4.7/5
Outstanding
GGuest UserGood location for getting to Ljubliana, or catching the freeway for excursions. Free parking onsite!! Rooms were good and had all the basics. If you can upgrade to a suite, they are great. Sauna was hot, clean and not another person in sight. Breakfast has many options, both hot and cold. Omelets can be made to order and are served hot! One morning we were surprised with octopus ”carpaccio” - delicious. The best surprise was when we were not motivated to leave the hotel for dinner - so we tried the Robin Restaurant - the hotel's main restaurant. We were hesitant but found all of the food freshly prepared and at a high level of quality. The service was excellent too and our server knew the menu and dish contents as if she herself were preparing the plates! The prices were very reasonable for the food that was served - on hot plates - as it should be! Highly recommended!!
NNaveen inder singhHad a nice stay at this hotel but the hotel has some issues. Biggest one of them being parking and carrying luggage to the hotel as there is no way you can park closer to the hotel. On top of it, its a cobbled street. Say goodbye to you bag wheelies…
Secondly, being a 4star property, i would atleast expect a 24hr reception desk. Had a call from trip.com office regarding my eta to the hotel as they would close the reception desk after 10pm and we wouldnt be able to check-in if there is no staff. Thankfully staff stayed late as our flight was super delayed (Perfect easyjet moment) and checked us in before we could head out and get dinner which was past 10:45pm and almost none of the restaurants were serving dinner. So much for the first magical evening in Ljubljana!!!!
Thirdly, there is no lift being an old building which is self explanatory, but travellers with heavy luggage should be warned in advance.
Fourthly, as for the breakfast we expected a proper coffee from a 4star property, but instead there is only a small coffee machine which dispenses coffee on button press. Guys the coffee isnt nice. I would rather head downstairs to the main street with plenty of cafes around. Breakfast itself is just standard, nothing whao. For hot breakfast there is only one option - eggs (served 4 ways) wasnt great, wasnt bad!
Now for the good part, hotel is nicely decorated, clean, rooms are spacious, coffee machine and kettle inside the room. Clean towels, Comfy beds! A complimentary bubbly waiting for you in the fridge, somehow they knew you are exhausted from carrying your bags from the end of the street to the hotel and upstairs!!! 😫
3.5 stars.
AAlexei KNew and modern hotel. Ideally located - within walking distance from both train stations and the central part of the city. There are several good restaurants nearby.
What I liked:
1 . Very friendly and helpful staff
2. Spacious room with a great view
3. Comfortable bed and accessories
4 . Delicious and varied breakfast
What I didn't like:
1 . From time to time a cracking sound is heard in the ventilation system. The repairman came twice, but found no problems. However, it really ruined my sleep.
2. The gym has very poor equipment and poor ventilation. You must breathe the smell of rubber from the floor.
3. Packing cost - 30 euros per day
GGuest UserAustria Trend Hotel is a hotel that is extremely well managed. The people at reception were especially helpful to me in using the computer to write an article. The room is extra large with a beautiful view of the country side and the window opens so one can get fresh air. The maid was especially through in cleaning the room. The restaurant offered a varietz of dishes and the waiter was very nice. The bus stops right in front of the hotel and with a card it is easy to get to the downtown area. They also have a spa and masssages available but I simply did not have the opportunity to use them. I definitely recommend staying at Austria Trend Hotel.
GGuest UserI stayed in one of the pod rooms that was extremely comfortable and cozy. The price for these style rooms was also extremely affordable. The hotel was in a perfect location in Ljubljana, wedged in between the town centre and bus and train stations. The hotel also had a beautiful terrace area with surround views of the mountains and city. My only inconvenience I experienced was that the WiFi was down for the first two days which wasn’t a big issue for me but was for the handful of people that were there to work also.
GGuest UserWe had high expectations of this hotel and the staff were friendly and the rooms were clean. However, there were some problems which we had not expected in an inner city hotel. We went out for a meal both nights of our stay and when we got back around 9.45 we fancied a drink only to find the bar closed at 10.00pm. On the first night we did have time for a glass of wine but on the second we were told the bar was closed. This was disappointing as we had already been out and did not want to go out again. We had one full day in Ljubljana and the weather was glorious. When we went back to the hotel after being out all day we wanted to go into the Terrace Bar and sit outside with a drink and to read a book. When we approached the entrance to the bar there was a barrier across it. We asked the reception staff if we could go up but were told it was closed for a photo shoot. This is not what we expected on a hot afternoon. The information from the hotel also said there was a restaurant but when we asked were told it was only for group bookings. These little touches make a difference and consequently we would not stop at this hotel again.
GGuest UserStayed our last two nights of a 17 day European trip. Typical Intercontinental Hotel: service excellent, nice rooms (we were upgraded to a suite using AMEX PLATINUM card), excellent gym, good breakfasts. They provided a very generous ”breakfast in a box” for our very early checkout (5:30am) to get an early flight on our last day. Bed was very comfortable, bathroom great.
GGuest UserWe just stayed there for one night but the location was great to explore Ljubljana. Beds inside the room were extreme good for an hotel.Reception&service were really friendly. I defeinetly can recommend this place. Only small negative point. Parking lot beside the hotel with 25 Euro per day is not so cheap.
NNorthmaniaThe hostel is only 5 minutes walk from the station, do not look for the entrance, the reception is in the English pub, you have to leave a small deposit for the key on your arrival. The rooms are on the first floor of this pub, they are spacious, the beds are of good quality, safe under the bed to put your belongings. Bathroom and toilet clean and in correct number. The city center is only a 5-10 minute walk away. The small negative point is that there is no real reception if needed, nor a kitchen or common room. Good for a few nights.
JJjjjjoooyyCheck-in is different from where you live. I didn't receive any information before check-in. If you want to stay, friends suggest to confirm with the hotel first. Fortunately, there is a friendly lady (should be a cleaner) at the accommodation to help call and ask, and the problem is solved quickly. The price is quite good for a separate room in this area, the shared toilet and shower are also very clean, and there is a shared kitchen where you can cook and eat.
