Hotels near Durango Plaza, Las Vegas

As normal, my reviews are usually based on how a particular hotel or restaurant rates in its class, and against similar competition. In other words, a Hampton Inn isn’t to be compared to say, a Four Seasons. And on that note; Gold Coast Hotel and ****** is not to be compared to The Palazzo, Wynn or The Bellagio, all of which are located on the strip. Located just a mile west of the strip, on W Flamingo, the location is actually better than expected. One can be on the strip in a 15-20 min walk. So, though not on the strip, it’s not as bad as some of the other comparable hotel ******s. We were in town to do a show, and needed ample parking for our trucks. So staying on the strip was out either way: That leaves a few select hotels that could accommodate us; and many of these are in rather sketchy areas. GC has a huge parking area in the rear, with easy access and multiple entries. Overall, it’s probably not as large as The Orleans, but certainly a better location in my opinion. And it’s absolutely light yrs better and much safer than the “Wild Wild West Days Inn” on Tropicana(in which I’ll say in bold text, STAY AWAY!”) The GC exterior seems the same as the day it was built: in other words, old and worn…lol. However, enter inside, and you’ll notice a much improved interior to its humble beginning. The decor still leans classic, but with a touch of modern: And overall actually, quite nice. There’s plenty of gaming, and several restaurants, including a TGIF, which I did not try, and a really good Chinese joint, which I did. The lunch menu was reasonable, and the quality was actually pretty good, if you want Chinese: And they’re open till 3am. Amenities here include a swimming pool(small), and a bowling alley. Neither of which I had time to use… Sorry Rooms: The rooms here have been updated with a fresh remodel at some point recently. A new Flatscreen tv, and a modern wardrobe add to the details. Note: I was one floor from the top, which can be tricky for battling the Vegas heat, for many hotel A/C systems. However, the unit in my room was more than adequate at keeping things chilled down(That one surprised me). The bathroom has all new tile, and a small window for some ventilation(nice touch). Water pressure was really good, but temperature wasn’t easy to adjust at first; but no deal breaker. Overall, the room was clean, modern enough, and the beds was decent for this price range. The service here was surprisingly good(I’ve read this before, and in many places, from those who have stayed at many of the Boyd properties). Everyone was extra friendly, and made the extra effort to make one feel welcomed. So, while not a Four Seasons, you’ll have no worries. Wrapping it up: Overall, this is a good choice for the money; and certainly has ample parking for big rigs, motor homes or other. Spent 2 nights. Our room was not newly renovated but spacious and clean. Water was hot and great water pressure. Check in took 20 minutes as there was a line but totally understandable. Great choices for food, pool was awesome and service was great. Ate at the Voodoo and WOW, EXCEPTIONAL!! Billy was a Rockstar and delivered great service above and beyond! Will keep coming to the Rio. Great Value, close enough to the *****. A great Stay!!!

Had a great stay at the Bellagio, loved you can get the app, which you then can book car park space and get the Digital key on your phone. Saves a long queue wait at reception, pool areas really nice loads of sun beds and towels. Friendly staff around the pool areas.

Came into Las Vegas to get some R&R. I was impressed with my assigned room with Terrace and full view of Fountains.

No kettle or coffee machine at room. If you need hot water, need to to Starbucks or cafe to buy or ask for it freely if you are lucky. Very troubling. Need to call house keeping for Room clean up , staff may not automatically clean up your room if you not call them.

Really enjoyed our stay in New York New York hotel. My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights. Super clean room comfortable bed. Pool was fun and location was great. Highly recommend

The room is clean. I asked for a daily clean-up, and the room was cleaned up every day; of course, tips are expected. I booked a ***** view room. I could see the Ceaser Hotel right in front of my big window. The downside of having such a ***** view room is ”disco” noise all night long. I stayed on the 12th floor, but I was woken up by the music every night many times per night. There is no coffee pot as expected. A mini fridge is very cold, enough to keep ”drinks”. Check-in is about 30 mins on the line, the check-in procedures are quick, about 10 mins. I did not use the check-kiosk to do self-check-in. I used the self-checkout kiosk and it was quick. The location is at the center of the *****. Very convenient to get everywhere. Food and restaurants are plenty around the hotel. Please note that if you stay in any hotel on the ***** with ******, you will have to pay additional tax on top of the room rate.

Good. The breakfast was served from 6am~10am. It was convenient for us to take it easy in the morning. We had booked a room for 3 people, but there were only two bottles of water provided in the room. It can be improved when the guests ask for one more bottle of water at the front desk and the request shall be satisfied easily.
