Hotels near Point Reyes Lighthouse, Marin County

San Rafael! The perfect suburban/nature city to visit in California. It’s located in Marin County and is about a 40 min drive from San Francisco. San Rafael is the perfect city to explore (especially Civic Center or Downtown) or to make a pit stop if you are heading towards Sonoma/Napa County to do some wine tasting. If you do decide to stay in San Rafael, you should book your next stay at Fourpoints by Sheraton hotel! I got the pleasure in staying at the Four points by Sheraton hotel.When I first walked into the lobby, the staff Pesty and John were able to take care of me right away. They were Very nice a friendly at the front desk as I was checking into the hotel. They even are offering free cookies to guest at the hotel as well so that was a plus. After I was all checked in, I was able to be on the 4th floor which is the highest floor at the hotel. I got to stay in the modern Deluxe Guest room- 1 king bed During my stay. When I walked in my room the room was modern, casual room that was clean and all prepared for. The bathroom was also modern and clean as well with everything working. The most beautiful part about this room was the view. I can’t tell you how beautiful my view from my room was. It was so gorgeous that it looked like a million dollar view. You can see the beautiful pool patio including the palm trees and see the astonishing mountains of San Rafael . I highly reccomend staying at the fourth floor if you can facing the pool because you get to wake up in the morning to that incredible million dollar view. That is a major plus in my opinion. I wanted to highlight the pool patio at the hotel because I think it’s such as gorgeous area to look and be in. When you walk outside, there are a bunch of seating area where people can hangout and just relax. At night, what is so special about that area is there is a fire pit are where you can get yourself warm after a long day. The pool in general is a nice large pool with a hot tub and Four Points by Sheraton is known to have the largest pool patio in Marin County. People can just relax at the pool or go for a swim as well. Overall, this area has to be the nicest area at this hotel. Overall, if you are looking for a nice place to stay in San Rafael, I highly recommend staying here at Four Points by Sheraton. The views, the staff, the scenery, the cleanliness of the hotel was on point. If I’m ever in San Rafael again which is a huge yes, I would stay here agaian and you guys should book your stay at Four Points as well. Very nice hotel, quiet, large room with coffee machine and microwave, Starbucks coffee and black tea delivered daily, there is a fountain park next to all birds, and the lobby is being renovated when checked in, and it's beautifully packed. Breakfast was average and not enough to eat. After eating breakfast every day, I took two loaves of bread and went out to feed the seagulls. A lot of birds were waiting. After going out for a 2 minute drive and crossing the bridge, Macy's Department Store has a lot of food. Safeway supermarket is next to it. Things are cheap and fruits are cheap. Find white cashiers can borrow membership cards. It is much cheaper. Black cashiers generally ignore you. There is a parking lot at any time. The gas station at the intersection of the Sheraton Hotel opposite is the cheapest in San Francisco. It is highly recommended.

Very good. The staff is very enthusiastic. The room is very clean. The breakfast is relatively simple but has a variety of options. Ctrip's room is next to the restaurant. It is a little noisy in the morning. If you mind, you can confirm the room location in advance.

Really nicely designed hotel and very good value. A short walk to the downtown breweries and restaurants. Overall a nice stay

I loved this hotel. The staff were always around cleaning something and they seemed genuinely pleasant. And while the whole place could use a fresh coat of paint, everything was clean and smelled clean. We were there for a wedding event and most of the party stayed at the Sheraton Hotel. We chose Quality Inn because I just couldn't stomach the idea of paying so much money that the Sheraton wanted. But because most of the party was there, we spent most of our time at the Sheraton. Here are some differences: S=$$$ Q=$$. S=Not clean (the cushions in the dining room and carpets were HORRIBLE Q=Very clean, S=Staff was okay but no smiles Q=Accommodating (one member even saw that I was having a hard time making a bow for my gift and she offered to do it for me-had the wire and everything as she used to work in a florist shop) and they were all smiling. S=No breakfast-not even free coffee on the tables and/or lobby Q=FREE (wonderful) continental breakfast.

It's right inside the airport, and all aspects are good, but it's a double room but only one set of bath towels is placed, and there is no free parking lot, parking is quite expensive, 246 pesos a day.

A last-minute getaway as the friends we had planned to stay with came down with Covid and we had to make a decision about where to stay. We are Marriott Bonvoy members and rarely ever stay at Sheratons, but thought we'd give this a go. Sigh. Not quite up to Marriott standards I'm afraid.... We got a king suite with a balcony that was supposed to be a marina view, but looked out over the adjacent ”marsh” and freeway/railroad track. Here's the good: very comfortable bed, bathtub (most hotels are ripping these out and replacing with walk-in showers - I love a real tub), short drive to downtown Petaluma which is cute with upcoming restaurants, coffee houses and quirky shops, staff friendly; the location is easy access off 101 and good for a base to explore Sonoma County. The not-so-good: the hotel lobby is freezing cold so not a place we could hang out, the fire was never lit the whole weekend; it's so cold that the staff behind the check-in desk had their own space heaters on the counter blasting hot air at themselves to stay warm! The pool is tiny, the photos of this place make it look more like a resort, but it's really a hotel bolted on to the end of a mall/offices as part of the marina development. You can't walk into downtown - it's a hike along very busy roads with industrial office buildings. The new train line (yay - public transport!) is just across the river adjacent to the freeway and is noisy as you'd expect. We walked into the marsh and around the nature loop - it was OK...nothing special, really - didn't see much in the way of birdlife. I imagine it gets stinky in the summer! In general, the hotel could do with a solid refurb - it feels dated. I think we would have actually been better off at the Courtyard TBH.

We loved everything about our stay. Starting with the warm greeting, the fabulous service, the amazing accommodations and the incredible views. We can’t wait to come back for another visit. If you need to recharge your batteries I highly recommend this location.
