rate and it's great (eggs, bread, Moroccan tea, coffee, pancakes, and other delicious foods). The bathroom has some problems with the doors, there aren't enough bathrooms for all the guests but it's clean. The bedroom was a little dusty, I think it could be cleaner, but the place offers clean bed sheets, towels and blankets. It's comfortable but they don't have a locker with a key, however I didn't have any problems and I felt safe all the time. Overall I had a good stay.

The pictures and decor are very outdated, as the hostel is in need of a major facelift. One of the main attractions for me was the rooftop terrace, but this space was very under-utilized, poorly maintained and dirty. There are many fixes to be done (faucets, doorknobs, shower/bathroom doors). The bathrooms and common areas would need more frequent and more thorough cleaning. The pool in the middle needs a good chlorine shock, since it is only 3ft deep, but has very murky/milky water. Our 12-bed dorm room was right next to the common bathroom, however, the wall between the two is not actually a wall, but rather a thin room divider, so we could hear absolutely everything in the bathroom (especially the 4 beds stuck to that side). Also, the room was so small and cramped that the bunk beds had to be glued together, so much so that some of the ladders to the top bunks were inaccessible. But don't let that fool you into thinking they won't fully book all 12 beds. There were also no wall plugs available in the room. With so many budget and hostel options all within the same price range, I would recommend to look into other hostels around. The only pros from our experience here was the ideal location, the working A/C and strong Wifi connection.

A really lovely spot just off the medina. Very beautiful location with a traditional feel. Big breakfast in the morning is included and there are a good amount of facilities. Plus its one of the only places I’ve stayed with decent wifi! When I was there the pool was not filled sadly but other than that it was a brilliant experience.

I'll start by saying that I stayed 5 nights, am a 46 y/o solo traveller and have never used a hostel before. I needed a mini adventure (mid life crisis? lol) so for the price, this seemed a good idea. Negatives: I stayed in a room which was meant to have capacity for 4, it had 8 beds (4x bunks) and although never full, it did have 6 people in there one night. It had non working air con (but there was a window). It's very rough around the edges with light fittings badly installed, wonky light switches, non locking doors, taps on sinks being really loose or just a bolt and generally a bit... 'grubby'. Loo roll was a precious commodity. The breakfast consisted of a microwaved egg on a plate, a reheated pancake, a crumpet type bread thing(?) and depending on the day a small pancake and a small cake/bun or pastry with a bit of butter and honey. Also served with mint tea or (oddly menthol?) coffee. The pool apparently hasn't been filled and used for quite some time. Noisy. The guys running the place like to play pretty loud music through the day and into the evening (but will turn it down if you ask) and it's right beside a mosque so a couple of nights were very loud - but kinda cool and very very friendly. Positives: Great location! Cheap The guys running the place were really friendly, although I over estimated my French speaking skills so communication was fairly basic... I don't really understand the five star reviews? Maybe they're from people with more hostel experience than me? I'd say it was fine for a couple of nights but after that the lacking facilities started to grate a bit. I wouldn't say the place was dirty as there were ladies mopping and scrubbing all through the day - the showers were being well used... A couple of nights is 3 stars, by the 5th night I was wanting out. I'd happily return for a shorter period of time however. The place was very chilled, I had the misfortune of a night with 'a-hole' roommates one night with a couple of American girls drinking vodka and being obnoxious allll night. Top tips - bring your own loo roll and bring a small padlock as there is a safe but it's often not locked and when it is, they have a habit of leaving the key in the lock. There are some individual lockboxes though. I felt very insecure about leaving my passport and main wallet with bank cards etc and keys in the place and equally about taking them out with me. Final note: the reception is staffed 24/7 but the phone doesn't seem to be... I needed to get out early one morning and nobody was around because he'd fallen asleep on a bench in the dark and never heard me and I didn't want to be louder so as to wake up everyone in the place - check benches if the place seems empty!

We stayed there with a group of 20 people and right up front: I would never stay here again or recommend this place to anyone. It is your average hostel but super run down, stuffy with rooms that are entirely too small and offer no air circulation at all because most don't have any windows. So if you want air you have to leave your door open to the common room areas. Well you might just have to because you can't lock your doors anyways. Some doors provide a hinge for a lock and some you can't lock at all. Keep that in mind especially when staying here in summer when temperatures are quite hot. The place is not clean at all! That goes for rooms as well as showers/toilets. I know this is a budget place you shouldn't expect
