Outstanding
MMitchellAs a whole, this small Property hotel was very clean and the roooms looked as if they were recently painted. Our particular room on the 2 floor had a great view of the harbor and made for a terrific view of the sunrise. All in all this hotel was one of our best that we have stayed in through our travels of New Zealand. The only catch to me was we are a family of 4. Our children are 5 years of age. It was highly interesting to me that with our room having a King Bed and Two single beds, I was charged for “an extra person” supposedly because the rooms occupancy is 3. I am guessing that with three beds and only an occupancy of three, that they are requiring the parents to sleep by themselves in different beds. Not really sure what’s going on with that. Would recommend, Only if you are a family of 3!

Stayed with my mother in a Exec King Room with twin beds. It's a good quality, apartment style hotel. The room was really spacious, comfortable beds, a spa bath, and thoughtful provisions such as coffee press, make up wipes and drinking water. Was disappointed to be informed at check-in that parking was not included, and charged at $10/day. Something to note is that the surrounding area, and Tauranga in general has an huge amount of construction underway, this didn't disturb our stay, however it means there are lots of building activity, traffic cones and many retail shops not open. If you are travelling for a short stay or business this hotel is great. If you are after a relaxing holiday or longer stay, suggest staying over the bridge at Mt Maunganui.

We had misfortune of booking and staying at this motel. The motel lady Kerry-Ann behaved really harshly when we were late to check out by 5 minutes. I was travelling with my 80-year old father-in-law and my 4-year old son. Due to some reasons, we got a bit late to check out by few minutes. I requested late check-out by one hour and she refused it strictly (did not allow even 5 minutes). Afterwards, she came at the door at the stroke of 10 o'clock and I said we are almost ready and would leave in few minutes. She started behaving rude and we were literally thrown out of the door with my kid and family. Never had such horrible experience in NZ. Poor manners. She said she took an early check-in because someone paid for that! How can they allow an early check-in just after 30 minutes of check-out? When I asked for early checkin day before my travel, she did not agree easily and said maximum she can do is two hours before 2pm! That means different standards for different customers or just plain lies? The day before my travel, my kid had lot of vomiting and diahrrea and I requested that if she could cancel my booking and refund the amount. She hassled us lot and told she would cancel the booking only if she could onsell. Nowadays, after the covid age, most of the motel owners are flexible enough with bookings and they allow cancellation due to medical emergency! Finally I had to travel with my sick kid because I did not want to lose out the amount. We also saw a big notice inside room threatening for fines if dishes are left unclean, moving furniture etc. The motel also charges 3% surcharge over the total price because of credit card payment and there is no other way to pay (so be ready to shell out that extra 3%)! The motel owner needs to take some lessons on humanity. She needs to learn how to behave with customers. Customers need to be treated with respect. Please be careful while dealing with this motel and be ready well ahead of your check-out time. Otherwise, be ready to be kicked out rudely.

GGuest UserI had to write a review on how helpful, friendly and forward thinking Sanah is from Quest on Durham. I have worked in the Events and Hospo industry for so long and I can honestly say she is one of the best in the game. Nothing was too hard, I had a group booking that had to postpone due to Covid and she had already thought to hold rooms, even in case we needed extra. Sanah, thank you for being great. Ask for Sanah, she is so helpful and friendly.

Ddidee62Stayed for 7 nights in a Pilot Bay Harbour view room,We could watch the cruise ships come in and all other harbor life we got late afternoon sun.Would recommended harbour view over a partial ocean view.Excellent security, you can’t get to reception even when you arrive there is a intercom to use to contact reception, check in was easy super fast and the young lady at reception was really nice,Very secure tag system to get in and out of building and lifts.Nice pool. The only down side was our room was quite dated and a spring clean needed but in saying that WiFi was excellent and with 60 sky channels great if you have a wet day,bed very comfy,Beaumont is close to everything bars/restaurants/hot pools and the bus service if you need a bus.We would definitely return but would ask for an updated apartment. Thanks Beaumont for an enjoyable stay

GGuest UserBooked last minute as a birthday treat. Did not realise on booking that you had to check in before 6pm, I called at 5.55 to let them know we were 10 minutes alway but no answer. Arrived just after 6pm, had to call the after hours we were meet by a man, we had already prepaid the room which was $266 for a bottom floor, one bedroom apartment. He told us we needed to pay a bond which I assumed would be $50-$100. We had to pay a $250 bond upfront to stay here. That was our dinner and activities money for the night. So had to cancel our plans. The room was dated, there was no body/hair wash left. There was no milk in the fridge so couldn't make a hot drink. As others have mentioned there are signs all over the room about extra charges, if you ring them after 9pm for anything you will get charged, if you leave anything in the room you will be charged and even more unnecessary fees. Tiny rubbish bin. The room was a good size but the headboard on the double bed isn't attached so everytime you turn over it bangs and so when you are there for a child free night you can imagine how much it was banging. It was right next to the road and it was a raining miserable night and it was loud, cars driving past, people walking/running past you can hear everything, image it during the busy season. The noise from the above room you can here people walking around. We were quite disappointed so I had a look at the other reviews this morning and I really wish I had of read them before booking here :( On check out which you had to wait as they are only there at reception between 8.30-10am on weekends. I asked the man to refund my $250 bond and he said that he can't and it won't be refunded until about Tuesday but it can take 10 business days. We had said about the missing amenities and he didn't care. Then we asked about all the bad reviews and he started getting angry. My husband reliased we had left a bag in the room and wanted to go get it and as we were approaching the room my husband made a comment about no wonder you have so many bad reviews and he told my husband to shut his mouth and he locked the room door and said to get out! He was not going to allow us to go back into the room to get our things. And said to ring the police if we wanted our stuff back. By this stage my husband was really mad and I ended up needing to call the police so they could go get our stuff from the room. Our uber driver had shown up and manager/man on reception had disappeared and some other lady that was obviously to what was happening came out and I said can I just get the key and I'll go get our stuff since we don't actually have to check out until 10am and she was saying I can't, I don't know what is happening. A couple minutes later she comes back in with our bag and continued to argue. Even the uber driver heard it and he is a 70 year old man and he came in to the reception and said they should not of been treating customer how they treated us. I will be going to

This establishment allows pets, but quite frankly I wouldn't let my dog anywhere near it. Spent a week here on work (clearly upset someone in bookings) and found it thoroughly unpleasant. On entry to the room I was greeted with carpet stains and an aroma akin to an ailing widowers home. Single beds serve as lounge seating and wooden decor and panelling throughout gives a distinctly 80s vibe. Shower is lined with black mould. The thermal pool may well be very pleasant but given its condition (refer to photographs) was not something I wanted to immerse my body in. Location is undesirable and driveway is on a corner of a busy road which is treacherous. All in all a dreadful time. Fortunately a corkscrew is supplied, as if you stay here you'll certainly want to drink.

GGuest UserIt was a cold unit and the heater had to be urned on early to heat up the unit, but it was still quite cold. We had fresh towels and the basic things. The shared kitchen was something we did not opt to use. All in all we loved the price and that we were able to book our family of five.
