Bed Bug Bites all over my arm and neck! I’ve stayed here many times over the years and always liked this place. It is in a great location for my job and the staff has always been great. But last week I stayed there 2 nights and woke up with bed bug bites. If you’ve had this problem before, you understand. First there’s a little itchy red spot. As the day goes on you feel more itchy spots. At the end of the day you remove your shirt and OMG! Look - this happens. My third time over the last 20 years. I know the hotel doesn’t want to have bed bugs. But when it happens the hotel should be concerned, and act quickly. Not the case here. I had to call several times over several days and no one ever called me back. So I feel it is my moral obligation to let you know.

I stayed at the Phoenix Park Hotel from June 26-28. There are three reasons why I enjoyed the stay at the Phoenix Park Hotel. The first reason is that it's super convenient since it's walking distance from the Metro and the Amtrak. The second reason is that the Dubliner is located in the Phoenix Park Hotel, which is another reason to stay in this hotel. The third reason is the rooms are very new even though the building is about 100 years old, which shows that the hotel is committed to invest in making the hotel updated for patrons to stay in.

The hotel was clean overall. Although we found a small stain on one of thethe comforters and a stand of hair on the bed. Although we felt a bit disgusted, we knew that this wasn’t a 5-star hotel and some minor inconveniences would be there. The bathrooms were very clean. We’ve stayed there twice. The first time we were given room #126 which was right next to the reception. You’ll hear tut doors open and slam shut the entire night. We didn’t get a good nights sleep. So beware of that room. The second time I specifically requested a room upstairs and it was a good decision. It was silent and peaceful and we all got a good nights sleep. So overall I would highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a decent place for a quick night cap. Keep your expectations a bit lower than a 5-star hotel. During our first stay, the staff who checked us in was ok. Wasn’t rude or anything. But wasn’t too customer friendly either. On our second stay, the lady at the front desk was super friendly and courteous. I really appreciated the fridge and microwave in our suite. Was very useful to reheat the left overs from the restaurants.

From the time Brysen handled the details of our check in until the time we checked out, our party (which had nine rooms for a weekend) was handled with thoughtfulness and care. The facility is beautiful and well kept. The location is wonderful and convenient to everything. However, the team working at the hotel made our weekend. They were gracious, welcoming and extended us every courtesy to help us to navigate a very busy weekend. Taxis to get us to the event? No problem. Room service with complicated orders? Done. Brysen even ran out to pick up an order for us when we unfortunately arrived during a time when the kitchen was closed. Literally going the extra mile. We were treated as honored guests and had a lovely time. Thanks to Lindsey for the no fuss checkout with so many details handled efficiently and politely. We will return happily to Sofitel DC on our next trip to DC.

I was there at the hotel, booking that day because my mother was at Walter Reed. The check-in young lady so compassionate and understanding. Truly outstanding customer service! The hotel is only a mile and a half from Walter Reed which made it extremely convenient to pull right in, and park downstairs in their garage and get out early in the morning. Will be using my Hyatt credit card more often. You definitely get more value for your points than Marriott.

If you are like me, I can only hope when I book a hotel that the beds and shower are good. Canopy at Pike & Rose swept me off my feet! The beds are just perfect--not too firm, not too soft. And the shower--I wanted to take it home with me. The vibe is laid back, and the decor is light wood and smooth-as-glass concrete. Our room had a sliding barn door that separated the bedroom from the bath/open closet area, and one more to separate the toilet and shower from the general sink/mirrors. Our room also had a small refrigeration drawer that worked great, LG wide screen tv, and each floor has a filtered water and ice station--glass bottle provided. Great location for restaurants, shopping, pet friendly! Will stay here again, next chance I get!

The hotel is very clean, the quality that a standard American chain hotel should have. There are small refrigerators, microwaves, and coffee makers in the rooms. Like other American hotels, they do not provide toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, combs, and slippers, but you can ask the front desk for some. The air-conditioning sound in the room is very soft. The free parking lot is huge. There is a cinema next to it, but it is not open due to the epidemic. There is also a local mall nearby, but it didn't go because of the epidemic. It is worth mentioning that the hotel provides free breakfast. The staple food is changed every day. The restaurant staff will make it for you on the spot. There are waffles with meat patties and egg yolks, as well as fruits that you can pick up and take back to your room. The overall feeling is very good.

Excellent
CcyanmmThe hotel is similar to the domestic high-end fast chain brand, the room layout is reasonable, the facilities are advanced, and the bathroom mirror is also equipped with Bluetooth speakers. Very clean and the service is very intimate. The parking fee is 8$. In fact, it was discovered that McDonald's next door, cvs should be able to park for free. But it is said that Maryland is not safe, but it is only a little closer to the hotel.
Stayed for three nights during a conference. The ”cozy” room was clean, nicely decorated, and comfortable. Everything worked, but it was quite small -- cozy for one person, but crowded for two. It . Staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant fare was ok but not memorable; the menu is limited, and it's the same for lunch and dinner. The most memorable thing about the hotel is the artwork in the hallways and galleries on the conference side. They were not just the same-old-same-old pieces ordered by the dozen by a corporate office, but rather one-of-kind, curated works from the U. Maryland holdings. It's worth taking some time to wander and view everything from 500+ year old Chinese scrolls to 1950's photography from the American South. It would be nice if, like a museum, the hotel had a guide to the art collection.
This was a good location for a game at Maryland. The location is just off the beltway and there are some restaurants and other shopping within walking distance of the hotel. There was a security car parked in front of reception and this gave a good feeling. The parking lot is free. The rooms were clean and the linens smelled fresh. Reception was friendly with information. Seemed like a good location to stay overnight and catch a game at the University.
This was a comfortable clean place to stay and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. This offset some of the downsides, particularly parking issues. The lot was full our first night, but an upper lot belonging to the University is ok to park in on weekends, as staff confirmed. The lot had plenty of spaces the next night. Our last night (upper lot NOT ok) there were 2 spaces but in such a tight spot we couldn't maneuver our long van into them next to other long vans with a retaining wall close by. Staff allowed us to park in a handicap parking spot since nothing else was available to fit. Good walkable location to many restaurants and some of the University. We were worried it might be too loud (room facing main road) but with the AC fan running on low it was fine. Please fix the pancake maker!
GGuest UserThis hotel, although, conveniently located, is on a very, very, very busy street. Very close to the University, and a lot of fun places to eat and hang out, but it comes at the cost of being in an ever so slightly “shady” area. Once inside the hotel, you forget about all of it, and the staff do an excellent job of making you feel welcome and this older property. I will agree with some of the other reviewers that it is conveniently located to the green line, but we were unprepared for all of the fees associated with parking and riding in to DC. We wish we would have reserved parking lot in town and just driven.
GGuest UserTitle copied from another reviewer who I totally agree with. Five guests ahead of me and it took 35 minutes waiting for my turn. To save your spot 1n the check-in line, you couldn't go sit on available lounge seats obviously. There were 2 check in stations but only one was in use by Michelle. Wait was so bad that I offered to come and open second service station just to get things moving. My local Autozone in Philadelphia salespeople greet every customer at the door but at no time did Michelle acknowledge guests or even attempt to explain long line to assure customers with ”I will be with you shortly” or ”apologies for the delay” or ”the storm crashed our computers” or similar. This leads me to conclude, with some accuracy that an extremely long check-in line is THE NORM at this location . . . . The hotel did have some good aspects, such as nice rooms and adequate gym facilities. However, they were totally overshadowed by the woeful first impression at check-in. Breakfast is also an EXTRA COST add-on i'e - not included in the daily room rate. At the very least, IHG should have added it as a freebie to compensate the guests for the long check-in. IHG must be unaware that most, if not all the guests are coming from a distance - such as a long drive and/or flight, COVID protocols at every stop, TSA rules, etc. By the time most people get to the hotel, the last thimg they want to deal with is another TSA or DMV-type line just to check in. TSA line is understood. DMV line also fully understandable. Long hotel check-in = unfathomable. If I were the front desk clerk I would start with: ”Welcome to Maryland, home of Chesapeake Bay. I do apologize for the long line, if you'd like to have a seat in our comfortable lounge chairs, please put your name on this list here and I will call you when it's your turn. How was your flight/drive? May I get you a chilled bottle of water?” Above will show compassion for your clients, get IHG a better review and soothe travel weary customers Unless IHG considers above outside of their capacity . . . IJS
YYIThe price is relatively high, the service and facilities are general, the location is about 15 kilometers from the White House, the morning is very simple, but compared to the price, this hotel can still choose.
