At check-in the clerk seemed a bit irritated or ready to go. I usually get great customer service when I stay here. I guess she was having a bad day.

I just returned from a 7 night stay for business. Rooms are well appointed and the beds and bedding are very comfortable. I have stayed at this hotel several times in the past year and the beds are always great. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. And there is a nice gym. I'd like to thank Breeze for her thoughtful and efficient customer service every morning at breakfast. When I left my credit card at the restaurant on my last day, she ran up 2 flights of stairs to catch me so I wouldn't leave without it. Thanks again!

This hotel was absolutely beautiful. From the stay, to the staff, the brunch, everything was top tier. The location is great, near a lot of restaurants and chill spots with good vibes. Would definitely recommend and we will definitely be returning. We've found a go to spot when staying in Norfolk.

The front desk worker was diligent about ensuring we had the rollaway bed we requested. The breakfast was nice and the worker went out of his way to find more oatmeal options for my picky kid. All in all we were very happy with the service we received.

My family and I needed a short stay in Norfolk and I found this place. When we arrived, we were greeted nicely. I needed adjoining rooms, but the hotel was booked. The lady at the front desk accommodated me very nicely and I was happy. The breakfast was good and plentiful. There was access to water, tea and coffee at all times. And we were very close to the outlets. I recommend this place.

Hilton honors member and this will probably be my first and last stay at Tru. We were only there for a night but definitely used to better. We weren’t allowed to check in 20 mins early. Receptionist said there were no clean rooms-weren’t buying it but ok whatever we waited. Then later, arrived back from an event at 12:40 and my digital key didn’t work. I guess the night receptionist was napping because I spent 15 minutes buzzing, banging, and calling the desk before she got off the sofa to let me into the hotel.

Up to the usual (low) standard I often see at an HGI. This one was last cleaned properly before COVID and the main issue is staffing. The receptionist was the rudest, most disinterested person I've had the displeasure of interacting with. The whole interaction just left me shaking my head as to how someone with such poor interpersonal skills could end up in this customer-facing position... The room itself was tired, dirty and depressing. It was a suite, but the main room was a huge space with a single sofa shoved in the corner. The bed was very worn, with a big impression in the space where 1000's of bodies have been before. The shower was a walk in that left a huge pool of water on the floor and the water took ages to run warm. Breakfast was another example of where cost-cutting is king. There was one server and one cook, and it took 30 minutes to get an omelette . I don't blame the server, she was running around like crazy, there just weren't enough staff for the volume of people at breakfast. There was also a very poor selection of fruit, yogurt etc. Just minimal effort. Overall a very disheartening stay. I won't be coming back!

When we arrived I went in to check in and there was nobody at the front desk. I stood there for 2-3 minutes before a man came from near the elevators and checked me in. He was not that friendly and said very little. Our room was ok, typical setup for this type of hotel. I still do not understand why some hotels have no vent in the bathrooms. After taking a shower it all steam and have to open the door to be able to use the mirror. There were a few signs of wear and tear mainly in the bathroom. The breakfast was decent, cold cereals, waffles, bagels, eggs and sausage. It was a quick stop for us. There are a few chain restaurants very close by. When I went to check out there nobody at the front desk and I was not going to wait for someone so I put my keys behind the desk and left.

While booking our room there was a special request area on the website, I advised them that our arrival time would be rather late. Within a few minutes I had an email from them assuring me that it would not be a problem. Very comforting response. They were very welcoming upon our arrival, our room was neat, clean and comfortable. The air conditioner was already on so our room temperature was comfortable. The bed was comfortable. The center courtyard was a pleasant place to relax. We were looking for an independent small place, and we scored on this one. We would definitely stay there again.
GGuest UserHotel staff was friendly and helpful as I had to make three different changes to how long we were going to need a room. Breakfast was standard with the notible exception of no cinnamon rolls available. The shower curtain rod needed some maintenance as the center of the rod hung down an inch or so from the edges. This caused the shower curtain to slide toward the center of the tub and causing each end of the shower curtain to pull away from the wall and allowing water to spray outside of the shower and spread all over the floor. The toilet rocked from side to side as well.
IIsupportRonPaulSo it was a quick in and out . Dropped car off at airport and just needed place with a shuttle for the morning. The two shuttle drivers were excellent. The lady who checked me in and the young guy who checked me out , both very good as well. Service was good , but the customer interaction was even better .
GGuest UserI wasn't allowed to change my reservation from 2 nights to 1 night after finding out our match schedule. We drove in early Friday morning with the intent of checking in then bc we had a room for Thursday and Friday night only to be told the room was released as a no-show (which I had sent a message through the Hilton App that we would be checking in early Friday am). So, then I had to wait to check in on Friday for Friday night until after 1:00 pm BUT I was still charged for the Thursday night room which - I was fine with bc we wanted to check in early - but that didn't happen. The hotel was not helpful at all with the situation and kind of played dumb with the whole process. I will not be keeping my Hampton Rewards for future stays. For a preferred customer rewards program - not happy with the outcome.
GGuest UserThe room was large so we were able to spread out however, there were only 3 small drawers to put our stuff in. They could put a taller/wider dresser with more drawers in for more storage options. There was a shelf over the sink in the bathroom so we had extra storage in there which was great. There was only one hook for all of our towels, not convenient when trying to dry multiple towels. Water pressure was great. Some of the staff was really nice, some seemed like we were bothering them. Breakfast staff was amazing and helpful. Breakfast was ok at best. We had to use the business center and there was a roach on the wall. I told the front desk and they didn't seem concerned about it.
GGuest UserWe checked in on May 13, 2023. Not happy at all from the start.................... First off lets start with the front desk.... 1. The front desk associate was highly rude to my family and I, upon getting to the front desk he gave us a head nod for us to proceed to the desk ( not professional at all) We did not get a hey how are you, welcome to the Sheraton none of that!!! The response that we got from the associate was” this is how I talk to everyone” If this is the case then the front desk is not where he should be working at all. However, there was a young man Tyquorie I think that is his name that works at the front desk he was very sweet when I went back to the front desk to ask for assistance. 2. We get upstairs to our room and I instantly pull back the sheets and there is hair in the beds and the mattress pads are dirty. To put the icing on the cake the corner of the mattress was disgusting... I did not want my children nor myself and girlfriend laying in that, but all the surrounding hotels were sold out and we were there celebrating my moms birthday. When I approached the housekeepers he got upset with me because I asked for clean bed linens and her response to me was ”I just cleaned the room and she was not gonna change the sheets” this made me even more upset than I already was. The housekeeping supervisor (Kenneth) he was awesome, I showed him what I was talking about and he attempted to get me straight. 3. The room had a 32 inch television that sat in the corner of the dresser 4. When we got into the room we only had 1 wash clothe ( it was 4 of us in that room) I went down too the front desk and asked for 3 towels and 4 wash clothes (at 6 pm) and we never received them. I then called at 7:30 and asked again and did not receive them, the third time I called I was told that they could not give me what i was asking for. Then at 9:30 someone knocked on our door with linens. I work at a hotel and no one should be treated like this at all!! It was really sad honestly. I most likely will be contacting corporate office about this because I know all hotels have a standard and I am pretty sure that this is not acceptable at all. I expected so much more from the Sheraton on the water in Norfolk VA!!!! The sad thing about it is that I was hoping to have a great experience. We did not at all!! Not even worth $243.00 per night
I come to this hotel often. And it NEVER disappoints. The staff is helpful and friendly. The hotel is very clean. One of the biggest reasons we continue to visit this location is Debra Berry!!!. I can't say enough wonderful things about her. Attention to detail (she remembered I use extra sheets, they were in the room waiting), kindness, and over all a big heart. I feel safe at this hotel. Even when I had an unfortunate medical event, she checked on me because she knew I was there alone with my nephew. I hold her as part of our Norfolk family. Debra needs a raise!!!. Thank you Wyndham and Mrs Debra *especially *. She truly is special. Hold on to her, and never let go.
***Do not stay here** stayed here part of a wedding party. After checking in my room it was a smell **** and cigarette smoke through out the hall way. That wasn’t the worst part. I arrived with me and my family things to the first room that smelled and had some white substance coated the windows due maybe water leak. The comforter and couch was soiled. I ask to be moved to another room. My next room smelled a lot better and looked cleaner. Most of brides wedding party and guest left the hotel that night because of the condition of the hotel. Prior to leaving for our first event of the evening there were roaches on the sink and my breaking point was a baby roach was in the middle of my bed. I could not have my children in this type of environment. Me and my family could not sleep here. I don’t write reviews but they need to do something about this. This hotel is very old and unkept.
GGuest UserAll of the staff are very helpful. If you need something they will do everything in their power to get it for you or will direct you to where you can get it. And it's an ease to reserve your room online and stay in the same room that you're in if you should add extra days.
