Dee and Johnny did their utmost to make us comfortable during our stay ...dropping us off at local pub also dropping us to family wedding in local hotel and picking us up,there was 5 of us so they both did the pick up and drop off, nothing was too much trouble for them ...we stayed in the barn for 3 nights they left us with a lovely hamper of goodies .the barn was spotlessly clean comfortable with everything we needed for our stay ..gardens and views absolutely beautiful...what a wonderful find we would highly recommend and would love to return ...we also had a cooked breakfast in the Main house on one of the mornings fabulous food with lovely breads fresh produce can't recommend them enough

This is probably the best B&B I have ever stayed in. The house and gardens are fabulous and as retired Art Teachers their collection of paintings, ceramics, furniture and curios are second to none. Johnny and Deirdre go all out to make your stay memorable. An extremely comfortable bedroom with 5* bed linen, towels and an excellent easy to regulate shower. I arrived late and as I was completing the breakfast menu with Deirdre and was ordering some porridge and yoghurt when Johnny arrived back from the airport. I had asked Deirdre for a banana with my porridge and she asked Johnny if he had got any bananas in the shop. He had not and I said not to worry as it was late. However next morning when I sat down to the beautifully laid out breakfast table there was a bunch of bananas waiting for me. As well as the porridge there was orange juice, yogurt with fresh fruit, homemade breads including delicious treacle bread, great coffee and a selection of preserves to suit all tastes. As I did not have any transport Deirdre had collected me in the village and Johnny dropped me up to a local pub/restaurant on both evenings and I would walk the half mile back to the house. On the second evening after I had been in the pub about an hour I was approached by the bar tender. I was not aware but it had started to rain heavily after I arrived and Johnny had phoned to pub to tell me to phone him and he collected me when I was finished and I did not get soaked wet. Now that’s what I call going the extra mile or half mile in this case.

This is probably the best B&B I have ever stayed in. The house and gardens are fabulous and as retired art Teachers their collection of paintings, ceramics, furniture and curios are second to none. Johnny and Deirdre could not do enough to make you stay memorable. Extremely comfortable room with 5* bed linen, towels and excellent easy to regulate shower. Deirdre gives you a choice of breakfast the evening before and all dietary needs are catered for. It was late when I arrived and ordered porridge and a banana for breakfast. Johnny had come in from shopping and had forgotten to get bananas. Miraculously the following morning there was a large bunch of bananas on the beautifully laid out breakfast table. Johnny dropped me to a local pub a half mile up the road from their house and I would walk back. However about an hour later the girl tending bar approached me to tell me it had started to rain heavily since I had come in and I would not know that but Johnny had phoned them to phone him when I was ready to go back and he collected me so I did not get soaked wet. Not that’s going the extra mile or half mile in this case.

I would give this place 6 or 7 stars if I could! Johnny and Dee have gone out of their way to make ,what was just an overnight stay , into a most wonderful experience , the warmest of welcomes with tea coffee and rhubarb tart, a really comfortable room and an excellent breakfast. The arts and crafts throughout the whole property are astonishing. Sorry we could not stay longer but we will definitely be back to this beautiful house in such a tranquil setting the next time we visit Northern Ireland.

This must certainly be one of the top B & Bs anywhere. I just could not recommend it highly enough. It quite simply could not be faulted. My husband and l stayed in Ballycairn a couple of weeks ago as we were attending a wedding nearby. On arrival Dee and welcomed warmly and we were treated to delicious freshly baked raspberry cupcakes and shortbread in the sitting room. Our bedroom was immaculate and the breakfasts were quite simply delicious. All in all a delightful experience. Thank you Dee and Johnny.

We are so grateful to have chosen BallyCairn B&B for our trip to Northern Ireland. Our family room was so comfortable and welcoming. Breakfast was outstanding, freshly prepared and served with so much love by Dee and Johnny, our hosts. We have never met such caring hosts. Their attention to detail, readiness to help out and their way of making you feel comfortable at all times is hard to explain in words. It is so special to end a jam-packed day with the little treats that Johnny prepares every day! Nothing short of outstanding dear Johnny and Dee. Much love from us and the boys x

Johnny and Dee do everything to make you feel welcomed and they are passionate about showing you the best ways to explore the beautiful Antrim coast. The breakfast is delicious, the room is super clean, cozy and has a lot of surprising and useful details (make up table, round brush hair dryer etc.) We were spoiled with an afternoon tea and home made sweets. It’s also a convenient location to explore Belfast and the county of Antrim. Long story short: We would return in a heartbeat!

This self catering studio apartment next to Ballycairn House B&B was excellent. The room had a nice double bed, TV, cooker, fridge, dish washer, washing machine etc and a great walk in shower. All the utensils etc were provided and everything was top quality. The place was spotless and modern. The hosts Johnny and Dee were great and provided a hamper of food and drink. The gardens at Ballycairn are beautiful with views of the sea and hills. There is a proper Irish pub 10 mins walk away that does food and has traditional music. Other restaurants are nearby in Ballygally as is the sandy beach and a well stocked local food shop. This is a great place to stay and the perfect location to explore the Antrim glens and Causeway coast to the north and Belfast to the south. We'd certainly stay again.

Outstanding! Johnny and Dee, our hosts, were the most attentive, kind and generous people you could meet. From start to finish, they made us feel incredibly welcome, could not do enough for us and more! Their attention to detail and ability to make us feel special, particularly our mother who was spending a special birthday there in her home country, was just amazing. Extremely comfortable rooms in a really beautiful home, which for our stay, they made ours in every way. Delicious breakfast and they even made us home baked goodies during the day! I cannot recommend this place enough.....it really is a hidden jewel in the north of the green isle and we will definitely be back! Thank you Johnny and Dee! xx
