I stayed at this hotel Thanksgiving day through the weekend. I traveled to Laredo with my husband and 3 year old daughter for my cousin's wedding. When we first arrived on Thanksgiving day it was great because we had just arrived in town from a very long car drive and were able to check in to our room early and the room was spacious and clean. But after that it went downhill very quickly. The following day there was only one elevator working so had to wait a very long time for the elevator. Normally this would not be a big issue, except we had our 3 year old with us and not so easy going down several flights of stairs. Then the next day both elevators were no longer working and had to use the service elevators that were even slower. The Friday evening that we returned to our room we wanted to shower before bed but unfortunately there was no hot water at 10 pm. I called the front desk and they said they had someone coming to work on it and would credit us Hilton Honors points. Ok no big deal will just shower in the morning. Well wake up that morning and surprise still no hot water. I again called the front desk and was told that it had been fixed and just needed to let the water run for 5-10 minutes. When I called I had already left it running for 20 minutes. I let the front desk know I had been letting it run and was told I'm sorry but should be working. This was the morning of my cousin's wedding and had to take a cold shower and a very quick wash down of my 3 year old. I asked if we could leave the hotel and check in somewhere else and cancel the rest of the nights but because I had pre-paid nothing could be done. I asked to speak with a manager and was told none work on the weekends, but my name would be added to the list of of the guests for the HH points. Then afterwards never received my points and when I called and left a message for the manager never received a call back. Needless to say the stay was not enjoyable when it should have been. Definitely not what I expect from a Hilton hotel. The positive was the location was good and the breakfast convenient.

Cheryl was Absolutely amazing! Made sure everything was clean, stocked, fresh breakfast/dinner. Micheal at front desk was amazing as well. Made arrangements for the shuttle when it was requested, very kind gentleman. Juanita did the greatest room service I’ve ever seen!! Made sure the bed was always cleanly made, no dishes left in the sink, trash was always taken out, swept, moped, shower/toilet cleaned. Overall highly recommend this hotel just based off the staff.

Check-in was not pleasant after hours of driving. Our business trip turned into a last minute over night stay. When we arrived at the hotel the desk clerk did not ask us “how could I help you” or anything. Just stared at us like we were zombies. I asked was it too late to get a room or was there an extra check-in fee. He said he closed the booking at 10, however but rooms were still showing available online. He made us wait 20 minutes before he checked us in. This is the first time as a sec vice member to be treated like this. WOW!

I had an overnight stay on Friday, January 12, at this location on Santa Ursula Avenue in Laredo. Since I travel a lot and stay at many different Marriott brands all over the south central US, I felt it necessary to share my experience at this location. First off, I want to start with a couple things that are positives: the morning staff on Saturday, January 13, was extremely friendly and helpful. The kitchen staff was also very good, and my breakfast was excellent. The bed was also very comfortable in my room, and the room was very clean. Now, for some things that were not positive: When I first arrived for check-in just before 6PM on Friday, I stood at the front desk for several minutes before I was acknowledged. The young lady that was on staff walked through the back office hallway a couple of times passing the front desk, and never acknowledged me. I finally had to hail her. Upon check-in, she did not give me my free breakfast card (part of my reservation)… I had to get that from the morning staff the next day. When I asked her what side of the hotel my room was on (because I like to park near the exit door), she did not mention that that access door on the north side of this location does not work allow entry, even though there is a card scanner there. That was highly inconvenient when I tried to re-enter that north access door with luggage, then having to walk back to the front of the hotel. After traveling all day, I decided to use fitness center, but when I walked in, there was a dead roach on the floor next to the towel cabinet and the water cooler. Suffice to say that I did not work out. That dead roach was still there when I went into the fitness center 12 hours late The hot water in my room was very sporadic in the shower, and the sink in the bathroom is mislabeled; it has to be set for cold for the hot water to come out. The bath towels were threadbare at best; the gym towels looked luxurious by comparison. I have never seen such thin bath towels in any Marriott location. The electrical outlet (next to the side table by the couch) did not work when I plugged my iron in. It kept shorting out the lamp on that side table. Lastly, I requested and was granted late checkout for 2PM. However, when I got back to the room just before 1 PM, the cleaning staff had already been through my room: all the bedding was on the floor and the door was ajar. Fortunately, no one had touched the lunch I had in my fridge. I do admit to being a bit finicky when I travel, but I spend over 100 nights away from home every year (the majority in Marriott-branded locations), so my standards are extremely high. After this stay, it is my opinion that this location does not measure up to the Courtyard by Marriott standard that I have come to expect after more than a dozen years traveling throughout Texas; if this had been a multi-night stay, I would’ve cancelled the reservation after one night and gone somewhere else.

SseminolebobbyEach time I've stayed at this location, it has always been exceptional. The location is perfect for me as a business trip, and also acting as a tourist. It's obvious to me that the local management does their job very well.
You will be greeted by the best staff you could imagine they really take care of you and are extremely helpful, kind, and make you feel at home. There is a restaurant behind the front desk, a pharmacy near the elevator, and coffee bar in the entrance with snacks. The room decor gives you a grandmother house vibe with comfortable cushy beds, an immaculately clean bathroom, a microwave that actually works, and the much needed air conditioner. The best part is when you are about to leave you will bump into Ms. Lizzy, the manager, where she offers to help you with your luggage, gives you hugs, and wishes you a safe trip. It's definitely like being at your family's house. Make sure to bid the Rialto's resident cats goodbye while you're outdoors as well.
GGuest UserAfter flying in from Canada to San Antonio then driving to Laredo TX. Got here at 2 am and asked the clerk if I checked in was I going to pay for the prior night. Or would I be able to check out the next day at check out time and was told that I could. But then in the evening they called me to pay for another night. I know that hotels don’t check in till the afternoon. But I asked and the clerk was ok with that. Just saying if you agree with deal the guest asked about you should honor that deal.
GGuest UserWe checked out of a similarly priced property not so far away and headed to Red Roof. I now see some bad reviews and yet, that was not our experience. Let me go on. The wifi was really the issue and there is a huge sign as you enter that Wifi is Free (and obviously a priority for Red Roof.) We wanted a room that was convenient, so we could keep our truck loaded with shopping stuff and get an early check out to get back to Mexico the next day. The Room, #121, I think was perfect for that. We were on the back end of the property and perhaps that meant lower traffic noises. Anyway that was not an issue for us. The room was good, the desk are was a little small yet sufficient and the TV worked fine, so I got to see Monday Night Football and work on my computer, which is what I wanted. The bathroom was nice and clean and the shower was 2 notches better than the unnamed competitor that we left to come to Red Roof. I had to call back and Idalia, the GM was wonderful and honestly shared that she is new and I could tell she had a real nature to serve others. We will definitely stay there next time in Laredo. The location is perfect-especially if you want to walk to a restaurant or nearby business. It is also near the shopping and very close and convenient to the Bridge to go to Mexico. A perfect stop in case, like us, you want to get an early start for driving IN Mexico and certainly the same if going the other way, into the US further. Thanks Red Roof!
Very rude people at the front desk. Hotel is old and has no maintenance. I spent three nights and they DID NOT CLEAN THE ROOM UP in my whole stay!!! By the way, I have been charged twice in my Credit Card, so I have another issue with them. DO NOT STAY THERE!!!
GGuest UserThis property is an ideal location, central to plenty of restaurants, shopping, I-35, etc. The property features ample parking and laundry machines, and the rooms are clean and fresh. This was my first experience with Sure Stay, and even though it wasn't as nice as a typical BW, it was just fine and I'd stay again.
GGuest UserThe room was clean, and A/C and Wifi worked. Lots of good food choices within walking distance, although to get to the ones on the opposite side of the freeway, you have to walk a ways south to the underpass. It is next to I-35, but the traffic noise wasn't noticeable. There were some people yelling in the parking lot around 11 PM. I phoned the front desk about it. I don't know if they actually did anything about it, but the yelling did stop. I was pleasantly surprised that they have a free shuttle to downtown Laredo.
