GGuest UserWe stayed at the Ploy Sea a couple of weeks ago for 3 nights. The hotel was fairly quiet and so they very kindly upgraded our room to a sea view. Staff were very friendly, accommodating and welcoming. In particular a lady who worked on the front desk called Ratchadaporn. She was amazing and helped us so much. The food in the restaurant was a good standard with plenty of choice and the sea front was just idillic. Looking forward to returning again soon.

GGuest Userit was a pleasant experience. The hotel boasts a welcoming ambiance, attentive staff, and comfortable accommodations that catered to my needs. Upon arrival, I was greeted warmly by the front desk staff who efficiently checked me in and provided all necessary information about the hotel amenities and nearby attractions. The lobby area exuded a modern yet cozy atmosphere, perfect for unwinding after a long day of travel. My room was well-appointed and meticulously clean, offering a peaceful retreat during my stay. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep, and the amenities provided added convenience to my stay. While the overall experience was delightful, one aspect that could be improved is the water pressure. The hotel's location was convenient, with easy access to nearby restaurants, shops, and tourist attractions, making it an ideal choice for both business and leisure travelers.

SSonnyThis hotel has the best atmosphere on the Sai Kaew Beach, but it asking price far exceeds the value of dining and service they provide. Basically, they charge close to 5-star prices for what is essentially a pretty nice 3-star hotel. Hotel staff were fine, but the staff at the beach club, which is part of the hotel, tend to be very rude to customers. They enjoy giving guests orders that do not make much sense. Other guests got yelled at for resting their legs on a chair at the their table. I came back from the beach, dried myself and changed a shirt before sitting down on a beach towel, and I was ordered to leave (by yelling) because I'm wet. I am respectful of rules and my family and I have visited many beach front properties, I do not believe we commited any violation of etiquette. I also did not see any of these ”rules” displayed near the beach club. May be this is part of their culture at the Sai Kaew Resort, but when they ask for almost USD 20 (incl. tax) for a simple plate of pasta and YELL at customers, then none of these is acceptable. PS. We stayed over 4 nights, and the breakfast buffet was swarmed by flies every morning. Their food court style free seating arrangement means we had to awkwardly hunt down tables ourselves. Again, TOTALLY NOT WORTH THE MONEY.

GGuest UserGreat location on main beach and decent beach bar area (live band WAY too loud). Room was a decent price but a bit weird: downstairs bathroom, bedroom upstairs above it. But the staff are not friendly at all, the bins & ashtrays around the resort are not emptied, the bread from the bakery is not fresh and the maids leave the corridors in a real mess during the day. But to be fair, service across the whole of Samed it pretty bad - and I’ve been going there for 35 years! But this is a place we won’t bother with a second time.

GGuest UserThe hotel has mini villa type rooms, each with a good-sized balcony to enjoy the beautiful foliage planted all around. The rooms are large, airy, sp****, and super clean. Bathroom size is good too, and all amenities are provided. The bed is one of the softest ones I've ever slept on. Absolutely loved it! Check-in and check-out was smooth, the staff is warm. There's a shortcut which takes you to the main Sai Kaew Beach in a minute's walk. It is also easily walkable (15 mins) from the main ferry pier (Nuan Thip). The hotel did not have a restaurant yet (which we knew before booking), but I did see some construction going on, so they could be adding one in the future, But there's plenty of restaurants on the beach, so no worries there. We had an immensely satisfactory and comfortable stay. Would recommend to all travelers.

Mmarkosti4Great Rayong Resort – Excellent, very budget hotel this part of the beach MaeRanpueng. Located in a alley, 200m from the highway and beach. There are small cafes next to it, only, it is very difficult to identify them - like, there are chairs and a pair of tables, and neither staff nor visitors are observed. Along the beach there are typical beach ”food” and macachees are accommodated. There are plenty of shops, including 7/12. The hotel is ubiquitous (in rooms too) WI-FI, a very cozy pool, friendly staff. Breakfasts, depending on the population, either a Swedish table or a fix. But even when the husband was fixed at request, they brought an addition without problems. The dishes are undelicate but delicious. From the shortcomings – no balcony and fruit for breakfast. Beaches – sandy, spacious and unlimited, excellent water, and the main great without people.

GGuest UserI have stayed at Flamingo Villa before (In the Garden Room), but this time I decided to stay in the loft room, which apparently is called the Family Room. Flamingo Villa is somewhat strange, since the ”Hotel” is basically three rooms within the Samed Your House hotel. Our neighbors actually knocked on our door to try and check in ~ You need to call the phone number for Flamingo Villa in order to check in, as someone will come out to meet you. So, bottom line up front: Flamingo Villa is awesome, but get ready to kill a lot of mosquitos! The owners do a good job of lighting incense sticks to try and keep the them away, but there are fountains around the area and the mosquitos are no joke. I would say I killed at least 10 in our room, so it is super important to make sure you close the sliding doors behind you every time you go in and out of the room. The Family Room was awesome. The lower floor is basically a living room with a large day bed and a big TV with great speakers. The toilet room is separate from the shower. The stairs to the loft are pretty steep, but once you get up there it is really nice. There are two queen beds in the loft, and the glass wall and sliding door separate the bedroom from the main room, which is great because the bedroom has its own AC unit, and the glass keeps out the mosquitoes. The beds were comfortable, but be careful because the ceiling is very low above the beds. The view from up in the loft is very peaceful, and the owners obviously spent a lot of time decorating the place (The Christmas tree was still up while we were there). The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Sai Kaew Beach, and the pier for the ferry is only a 10 minute walk ~ but you can take a mini bus if you would like. The hotel is close to restaurants and stores, and there are two 7-11s close to the beach. We rented a motor bike the last time we were in Koh Samed, but Sai Kaew Beach seems to be the nicest on the island, so we just hung out there. I love Flamingo Villa, and I am sure I will stay there again in the future.

GGuest UserFirst, I chose Koh Samet because I asked a local Thailand friend which island has not been overdeveloped since my early days coming to Thailand in the 1990s. His response was ”head to Koh Samet”. I looked for a value hotel on one of the more southern, less developed beaches which led me to Wong Duean Bay and the Vongdeuan Resort. The pool was a big draw. With the low tide being pretty extreme, it is really nice to have the salt water pool to cool off in and swim laps. The food seemed pretty authentic to me. With mainly Thai visitors coming in on the weekends it figures the food would be good at the Vongdeuan Resort. :) The staff were wonderful and always so fun to share a story or two with. The beach area all along the bay was extremely clean with no plastic on the beach or garbage in the water. This is a big plus when going to the shore in SE Asian countries. There are several beach restaurants but none of them had loud music, at least during the weekdays when I was there. It is definitely a sleepy and peaceful place to enjoy the water at high tide as well as the white sand beach for walks.

KKiwimark2015We stayed for 4 nights here. The location was pretty good and we were right on a beach, which made it nice for swimming. They do have a great pool too. It wasn't overly busy when we were there. But there were large groups coming and going, but they weren't that noisy. The breakfast is basic, but you do get to sit out and have a fantastic view looking out over the bay. The only problem I really had with our stay was the tap water, there was a slight discoloration. I didn't drink from the tap anyways and also had bottled water. It is relatively private too. Our room was spacious enough and we could sit outside on the balcony. For me it was relaxing and in a good location. The staff were very friendly and happy to help.

GGuest UserThis is a very nice accommodation , consisting of a a main open alley with rooms on each side of the hall way , there is a reception area which sell drinks and at the end of the short alleyway there is a lovely cafe which sell fruit, coffees, smoothies , juices , and croissants and various toasts topped with fruit etc and they sell a nice burger and chips also, this is on the beach with loungers and bean bags and other options if you want to stay off the sand , some of the staff are friendly and smiley and some are not. the rooms are cleaned when requested no problem just leave your key at reception, the location is ideal , 5 minute walk to 7/11 and the village , I have to say this accommodation is idyllic with its thatch roofs and minimalistic style , I loved it here and I will stay here again , the only negative I had about the place is they didn’t clean the rubbish from the beach , the beach is the reason we go here … only 1 or 2 businesses on this beach clean the rubbish regularly , all the others do not clean up and it is unsightly , all the businesses on this island should all make sure it is clean all of the time .
