Baumaniere is a very beautiful resort. In fact, my family had stayed there in 1975, so we were very excited to return (and took over 8 rooms at the older part of the hotel). My 33 year old son ended up getting food poisoning (not from the two restaurants at Baumaniere, but from a local bistro), and had to stay in bed for a day and a half. I tried to order broth for him (chicken soup, or any kind of suitable broth), and 3 times called reception to no avail. Excuses were that the restaurants were closed, or that it was not possible, or no one returned our calls. We were sufficiently alarmed about my son's health to inquire at reception about seeing a doctor, and again, we were rebuffed and told that physicians were not permitted on the premises. We were also told that ginger ale or something comparable was not available as well. Frankly, we were shocked by the staff's unkind, unhelpful, and insensitive responses. In short, Baumaniere is not a place to stay if G-d forbid, you become ill.
