GGuest UserThe Inn is adequate. The bed is comfortable. Everything was clean and well maintained. The small kitchen was clean and convenient. The WiFi is excellent. Good choices for cable TV. The furniture is not particularly comfortable. The downside and the reason we will not go back (this was our second stay in 4 years) is the rude woman at the reception desk. The Inn has a policy of deactivating your room key at 10 am on the day of check out, which they do not inform you of. We had to go back to leave a tip, turn on the dishwasher, and get the last bag. The cleaner at the far end of the balcony was not authorized to let us back in. We went to the office and a young man activated the key, no questions asked. After a couple of minutes to wrap up our exit, we went back to turn in the keys. We told a woman at the reception that it seemed rather small to deactivate the key on the top of the hour, which we had never experienced before in 50 years of travelling. She waived a paper at us and said we had signed it and therefore knew that the check out was 10 am. We asked if there is a grace period. She said there was, although nobody told us. This was the only interaction we had with staff other than the initial check in. Our experience is that this kind of authoritarian rudeness means there are other problems at the site. So we will not be returning. If you go, and you need a couple of extra minutes at check out, simply don't close your door and save yourself getting the paper waived in your face. Restaurants nearby that we liked: Fig, MRK, Hot N Chili (Indian), and the Riviera which is in the resort and we ate there twice. Definitely make the trip to Laguna Beach and eat at the Lumberyard on the main street, Forest Avenue, after you've enjoyed the beautiful shops. Make a reservation to visit the Hortense Miller house and garden in Laguna Beach for a refreshing and unique experience.
