The hotel was as expected, staff helpful. However the usb hubs in the room didn’t function and there was no indication that they didn’t so having arrived late evening with a busy three days work ahead, I then woke up to a Flat phone and iPad. Reception then told me, on my enquiry that only the refurbished rooms had functioning sockets but plugs were available in the shop area. At £17 each I was unimpressed as I had no time to get down to the shops and get some charge going before my working day. Small things can cause unnecessary anxiety to solo female travellers and no phone is at the top of the list. So hence my poor rating. Food also was expensive and very average, go elsewhere.

Visit here often for work. The location is fantastic and the staff are always helpful and nice. The staff that work the Starbucks cafe in the lobby Ali, and Goitom always great me with a warm hello and go above and beyond.

Do not stay here! I stayed for one night and thank goodness it was. Initially the service upon arrival was good and pleasant (hence two stars not one). However it went downhill from there. There was hair left in the bathroom and on the towels and the doors hadn’t been washed down and were dirty with fingerprints. The shower had been retrofitted to a bath so wasn’t high enough to get underneath due to being limited by the length of the shower hose which had been installed. Kitchen was good, however, and the window opened a touch to let fresh air in. However, there had been an issue with my bill and I was woken up at quarter past 10 at night (2215) by reception ringing to tell me this. When I said this was poor customer service this was brushed off and no goodwill offered. A note under the door would have been enough if they realised at that time. I was travelling for work and had an early meeting to log in for. I would not stay again. Very expensive for what I got.

Sanctum Maida Vale is a limited service apartment hotel in Kilburn Park. It doesn't have restaurant, yet there are over a dozen within 2-3 blocks. Many are excellent, and many deliver. They don't put a mint on your pillow at night , yet there are many fluffy pillows and extra towels. Way more than my wife knew what to do with. There are many mass transit options within 3 blocks. (Underground, Overground and Busses) Access to most of London is quick and easy. You have a Starbucks, Tesco (Small Grocery/open late), Library within 1/2 a block. You have M&S Food, Boots/Pharmacy within about 2 blocks. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean in an excellent neighborhood. I have stayed here multiple times and my family always looks forward to returning here.

The booking and check-in was very smooth. The lobby is impressive with a 24-hour front desk service. We checked in late in the night and were very impressed with the generously size 3 bedroom apartment with four full bathrooms. Our family of four became six after two nights and five for the next few days. In the last four days we were only four people in this huge apartment. All was going well until the day… Our grandson came back from London Zoo with face paint which we later decided to remove before he went to bed. We used one of the towels (wetting it) and got the paint out. Agreed that 1/20th of the towel was stained which is typical but having done that several times back home, we knew it needed just one wash for the colour to get off the towels. My husband got a call a few hours later on the apartment phone, from one of the reception staff by the name of Mr. Krzysztof, telling him that there was blood on the towel and it was ruined. Several points to make here- when you assume something or go on heresay you always give the other accused party a chance to respond. My husband told him it was face paint but Mr. Krzysztof stood his ground also ignoring the black paint that was with the red paint (spider man theme ). Secondly, he did not ask how the guest was if he had seen “so much blood”. He could not be bothered and said we had to compensate for the towel! I went downstairs a little while later and had a conversation with him in a stern tone but never raising my voice. He refused to believe me so I asked to speak with the manager. He called the manager and told him that I was screaming in the lobby. The second staff at the front desk is proof to the fact that I did not raise my voice. Viola! The manager voiced the same words as Mr. Krzysztof and said it was blood! All based on what was told to them by housekeeping who did not speak a word of English. I told him that this was a insignificant cost to the company if at all the towel was ruined and he said it was not as they were “a small company” and could not absorb the cost. I didn’t know that there were many meanings to the term “small company”. It also meant that you had to go to front desk to get extra sheets, you are given only seven towels as that is the number of maximum guests allowed in the apartment of that size and no more (they actually made me go and check how many towels and hand towels I had and report back to them so they could decide if I could have more) and also, all the toiletries are just a starter kit as per the manager. You have to then use your own and nothing is replenished. There was one day that two towels were not replaced in one of the bathrooms and they refused to believe me that the towels were not replaced. What is it with these towels! The conversation ended with me asking them to wash the towel and see the outcome. A wet towel came back to me a little while later, with tiny smears of red still on them. I washed it in the apartment , completely back to its sh

This time I came to London and stayed at the Magnificent, the Fragmented Shangri-La, the Horse Guards and the Bulgari. The rooms in this 1,500-pound hotel had no highlights at all. I really felt like I was paying an IQ tax! Moreover, the air conditioner was very noisy, there was dust on the table, and even the pens had no refills. Several others have their own characteristics. Bulgari is not recommended.

Very good, it is a first-class hotel from a global perspective. The overall experience is not in the category of luxury resort, but more like a top business hotel. Adhere to the traditional peninsula layout, which comes from the business travel style of the golden age of 80/90s. Those who like it will like it very much.

Amazing experience What really seperated this hotel from others I have stayed at is the staff and level of attention they provided. Their concierge are on point! I highly recommend this property and if you do decide to stay make sure you connect with Mark the concierge as he treats every guest as an ultra VIP

GGuest UserBe careful of being unknowingly charged with a ‘discussionary charge of tips’ (supposed to be A Conpulsory charge of tips, don’t be fool by the name, it is non-discussionary) AFTER CHECKING OUT of the hotel. I was being charged with a discussionary charge of the tips on the credit card automatically without being informed upfront after I checked out and left the hotel.
When I checked out, i was informed at the counter that they were closing their account for previous day and they would help me check out my room and email me the invoice of my stay after they finished closing account. As a result, I innocently left the hotel since I thought a 5-star hotel would not have anything gone wrong. However, I was totally wrong until I saw extra charges on my credit card while not receiving any so called invoice from the hotel at all. I then reached out to Trip.com to request for the invoice that they have promised to send to me and it was then I was informed that the extra charges were from a discussionary charge of tips. I wasn’t happy about the way this was done hence I requested for a refund for this since it clearly stated this is a DISCUSSIONARY fee, not a compulsory fee. However, I was informed that this is a Non-refundable fee and my request was denied.
Out of so many hotels I have stayed, it is unbelievable that in a 5-Star hotel, I was forced to pay something that wasn’t even being informed upfront. In addition, with the fee name suggested, it is a discussionary charge of tips NOT a compulsory charge of tips, the hotel has forced the customers to pay it as COMPULSORY CHARGE OF TIPS.
In addition, the hotel services were very inefficient and lot of rooms for improve. We ordered for an in-room meal and we were told that it would take about half an hour to deliver. Hence we waited, and until an hour later, there was no update on our meal and we had to make a call again to check for the progress of our meal. It was then we knew there was a delay in the meal. By the time we done with our meal, we made the call again to request for someone to collect the plates, we literally waited for more than an hour and had to call twice before someone came to pick up the plates.
This shouldn’t have been the service received in a 5-star hotel and the worst of all, the hotel should have more transparency in their charges and should have informed the customers on the charges upfront before the actual charging. When we signed for the amount paid for the meal, there were no statement on the discussionary charge of tips at all, and we didn’t expect there would be as we were not even informed.
It is not that we are unwilling to give the tips and we did give the tips during the stay. However, it made us very uncomfortable that we weren’t informed anything upfront and it was charged to my credit card AFTER we CHECKED OUT of THE HOTEL. It made us feeling very unsafe to provide the credit card to the hotel as they can charge whatever charges they want after checking out the hotel. In addition, it is a discussionary charge, isn’t it should be discussed before I was being charged? If not it should be called a a compulsory charge of tips.
HHelenI was lucky enough to be able to check in early at midday and make extra use of the spa facilities, which was great. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel was extremely clean. Breakfast was fantastic - one of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had. Great location for attending events at the O2, especially with the covered walk way to the arena, direct from the hotel. The pool area of the spa is nice but looking slightly tired in places (one of the sets of steps into the pool was broken) and my room was well equipped (with an amazing river view from the 14th floor) but a little characterless. But over all it was very good. I'd stay again!
GGuest UserStay was great until I found out they took money from my bank for breakfast I didn’t take. I stated at check-in I didn’t want breakfast as I was at work early the following day.
I called the hotel for a refund, only to be told I need to send an email to the manager and they would check the cctv to ensure I didn’t attend breakfast.
GGuest UserStayed at the hotel for one night. The room was very spacious and perfect for us. The bed was extremely comfy.
Staff were very friendly and helpful- bar setting was lovely too
Definitely going to book this hotel again!
GGuest UserJust leaving Holiday Inn Sutton and have had a truly wonderful stay. This hotel was used as a base for exploring London and surrounding areas and can't recommend highly enough. Ok we're not talking 5 star luxury, but if you're looking for that common sense should tell you to book elsewhere. However if you're looking for CLEAN (so important) and comfort with EXCELLENT staff then this will be for you! Staff are honestly some of the best I've encountered (even in 5 star hotels) and I don't say that lightly. Restaurant, front desk, housekeeping, health club all an absolute credit to the hotel and brand. Thank you. Nothing was to much trouble and you made our stay really great. It's the morning and evening acknowledements and friendly vibe and all the little touches that really do go a long way. We'll be back and would highly recommend this hotel and if there's a way to reward staff on duty 27th-29th August 2022 please do :)
WWilliamConveniently located right next to long term parking and connected by Heathrow Pod to Terminal 5. Bed is surprisingly comfy. Room is small but that’s not too much of an issue for a transit hotel.
Staff can appear emotionless but that’s also understandable - customers are mostly transient in nature so why would the staff invest any emotion in them?
GGuest UserMy friends and my family stayed in The Royal National Hotel from 5th Aug. To 11th Aug.Due to some detail problems related to the hotel booking, several times I went to the reception to ask for help. Every time, they were very nice and helpful. Especial thanks to receptionist Jannai, he understood my requests very quickly and helped me to solve it very patiently. It’s a very nice experience to stay in the hotel, nice people, nice breakfast and convenient to many sightseeing places in London.
GGuest UserWe stayed 3 nights here, first night the rooms were wrong, after going to reception the ignorant woman behind reception was no help. Her male colleague changed the rooms on day 2. All 4 rooms were dumps, not fit for 1 star. Our room in the basement was directly above the tube line, you could hear it travelling every few minutes. Health and safety doesn't exist here. Breakfast is basic, no hot food and the milk was sour and stored in a flask. Everywhere except reception is filthy. The bar was closed for 2 of the 3 days we spent here as the barman did not turn up for work and nobody else was authorised to open the bar including the manager. 10 pounds charge to store your luggage while you wait to get checked in!!! While passing through reception at various times we heard at least 6 people complaining about the rooms they had been allocated. Nothing matches the photos online. Windows unlockable, safes not working, corroded tap in the ”newly refurbished bathroom”, showers blocked. Well over priced for what it is. This place is not a hotel!! Unfortunately 0 stars is not an option.
GGuest UserI actually really liked the stay here. Simple, classy, hub hotel room. Amazing central London location. Steps away from tube station, we visited tourist sites in the area. Great for our city weekend break. The beds are superbly comfortable. I travelled solo ALOT for work, so I know what I like or not about hotel rooms. On this occasion I was traveling with my 3 kids, and the absence of TV meant they slept undistracted. The absence of carpeted floors, decorative pillows and bed runners, (that I suspect are rarely washed in other hotels) was perfect, as it means I didn't have to make sure my kids weren't touching any unclean fabric items. We were out for majority of our stay. So the lack of view/windows, wasn't any concern. No breakfast option, but we grabbed fruit for breakfast from Tesco express nearby. There is a 24hour cafe & bar next door, that is good option too. If you know what you're booking and what to expect, you won't be claustrophobic, instead you'll be pleasantly surprised. Reception team member is my reason for leaving a review though - he comp'd our left luggage :) I hope if Zedwell family see this they compliment his action, because he's gained you return custom and extra revenue, as I'll now book again due to how thoughtful and personable his service was towards my family, thank you. I've misplaced where I noted his name, Sherif(?) [Tall, young, South Asian origin]. Looking forward to our next stay at Zedwell
GGuest UserDon’t know where to start. The room it self wasn’t where the reception was, turns out it’s about 100m down the road & round the corner, making the below issues not worth chasing up for a short stay. A horrible smell, Very sewage/stagnant water I would say. Which come from the bathroom sink, which hair & gunge was blocking it leaving a slight blockage. Very cramped, you couldn’t swing a cat around the room. Window latch was damaged, led to feeling insecure even being high up. Dodgy wall fittings. Inc now where to hold the shower head on the wall. Crap little kettle that was broken & burnt my partners hand. Rusty/dusty fan. No bin! All round a pretty grim place. This said room is what my guess is one of a few which is not advertised in the photos when viewing/booking.
